Just had a call from them wanting to quote me for house insurance. Somehow they (and others) know it's renewal time.

Got a call from this number this evening asking me to hold on the line for the next available operator after about ten mins got cut off did a 1471 and this is the number that came back but I never rang it back ,
Probably some crooked scam find them Flog them then Hang them .

Had a call from Redress last evening asking for my husband - said he wasn't available and asked who was calling and what was it about - some vague answer about money, banks - and then they disconnected.  Did'nt get a chance to say we belong to TPS - will be ready next time - if there is one.

I recently received a phone call that became insulting and offensive when I began to question them. Full details have been posted on my blog. Got a call and it was a guy with a London accent and asked for somebody. When I said they weren't here he put the phone down.

Had a cold call from this number today at 18.50 claiming to be a legal services provider offering will services .  Why?  We're signed up to the service which is supposed to prevent cold calls like this

Received a call from them today and an American recorded voice put me on hold. Not happy as I felt intimidated as despite me hanging up they didn't so was unable to use my landline.

None - Got a recording saying my call was important to them and to hold the line!
Left it on a speaker playing loud music for a while then hung up.

i keep having these ridiculous calls but today even hanging up didnt get rid of them!
when i went to use my phone there was hold music and an american voice saying "your call is important to us please hold" tried unplugging my landline and everything but it still didnt work and eventually then line became clear after approx 5 mins. i better not get charged for this!!!!!
any ideas anyone???

With regards to not being able to use your phone becasue they are still on, thats a problem with Landlines both parties need to hang up but if you refrain from using the phone for about 30 mins and it will eventually disconnect the call.  You shouldn't be charged though as they are the ones who made the call.

They called me today under the name Money Matters (?). Did not explain what they were calling for and proceeded to ask very personal questions about my debts and repayments. It appears they would like to make my repayments more manageable. They have called as Redress before and I asked to be taken off their list, but obviously haven't been.

This has happened to me several times today despite requesting to be taken off their contact list earlier this week. So frustrating and not making me want to use their dubious services.

email the useless overpaid people at Ofcom and let them know of what you think of how they allow these companies to continually cold call you

This number keeps calling and blocking my number so as I cannot ring out

This company calls me on a regular basis. When I answer, music plays and eventually (after 10 - 15 minutes) they end the call. I've put the phone down on them but when I try to dial out I just get their music again. This means that until THEY hang up I can't use the phone.

I answered by mistake, interrupted to say I was on TPS so they shouldn't be calling - girl said they ignore TPS

BECAUSE NO ACTION WILL EVER BE TAKEN !!!!!

So why have TPS?

I have received numerous calls from this number and am getting fed up with it - do as I do, tell them to "hang on a moment" then go and make a cup of tea or whatever - they will get the message - if not, now that I have their number which is caller display, DON'T ANSWER IT!!

Like so many other folks here, we had a phone call at 6.30pm (today) with only silence on the line when we answered. So, we didn't hear Redress of any other company name.

1471 revealed their phone number, so I found this site / forum aftewards. We don't have CLI so can't see incoming callers' numbers before answering.

Why these idiots haven't withheld their phone number is a mystery!

We registered on TPS years ago but previous postings have explained why that didn't prevent the call.

The next time these parasites call, I'll ask them to wait for a moment (eg while I answer the door or something) then I'll place the handset next to the TV. I might remember them, I might not haha!

Calling quite frequently today. Last time I answered I got an automated voice saying "your call is very important to us" then a long period of music, during which I couldn't disconnect them. Then it did disconnect.

Just had a call from this number. They said they were a company called MoneyMadeSimple. The person that they were calling for was my partner and they said her house insurance was up for renewal soon. She doesn't own a house!
