the thing here that has happened is there are some online advertising services which use surveys to gather details about potensial customers they are usualy legitimate companys and how they work is...
a website owner will want to charge for services or protect content on their website from being constantly downloaded by bots thus taking up all the limited bandwith they paid for
so they setup an account with the advertising company and add the widgit or whatever to the website they host, people who want to buy something or download something must fill out a survey before they get what they want,, what has happened to you guys is this...
someone filled out a webform survey and put your phone number in so that they themself did not recieve the spam call or whatever
so how the guy above said its powergen , its not the companys fault as they aquired your number legitimatly but the person who gave it to them probably just made it up , by coincidense

This number Kirsdale Marketing continually rings our business line. This is so annoying. Opened the office up this morning to two messages on the answer phones over the weekend from these people. Why on earth are they continually ringing a registered business line. No matter how many times you selct 9 to opt out and over days they still ring

I previously complained to the TPS regarding Energy Helpline and other Energy callers; I am ex-directory, and have been since 1974.  I was unable to answer this call, so my answerphone retained this repetitive message asking for energy ratings of recently-bought appliances.  It was clearly "robot-woman".

I presume telephone numbers are randomly generated

Got a couple of calls from this number last night. The daft thing is they must have been calling my Skype number which gets redirected to both my home and my work mobile. I was in bed and didn't answer it. I wish I did now as it might have been fun getting them to understand that my Skype number is unlisted and is only used by my family as it redirects to me in Australia.

We are ex directory but have been getting nuisance calls from these companies. We are on Talk Talk. What's the point of being ex directory if companies sell your number. It should be stopped. We sold a time share 15 years ago and still get inundated with calls from these people.

got a call from this number today, googled it and found information about it being from powergen who are not my suppliers, also found this number to ring and opt out 01618307305 but got no answer when i rang it so tried ringing the 08450304400 number back, got the same message and was told to press 9 if i wanted to opt out of the survey and not be contacted again so pressed 9 and it told me i had chose to opt out.............will wait and see if theyre true to their word and dont contact me again

I have had many calls in the last week, so short the it stops before I can get to it the once I did get to it it was silent

Have had 2 calls from them despite being on caller preference & Ex-Dir I will report this & let you know

Was an unsolicited recorded message that I ignored and replaced phone - but then was unable to use my phone for several minutes. = These calls should be illegal !!!

Call at 18.45. Marketing survey for energy efficiency. Disgusted about these sort of calls and even more disgusted that they can't be [***] to have a real person speak to me. I just hung up rather than press 9 and had no problem using my phone immediately. I have a phone that allows me to block the numbers, they were added immediately.

Report them to the TPS or phone them up and tell them you are going to contact the police, which I have done!

I require that your unsolicited phone calls to my domestic phone no. ***********, cease immediately. This is registered with the TPS because of the number of similar nuisance calls received.

There is a sick person in this household who is deserving of peace and tranquillity, something that is not afforded by the continuing degree of harassment we have had to endure from intrusions from unsolicited phone calls such as yours.

I have discussed the issues relating to these kinds of calls with the Information Commissioner's Office. As a result I require that you delete my phone number from your database with immediate effect.

You will know that such are criminal offences. They are breaches of the Telecommunication Act 1984 (as amended) & the Harassment Act 2000 (as amended). Therefore any further such calls will be subject to a formal complaint to the commissioner, and be the subject of my obtaining a Crime No. from the Duty Inspector of the local Police in respect of legal action being taken against you.

We have only just been able to stop similar calls from numerous other survey and recovery etc agencies etc only to find these simply restart with other callers. None of these calls are intended for us, and none will be tolerated. Stop now! No further warnings will be given.

I shall obtain your company registered details, the details of your directors whom I'll personally take action against, and I'll bombard your company with thousands of illicit emails. Got it?

Buy a cheap phone with answer phone built in and change the voice to German,Italian whatever. Soon stops these idiots or say that this call is being diverted to a premium rate number. I have set my phone to divert to an adult premium rate line and swith between both German answer phone and premium rate.

Got a call fromthis company SCottish Lady, it went through to my answer phone but it is annoying I am on the TPS but obviously this firm ignores it

Had a call from this number today, recorded message about market research, hung up straight away

Same drill as everyone else re Curved Air, didn't answer the call, my number is ex-directory and we're on TPS....They say they;re acting on behalf of EON but I dont have an account with EON and neither is my home number registered  with any energy supplier.


Personally speaking I don't think TPS matters any more, they're as useless as a chocolate teacup along with their cohorts OFCOM.

Best advice I can give is find out the details for the company (as has been posted above) and any email address or telephone number you have for them upload to the various data harvesting companies out there and let them have some back.

I'll be buying a Trucall this week.

yes, i received this number today.

Got this call today on my answer machine, just after 9am this morning, sounded like 'Kirsty from Market Research' calling about a survey on how customers use energy efficient products. Promising £50 M&S voucher. I'm Ex-Directory too and have also been on TPS for years .. eventually managed to allegedly 'Opt Out' .. Very very annoying .. if they call back again I will be livid!!
