I must have 4 of these phone call a day. Each time I opt out of the survey by pressing 9, and everytime I'm told I have successfully opted out, but I still get the same phone calls every day!

Curved Air's autodialer calls me on a regular basis at my office. I do have PV solar pannels,wall insulation, loft insulation, double glazing, a decent roof, conservatory and new kitchen all fitted within the last ten years. BUT MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT... This is a business number and me and my staff should not be destracted from our work by constant automated market research calls. The truth is that you do not appear to be conducting research, rather you are getting round TPS rules and collecting leads for sales companies. As your website says:

"We already have data lists of consumers who have expressed an interest in home improvements, such as double glazing, Kitchens, Bathrooms and Bedrooms as well as other areas. Why not contact us today, to see what we have in your area?"

Pressing 9 didn't work.
Contacting the website didn't work.

Yes, had the unsolicited 'survey' call which obviously then opened me up for the call from Hothouse Energy. On questioning the Hothouse rep, I was told that the survey was conducted by Curve Marketing Solutions (0845 050 0344 - although I've not verified that number).
Has anybody collected all this data together and passed it on to Trading Standards I wonder?
Anyway, Hothouse is added to my personal blacklist for getting around my telephone preference service status, and wasting my time.

I work at an office in the West Midlands.  I work at a pod with four desks.  Over the course of this morning, all four desk phones on our pod have had a call exactly as described by others - Scottish accent, female, "energy survey in our area".  I had a similar call at home yesterday.  It would not be a stretch to imagine that they are systematically working their way through a number range.

Had a call from this number back in June 2011, in fact i think i had 2 calls, the first one, I thought was one of those stupid management claims firms, but when I answered it, it was some market resaerch thing, pressed 9 to opt out and hung up.
The second one went to my BT 1571 answer service, becauase of this I was not able to delete the messege, being a recoreded messege, and not being able to press 9, I was very very angry at the fact that any subsequent messeges left could'nt be checked, I had several messeges I could not check, until after 20 DAYS, when they are automaticly deleted. therefore i missed an important messege at the time.
I've had no calls from this mumber since tho, but have had nuisance calls from other numbers, and seems to be increasing too.

We get plagued by these calls ( from 08450 304416) at all hours of the day and night - BT have told me that because its a recorded message and not an actual person making the call that the recorded message has to be licenced by "The Office of the Information Commissioner".

You should complain to The Information Commissioner on 0303 123 1113 and hopefully these pernicious pests will have their licence withdrawn

U all really ought to shut up and get a life.
The people in these call centres are only doing their job and working in a call centre is not easy, trust me.

Would you rather they sat on benefits and never worked?
No.

I have worked in 4 call centres and currently work in 1.

We have to call the data we are given and if it is not properly updated we don't know you have been called before.

Try this, it works.
When you get a junk call, inform the caller that "This line is reserved for junk and unsolicited calls and I will accept your call. However whilst you are talking to me I will carry on with my life as normal in the full knowledge that whilst you are talking to me and I am not listening, we are, between us tying up you time and line which gives the rest of the public break from these call"
Put the phone down and go put the kettle on. I'll guarantee that by the time it boils, they will have gone.
Also since I've followed this plan, I haven't had a junk call in ages!
