Called this morning - by the time I'd looked them up here - 6 rings or so, they'd hung up.

Had an answerphone message from these clowns on my work phone left yesterday evening - hope this isnt the start of them calling me frequently :-/

I received an unsolicited call from this company i.e. a pre-recorded message started playing when I answered the phone.  It did have an opt-out option but I never used this as I've no idea what it may trigger.  I've tried opting out on their website but it doesn't work possibly because I've disabled cookies on my pc simply to stop this type of company spying on me.
Is there any way to stop this?

I got a call from this crowd.  As soon as I heard an automated message I hung up.  Having checked here it seems there was an opt-out option but I never press buttons on these calls as I've no idea what it might do.  I tried their optout page online (having first done some checking it was a legit site) but it doesn't work.  I keep getting a message saying the validation code is wrong.  I assume this is because I've blocked cookies to stop companies like theirs from spying on me.
Does anyone else think it's hypocritical that their home page refers to the value of "opt-in" research but their method is collecting this research is opt-out - if you can?

This firm is a pest they ring up asking about energy survey, they should be banned from cold calling re surveys another call from them tonight

My octogenarian mother was confused by this call, and did not understand about the "Press 9" message (which, from previous comments, wouldn't work anyway).  We are also ex-directory, so they obtained our number illegally or have random dialled (which I believe is also illegal). Why are they allowed to remain operative?

It's about time these so called surveys are regulated exactly the same way as sales calls and blocked by the TPS as most of them try to make sales at the end, if I wanted unsolicited calls I wouldn't have registered with the TPS so you nuisance callers just leave people alone

I have found that sending this to codeline@mrs.org.uk should light a fire and I will indeed be willing to go that step further to ensure that this parasitic company stop all of this harassment.  Feel free to copy and paste to your hearts content.

I received a call today from 08450304416, a company called Curved Air Marketing Solutions Ltd or Curved Air Global Ltd or Hot House Roof Company Ltd or Hot House Energy Ltd or Kirkdale Market Research, to use a few of its names.  I, along with many other people, have pressed 9 to opt out.  We have visited the opt out page on the website or called the telephone number but all to no avail as these parasites keep calling.  I believe this to be a breach of your code of conduct and ask that you get the company to stop this harassment, if not I and many others will be forced to submit complaints about yourselves and Curved Air (or whatever they are calling themselves) to the ICO for failing to adhere to a publicised code of conduct and failing to enforce that code of conduct.  We are sick and tired of this moronic company and feel that it should not be allowed to continue operating as it clearly does NOT listen to the wishes of people who WANT TO BE LEFT IN PEACE AND QUIET.

Perhaps we should also lobby OFCOM to stop these kinds of calls under the TPS scheme as that is what we signed up for, so we don't get bothered by annoying companies who eventually sell our numbers to advertisers.  I am Ex-directory and my number is withheld as per my request to my telecoms provider.  My number is known to only 4 people, my Mother and Father and my partners Mother and Father.  We both DO NOT WANT any surveys, market research, advertising, cold calling, insurance offering, prize draw giving, competition spouting pain in the [***] phone calls from anyone any company or any entity and we are prepared to take this matter as high as it will go to ensure that companies like this NEVER bother anyone again and if you do nothing then to make sure that you are taken to task for failing to keep your members in check.

They are utter pests.  It makes no difference if you "opt-out" by following there instructions.  I have a new phone number, subscribe to the TPS and I am ex-directory. I can only presume they use an automated dialler, simply churning through every number.

As I am ex-directory like so many other people  WHY am I still receiving calls from these idiots after opting out using their online opt-out service. I do hope they call again following my request to opt-out of receiving any further unsolicited sales calls as I have a suprise for them under the 1912 Act

Their opt-out number works-for them. They use it to add your number to their active list that they most likely sell to another telemarketer.

A better solution is to block the calls. Service providers only charge a nominal fee, and if the calls are coming to your cellphone and it runs apps, you might already have several free ones to choose from. Just look on your screen for an app market, open it, and search for call-blocking apps. For other cellphones, contact your provider or check your owner's manual for more information.

When contacting your provider, have them also block incoming international calls, third-party providers and premium SMS. Scammers are using them to send back-to-back messages to cellphones while charging premium rates. They steal pre-paid credit or run the victim's bill sky-high. These scams are gaining in popularity, so protect yourself and get them blocked right away.
