They have phoned me twcie this week. what is the point? at least they should speak!!!

they are sooooo rude, they have my number but the name of the man who lived in the house before me, who's never had this number, when they called me last i told them i'd already told them about 6 times that he wasnt at this number and the woman was like, err, no you havent, this is the first time we've called you. umm, no love, i can assure you its not!

i got a call from these lot today - just hung up no idea who it was so i typed in their number on google and found this site

every time this number rings, it clicks, and there is no one there....this happens about every two hours

We have had lots of these calls lately from British Gas with 2 today so far.

My wife answered 1 and they hung up.

One more call from this number today and I'm switching suppliers.

Use your answering machine with a message like "Don't hang up, I'm using this machine to screen out silent calls so if you are a real person and want to speak to me, please leave a message after the tone - if I hear you I will answer. Thanks". Just leave the machine on for every call. It won't stop them but at least you only answer real callers!

This number keeps calling me. I am on the telephone list for not receiving random calls so they should NOT be calling.

I got a call from this number today, I answered it and there was someone there.  He was trying to get me to change suppliers back to BG. Extremely pushy sales technique, said he wasn't authorised to just send me information, only sign me up, told him he was wasting his time then.  I remember why I left BG in the first place!!

Had calls from this number and is British Gas also they call round your home and try to get you to switch supplier, but when I wanted to go back to EDF I keep getting letters and calls from them so my advice would be say no thanks at the front door stage of things.

They've been calling me every few hours for 2 days now, it's really annoying

Two calls one yesterday and one today both at 12.47.When I rang the number there was no sound at all not even a ringing tone!!

I've been having the silent treatment from this mumber. Yesterday, I answered a call to be told it was British Gas wanting to talk to me about gas and electric. I asked him if this had anything to do with all these silent calls I'd been getting (I didn't know at this point if it was the same number until I did a 1471 after). He just said it was British Gas again. I told him I wasn't with British Gas (dropped them about a year ago)to which he said if he could offer me a cheaper deal could they entice me back. I said no, and told him I wanted all my details removed from their database. He said he would - I await with baited breath!

I got a call from a pushy man from this number claiming to be from British Gas. He seemend to be asking for info which British Gas would presumably already have at which point i refused to give him any more information.

he was saying that another gas supplier was about to change my supply from April 1st and had I authorised it. I had not. I assume it was just a made up reason to try and obtain more information on me. The questions included : do you own your own property, is it a flat, do you live on your own. Hmmmm very suspicious. Even when I said I was not going to answer he just tried asking dif questions.

I recommend just telling them to f*ck off.

Have been receiving these nuisance calls from this number for days - they never leave a message so have no idea what they want. Found this website by google searching the number. Next stop, OFCOM and OFWAT.....

British Gas phone me continously from this number (asking for someone else) until I answer telling them to remove my telephone muber from their telephone sales list, Then 6 months later it starts ALL OVER AGAIN.
It is infuriating and it is becoming increasingly difficult to not be rude if I eventually answer the calls.
I have written a complaint to British Gas, let's see what they do.

If you are in the same boat, do the same, write a complain on the British Gas website. If they get enough complaints maybe something will done about this cold calling!!!!

The reason why there are so many silent calls it because our numbers are randomly dialled by a computer. If you answer and there is an available 'sales person' you'll be patched through but it takes a few seconds. If not, it hangs up on you. Calls like this should stop!

Ive had this number ringing me nearly 3 times a day for a month or so. they ring my mobile and the couple of times i have answered no one is there.
I have rang but they told me the number had nothing to do with them. i said i'd checked it out on the internet and they suddenly changed there mind and told me i need to ring 0845 600 0055.

Same thing. I've been getting calls from 08450700827 every day. I have stopped answering the phone. It is possible that British Gas (if the number belongs to them) is making money off of these calls; they probably *want* people to ring the 0845 number back (if it's on your 1471 recording or caller ID) because you could be charged at a premium rate if you dial an 0845 number. But if you're a current customer of the company that's calling you (or if it's a charity that's calling you) then I'm pretty sure the TPS does not apply. Thus the repetitive nuisance calls.
