Had at least 100 calls from this number in the last two years. I am on a pay-as-you-go mobile, and every time they call, i lose a few pennies from my credit. It is infuriating.

Does anyone know for sure that calling the number that says it will stop the calls actually works? I wants my name and full address. Judging by their previous form, I would rather not give them that!

I am considering getting a Samsung mobile simply for the blocking facility, and all because of these annoying calls.

I think it's the service department trying to make an appointment to service a gas applicance.

We get calls from this number up to 3 times a day. Even though we have an answer machine no message is left.

these scum ring me every day three times a day, and the line goes dead, i cannot stop it happening, and its driving me insane, i am desperate to stop this harrassment, but it seems impossible, uk law on these matters is a disgrace. i will never ever, take any service from british gas again, due to this harrassment - EVER

This number rings me about twice per day, and is British Gas!
I igore it, but i think they are just checking on my welfare!  (YEAH RIGHT) LOL

These calls are coming daily and often.
When one of us answers the phone, the caller hangs up.

It IS British Gas and I recently left them for Scottish Power and have already had calls from them asking why I switched and I told them why yet we are still getting calls from them but they keep hanging up on us.

I would not surprise me at all if they hang up deliberately just to get us to ring back the 0845 number and swell their profits even more.

I'm not falling for it and have since changed my answer machine message to:

"Hello, we're out, call back later. If this is British Gas, please stop calling me I'm not coming back to you......EVER."

Might just work.

This number has been ringing me 2 a day for the last 4 weeks. When I have answered it there ahs been a pause so I have hung up. On one occasion i answered and a scottish man told me he was ringing from O2! I hung up but they keep ringing. They never leave a message though si it can't be urgent.

This seems a major problem getting about 4 calls daily on 08450700827,tried the no to cancel the calls but that does not work .Total joke

Got a call from this 084507000827 number. Pushy sales bloke telling me how cheap British Gas are and how they could save me £££'s. I asked specifically how much cheaper per unit they were and he wouldn't answer. He just kept saying 'I gurantee we are cheaper' etc etc. At one point, without any prompt with me he said "If you find out that I am wrong, you can take my name and sue me personally". I then asked him to send me some info in the post as there was no way I was gonna sign up to anything over the phone, at which point he abruptly hung up without saying anything.

Its worrying because although most say they are calling from British Gas, it seems sometimes they say they are calling from O2 or Sky. Something dodgy about this. Have logged a complaint with British Gas and will see what they come back with.

Had 2 calls on my mobile so far. I didn't answer the first one but got the second one. They asked to speak to a Mrs *** who had owned my house over 1 1/2 years ago. I asked him how he got my number and where he was calling from but at that point he hung up on me!!

So not too sure whether they are British Gas as I am not going to ring and find out, out of principle!!

My mobile is also a pay as you go and is still registered at my parents house. So how they managed to get my number god only knows.

I will see if they continue...

Have been getting phone calls from this number every day this week, I've never been in to answer them though.

Just got yet another call from these people - for somebody who lived here 5 years ago - googled the number and got this site - even have my number on the list with the TPS (Telephone preference people http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/)

It is a legal requirement that all organisations (including charities, voluntary organisations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so.

getting between 2 and 3 calls a day from this number no messages are left by them. Always an asian accent when I have answered and none of them to date have pronounced our surname correctly.

I just called one of these calls - I left BG over a yr ago cos of service and costs.....if they think I am going back they have another thing coming - MUPPETS!  

I too am on the TPS and still get calls from companies - so annoying!

I have been getting the calls for a while but just asumed it was different numbers, just checked and its always this one. I'm with BG allready, if its them I don't see what they want.

Also have had no answere on the times I did answere, so hung up as thought it might be a scam.

I too am worried by the fact that the same number has called people on behalf of different companies and wonder if they are hanging up just to get through their call quota?

im a customer and this has been going on for 3 years!! for the fist year i would answer the call but no-one there. Then one day i answered to a bloke trying to sell me gas insurance??? didnt know that existed. told him where to go which cheesed him off hahahaha. ive complained to bgas but there not interested one lady told me that the number had nothing to do with them, british gas high prices crap cserive they dont deserve to have british in front of there name! a friend told me that he called them back on the number until he got some 1 to answer then bored them every time until they stopped calling good idea if you have all the time in the world!
somthing needs to be done about this as they are taking the right piss out of us all, anybody get on suggestions????
