silent call, then they hung up

Another company (RTA Business) calling me to see if I want to sell my business as they have lots of interested companies and people who are interested in buying my company. If they have then why don't those people phone me ...

Total waste of time this company and others like them phoning me.

I have set a contact up in my phone called SPAMMERS and add their numbers to it, so every time they phone I know it is a SPAMMER so I don't answer it or just cut them off. Although sometimes I answer it and carry on with what I am doing to see how long they hang on for ...

RTA calling. Girl wanted to speak to business owner, said that's me. She puts more sandwich or something in mouth and mumbles on. Pardon? I say. Quite irate she says RTA and do I want to sell my (more food shoved in gob) bfffnesssh. This is obviously the manner they train them in, bet they pay peanuts!! Why are so many scammers trying so hard when if they got on with a sensible business they might find they don't get sworn at (so much) and might even enjoy it.
Sorry for rant but is this how the next year is going to go?

If you keep hanging up they will keep phoning back to see if you are interested.. That Is what we had to do when I worked on behalf of BT.

Yes It is a pain to talk to them but, at the end of the call after being polite and listening to the poor sod that has the job of phoning everyone around just be nice and say No thank you, I don't wish to sell up yet.. but I tell you what if you give me your name and number, when I think about selling I will get in touch

this company phones at least 4 / 5 times a day, some times they just hang up and some times they ask for the owner. i am very p---ed of and sick to death of them ringing

They call me every week, I have the number stored in my phone under "do not answer" so I just ignore it and get on with what I'm doing.

3 times today and when I answer just hang up

called me yet again today, i get called by then many times a week now, sometimes they speak other times it goes blank. I have them listed on my phone as "junk call" i just answer the phone now and say nothing. At least by answering its costing them money

Rang today 8/2/2011 at 14:11. I knew it was a telemarketer due to the 0845 number so just disconnected them. Not surprised to find it's RTA (or Road Traffic Accident as I've called them when they've phoned before). That doesn't go down well. Nor does their offer to 'value my business' if I'm thinking of selling. Wonder what the scam angle is. Probably some whopping fee for the 'valuation' and no intention of finding a buyer or similar. Ignore.

This company has made up to two calls a day to get business ! I have added TPS to all my numbers to stop them calling and if they make one more call they will be possibly liable for a fine. Judging from all the other complaints this method of cold calling annoys and yet they still continue

I get lots of 0845 calls every day. all I do is press answer twice, that straight away puts them on hold then I just wait till they get board of waiting and hang up, This must cost them money, (I hope) and also entertainment for me just seeing how long they are willing to stay on hold. "he he"  2mins 14sec is the record to date. and its stressless

I was called today by 0845 250 7252, I asked the chap for his details,he declined stating confidential reasons.
I asked for the number he was calling from, he declined stating they just changed it recently.
I asked him for the address of where he was calling from, he declined stating he did not know.
I asked what street it was on, he stated he did not know.
I asked if there was a Postcode there, he stated that he did not know of it.
I asked how on earth he made it to work with none of the above details, he laughed.
his name was ELLIOTT.

Kep getting call from this number, when  you answer they just hang up....Grrrrr

The scam angle is that they will value your business for free, but the valuation will be on the very positive side  of what it might be worth.
Then if you do want to sell it they will charge large advertising fees and once you've paid them that's it, they won't do any more work selling the business, it'll end up on an obscure page on their website and in a magazine.
If you then do manage to sell the business, even if it's to someone they didn't find for you, you'll have to pay commission.

I used to work there, - although generally the people who made good money were actually ripping off RTA more than anything, by wasting there time getting free valuations for people who would never actually sell - and when I left for university I put my number in the system with the details of a business and set it so my friend would call me (unbeknownst to him it was me) and I would go through the process and get him an appointment which could make a big difference to his monthly wage.

Big mistake. Since then I've been on their system for good, despite what I say.

If you can spare the 5-10 minutes waste their time. Go through the questions and answer them positively, get called back and arrange an appointment - make up a different address, and when they ring to confirm the appointment tell them it's all still on. Just don't be there.

i got called from this number they asked for the business manager i said they were not available as soon as i finished this sentence the phone cut off. (they put the phone dow w****rs!!!

they called me, i asked if it was a sales call! she said no a confidential business call to the owner! i put it down on her, why do these cockroaches persist???
