- joe blogsIts all a scam people, the company who call you are not sky but pose as sky. I used to work in a company that try to sell similar packages only to find you have been scammed later on. They collect data and other payment details over the phone giving you excellent deals if not to good to be true deals and all they want in exchange is a first down payment. Most of the sky callers are young university students who couldn't give 2 sht's about anyone! Commission based jobs like these are the worst of them all...unfortunately everyone needs to make a living and these crafty little pricks enjoy nothing more than to ruin your life. Not all are uni students and the ones you really!! need to be careful of are the women. There sweet talking give them more sales than I've had hot dinners and there thirst for more suckers like us give them a pay rise keeping them sharks in water just waiting for us innocent customers to fall into there trap! "and eat us alive" -.-
What I'm trying to say is the number calling you, you wont be charged. If you call them back! or try to opt out from these annoying calls, this will charge you.
*Mental note* Never accept any deals over the phone, simple as that! if your with sky call the official number and ask to speak to someone based on what subject you want to talk about. They will have a unique ID number 5 digits long. and a keen interest to help you out. you will receive an email or papers via post to confirm what the conversation was held that day. Same applies to any other official company.- Caller: SKY
- sue nuneatonthis number calls everyday or even twice a day
Googled number and it seems it is SKY
leave me alone - NikkiWe cancelled our Sky account about 6 months ago but they still call every day! I have another missed call from them today. I have already told them that we are no longer a customer and to take us off of their marketing lists, that we're not interested in having another account with them, and we are on the TPS but still they ring.
Next time they call when I'm here I'm going to patiently take all of their details and then tell them I'm going to report them to the Information Commissioner as they are in breach of the Data Protection Act (since I have withdrawn my censent for them to use my personal details for marketing purposes).
Idiots.- Caller: Sky
- AmeliaI've just had a call from them but didn't answer, I rang it back and it said it was sky and said if you do not want to receive further calls from us please ring this number 0808 202 1041 which I have done and have taken my number off of their list so hopefully they won't call back as they will get a mouthful from me. Hope this helps anyone that wants to get their number taken off of there database.
- SenoritaThis number is annoying me, I rang SKY about it, and was left quite shock, they don't have no record of this call in there file. They told me to get the persons full ID, Full name and number to get back to....
Best thing to do in the meantime, is:
DON'T AVOID THIS CALL!!!! THEY WILL RING & RING & RING YOU!!! JUST GIVE THEM A MOUTHFUL!!!! - guzzitrikeThis number has been calling most days for the last 2 months, if I am in now I answer the phone and just leave it off the hook quite funny when you hear someone saying hello, hello hello!!

- ChrisHAs above, cancelled Sky, kept getting random calls.
Do what I did - invest in a call blocker. It can cut out all the other crud, too.- Caller: Sky
- WheelieUK replies to sarah dodsonCan I suggest a call blocking unit might be the answer. I use Truecall (www dot truecall dot co dot uk) It can block anonymous callers, so your phone never rings. Alternatively, you can allow anonymous calls, but force to them to state their name and or company, before the call is connected to you. The unit also operates a caller "Star" list, where callers get through unchallenged, and a "Zap" list, when Truecall politely tells the caller their call is not welcome, and then blocks the call. This is a great feature, along with the way it manages anonymous callers. In my case, this allows those official companies, which block their number routinely. to get through and for you to block those that you dont want to speak to. You simply hang up.
I bought the unit in 2009 when I WAS getting 140 callers a week. SOME were genuine, many were telesale (Especially Halifax and Kitchens Direct). As an example, 2 yrs later, the unit has paid for itself (Only need caller id service which is free, saving on several call managemen systems which I do not need anymore) and, this week, I had 2 BLOCKED calls. All other callers were welcome and genuine.
I am not associated with company, other than being a very satisfied customer.
Hope this helps., - jwarlowGot a call from SKY on this number asking why I'd cancelled and had the cancellation team offered me anything to stay, would I come back etc

- anonymousJust answered a call from this number and the guy tells me first he's from an affiliate company associated with SKY! Then does the usual calls may be recorded for training purposes blah blah blah....then onto we need to confirm some details to confirm who you are (surely they just called me). So they guy starts with, can you confirm your FULL address and postcode (now I've only ever been asked for the first line of my address and postcode so I'm already thinking something isn't right), so i confirm this anyway and we move onto....can you confirm your password....(did he really just ask for my password), so i tell the guy I'm not giving him my password and ask what he needs it for? So he spouts off about needing it to confirm who i am which gives him permission to access my account and discuss it with me! I said surely you can access my account without need those details so he spouts of more rubbish about the data protection act thinking I'm going to change my mind and give it to him! (HA! Yeah right!). So i again tell him he's not having it to which there is a rather long pause (clearly trying to think of what to do next), so he trys a different approach....can i have you mother's maiden name, so i tell him he's not having this either....oh there's that pause again! At this point I said 'who did you say you were calling from again'....SKY was his answer....recall my first sentence....AFFILIATE company associated with SKY! Then my girlfriend hands me her phone which is on the SKY website so I tell the guy to let me read him a sentence from the SKY website...It says Sky will never ask for your password, don't think this registered with the guy as he still kept trying....at this point I hung up the phone.

- r bealeonce more they ring me and once more i am fed up with them
- Caller: sky
- OldBearCall starting time does coincide with me cancelling some Sky services. I just ignore them; calls go to answering machine, they then hang up. Calls not regular; only 2 or 3 since calling Sky. Annoying thing is: I didn't cancel all my Sky, just a slight downgrade in my package.
- Caller: No idea, they never leave a message.
- KtNot sure what the call was about, my phone silenced the call, it went to voicemail, and there was about 1 minute of audio from mechanical noises like from a fax, or printer. Basically, it sounded like the whirling of servos and thunking of it stopping intermittently.
- Call type: Unwanted
