they ring everyday, when i answer the line is silent, I'm with virgin now and quite happy, wish they would just stop!!!!!!!!!!!

Call from this number at 11am this morning, went to voicemail and no message left.

1471 gives this number and when I call I just get a 'Mailbox Full' automated message,assume it is still Sky, I used to be with them and they are probably touting for business.

Dec 2009: I am disabled and have been having to struggle to get to the phone only to find that its a silent  call. When I 1471-3 it, there is a comment that "The caller's mailbox is full." I belong to that privacy set-up, so no-one ought to be phoning me on a sales call.

I found this website and have read all the comments. I was with Sky until April 2009, but changed because Virgin offered a much cheaper package.

I finally phoned Sky on 08442-41-41-41, and complained bitterly. I have been told that they are removing my phone number from their system.
I sincerely hope they do.

Despite my call to Sky yesterday and their assurances that I had been taken off their calling list I have been called again today.

I have phoned Sky on 08442-41-41-41 options 2 and 5)again and spoken again to customer services, who are now sending an email through to the sales team to advise them to discontinue their calls.

Annoying isn't it, I left sky a few monthes ago cause they charge 65 quid when they come out & my sky + box was broke when I left they said we'll come out & replace it for free! I had one of the first sky+ boxes they do nothing to keep there custom !!Anyway with Virgin now so **** them!! :)

Keep caloling on my Mobile then hanging up. I call them back and a message tells me the mailbox I am calling is full. Just changed from Sky to Virgin. I would recommend everyone does this as I saved £45 per month.

silent call 4 times. have told sky i am with bt vision and not interested.

Many call centres make several calls at the same time and speak to the first few that answer.  If you answer after this you will get silence, just hang up don't ring back it will cost you a local rate charge 0845.  I have the full Sky HD package and they obviously know this. This number has phoned me several times and tried to sell me an extended warranty.  Each time I tell them I'm not interested and don't bother me again.  They still phone as I suspect they won't remove numbers.

Re: The silent phone calls, if I remember correctly didn't 'barclaycard" get fined for the very same thing a few months back??

Maybe going to ofcom or somewhere like that might be an idea.

I just received a call from this company on my mobile.  To be honest, if they're trying to sell extended warranties for satellite boxes, it's unlikely to be Sky.  Probably a third party that has found your number from a purchased list, either from a marketing company or from one of their affiliates.  This kind of cold calling, especially if it's silent calls or far too regular is harassment.

This is indeed Sky.  Because I checked this web site out yesterday I was ready for them when they called this morning.  <evil grin>  They were calling ex-customers to offer them a half price deal for a while.  I pointed out that despite trying to be an ex-customer since September and speaking to several Sky employees on the phone to try and sort it out I had received yet another letter yesterday stating that that they could not close my account until I pay the outstanding amount of £6.27.  I also pointed out that in January someone agreed that I did not in fact owe the £6.27 in question and he agreed they would credit my account and close it.  I sent today's caller off to chase it up and told him I wasn't interested in any deals.  I'm happy for them to continue to call me, at their expense, until this is sorted so that I can harass them for a change. I'm fed up having to pay for calls to them to ask them to sort out their mess.  Once it's sorted they'll be told to take my number off their system.

getting sick to the teeth of these bloody calls.surprised to find out this one is from sky.as i have just cancelled.cant someone do something about all these calls.have changed my phone number twice in the past year.

I recieved a call from 0845 2777380 did not answer phone and people or company did not leave message could have been sky me and my wife was with them for a 12 month contract lost my job in april 09 they were not understanding and if they dont get there money for the services had they get very uptight and argumentative would suggest to go with Virgin Media instead as they are brilliant.

its not sky, i had a phone call today and when i said i was not with sky they hung up, i phoned sky and sky dont care

Pretty much the same as everyone else.  I left Sky in December 2009 after having a unfair amount of trouble with my "viewing card" which was replaced three times but still kept denying service.  I  bought a Humax HD PVR and I have to say I haven't missed Sky but they obviously missed my money and charged me again.  This of course obliged me to call them on their premium numbers to get it sorted out.  Eventually they admitted they had made a mistake and refunded it.  I think they probably do this a lot to earn revenue from us and the silent 0845 calls which have been persistent for the past month are just an extension of this.  It's about time Oftel gave them a talking to!
