Recieved a call today from the above number, no message and hung up on answer.

My number is exdirectory, Sky do not even have it so  how the hell have these cowboys got hold of it?

Ignored and more ammo to cancel my sky subscription.

this number has been calling me 2or three times a day i answered it once only to get a ring tone on my phone so i hung up am trying to just ignore it now

I get so many from this number I just answer and cancel the call.  at least it makes me feel better that they are wasting their own money in calling me!..

Have a friend who gets a lot of these calls and asks for her account password.

had a silent call today from this number, worse than that it knocked the phone line out for half an hour. our phone line isn't through sky i had to phone bt from my mobile and get them to clear the line. really annoyed now. they phone on average once a week i am getting very very annoyed by it and the silent calls are ridiculous, especially if you are busy and you rush to grab the phone to find nobody there.

every day at about the same time they call and always dead when answered.

Yeah, since we canceled our Sky Sub we keep getting this on a daily basis, it's ridiculous!! We have registered with the TPS so  hopefully it will stop soon, if not I'm going to make an official complaint because we're having to unplug the phone some days.

Since I cancelled my Sky subscription a couple of weeks ago I am also getting at least 1 call a day from Sky. I spoke to someone there and told them I was no longer interested in any of their products and that I have switched to freesat. (really like it btw) I am on TPS also but being a prior Sky subscriber I guess they think they can harrass me daily.

SKY!! Ring several times a day, I have told them we are not interested in subscribing again but that doesn't stop them calling. I let the answering machine take all their calls now.

The annoying thing is if I try to contact Sky over the phone they refuse to spreak to me as the account is in my husbands name even though my husband gave a password giving them permission to speak to me, yet they are more than happy to speak to me when they are calling trying to sell their latest deals.

Have moved to BT Vision - fantastic in comparision with Sky. However that really does not say much so let me be clear - BT Vision is far better than Sky, so is the service support, so is the pricing and price package options.  Best thing I ever did for home entertainment was to leave Sky.  I just wish the'd stop calling.  They never called when they were receiving their subscription.  Hate Sky - love the alternatives especially BT Vision.

Yup we've been getting lots of silent calls from this number. We are with sky and have most things so why ring us!

I just let the answer machine get it as it costs them then!

08452777380. Silent calls several times a  day since I stopped my Sky subscription. I am registered with the TPS and will be reporting them.

Been getting silent calls from this number for a while now, only once have I answered and managed to speak to someone.

Now, annoying calls is bad enough but these silent calls also block my phone until they hang up. I can’t get a ring tone by hanging up.

My wife has a heart condition and if she has a heart attack while one of these calls is blocking my phone and it delays me getting an ambulance I will be looking to sue at the very least. I will be making this very clear to Sky.

had 2 calls from this number today( 08452777380) on my mobile, as a rule of thunb i never pick up unexpected calls from numbers i dont know, googled it when i got home and now i know who it is!

googled another number 08001218132, it has also been reported as a sky extended warranty parent company phone number so watch out for this number as well

call silent callgard on 0844 3722 325 register free and this stops it also google TPS and register free.

stops all unwarranted calls and if someone does call, you mention TPS and they immediately hang up and dont call u again!!!

Calls numerous times a day

The fashion of 'autodialling' which started in the USA a long time ago (and which is now a criminal offence there).
Being on the preference list doesn't stop someone dialling a random number and getting through to you, and that is what autodialling machines do, basically.
When you lift the receiver, you are trunked through to someone waiting to 'receive' your answer.
That's how they seem to get your number despite your preference subscription.
It's usually companies hired by Sky or BT to do thi scold calling and they use simple but effective tehcniques to obtain subscriber info from you; like asking for Mr Smith and hoping you'l say something like 'Err... no, this is the Jones' residence' for example. They they have the family name and telephone number, they can use public databases like the voters' register in the UK, to find you address (possibly) and so they can then bombard your house with crap through the letterbox AND telephone, and also place your particulars on a shared database use by all these companies.

Wish i'd read this before. I upgraded to HD last night. If i'd known it was Sky calling i'd of answered as i've been with them for years and may have got a deal:-(
