Phoned me at 8:45 last night and said conducting a survey in my area, I said I'm Ex Directory, he said we use a computer that randomly generates numbers, but he'd make a note that my number is not to be called again, fingers crossed that's the end of it.

I just received a call from these so called bunch of cronies.  I told them that I was on TPS and they still carried on.  It seems to me that the TPS is now basically useless and replaced with an organization with some teeth

Received a call from this number on 08/10/12 approx 19.20. I am ex-directory and registered with TPS! I didn’t listen for long but they did mention ‘survey’!

It seems Populus are making market research calls for the Conservative party among others.

Picked up the phone and the lady apologised and said she had a wrong number even before I spoke my phone number. Must have been a mind reader!

Found out it was Populous Market Research on 0191 276 0399 - when I called I spoke to a manager who apologised and said she would take me off the list. I have had no further calls in last few days, fingers crossed

called me 4 times since 10 am (its now 12.10 on a saturday)

Despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service I have had two calls from this market research company.

Been harassing us all morning since 9am, just answered it, not spoke and left phone on side lol

Am ex directory & registered with TPS. Told the caller this & she hung up. How do I find out how she got my number? First unsolicited call in years not at all impressed.

This numbers calls me every single day through the week on average 3 times a day. Getting beyond a joke. I am TPS registered, doesnt seem to make a difference.

Rang at 8.40pm. Dont know who these companies think they are ringing that time of night when im trying to reax after work.

Got called yesterday evening about 18:15hrs, polite, well spoken man introduced himself and his company (which name I can't remember), saying it was a survey and was there anyone in the household between 18 and 40 years old.
I thought that he might like to listen to the MotoGP commentary from the bike racing at Phillip Island, so I  left him listening to that.  In retrospect, I was less polite than him.  He eventually rang off.
 I'm registered with TPS but, as I understand it, TPS is only intended to filter out unsolicited sales calls, and market surveys don't fall into this category so legitimately get through, but evening calls like this are a No-no in my household.

Well actually Populus are a legitimate market survey company, and they PAY for surveys you participate in and when you get to £50. they send you a cheque!!  Makes a change from the rubbish or scams that normally happen!!

Getting calls on a weeky basis, claiming they are from the home office asking about internet useage

These people are beginning to get on my nerves. They have called a few times in the last week, each time I answer they hang up. I am ex-directory & registered with TPS.  I like a previous message about leaving the caller to listen to the MotoGP commentary, might try this out myself, maybe they'd like to listen to flog it or pointless or the antiques road trip. Might even record the shipping forecast & have it at the ready.
