Called evry day. Market research asking questions about my voting preferences re. Home Ofice,  I strung them along for quite a while. Going to report them to TPS as I'm registered so they shouldn't be calling.

Unfortunately, Market Research is not covered by TPS.  Populous is a legitimate Market Research company and the best way to deal with their calls is to go to the website and use the "contact us" facility.  Tell them to remove your data from ALL their data bases.  The reason for the ALL is that each survey is a separate entity and without ALL you could be 'phoned by another researcher for a different survey.  I have used this method successfully for other Market Research companies and have not had a legitimate call for 19 months.  However, the fake survey calls from overseas cannot be stopped.

TPS does NOT cover genuine market research calls. You need to ask the individual organisations to remove you from
their list. If the organisation continues to contact you, you can complain to the Market Research Society, who may be
able to investigate if the call was made by one of their members (see contact details below). However, if you believe
the purpose of the call was sales/marketing under the guise of market research please contact TPS.

It's better to just say you don't want to do the survey straight off rather than tell them to call back. It'll be in their policy that that caller will have to call you back and then its hardly fair to have a go at them later down the line

Why don't you just ask for your number to be removed from their datbase so its not called again? I agree these calls can be annoying but some of the surveys are on important subjects eg. politics, and you should give th epeople who work there a break

They're not randomly generated in the sense that eleven numbers are thrown together, they change the last two or so digits after already knowing the area code. Sometimes the calls are area specific say for questions on how a certain area vote therefore yes its random, but no not as random as you think and so it is possible you can be called twice. Tell them to block your number from being generated if you dont want to be called again.

I leave my answerphone on and only pick up when I know who it is,you could answer and just lay the phone down for a while, they would soon get fed up of talking to themselves. I don't know if it's true but I have heard they cannot disconnect until you break the link.

keeps calling

I've had numerous numbers make these idiot hung up calls to me,they want stupid fools to call back at cost to you of your time and money,they rely on you believing it might be important to you,it is not and it will cost you,totally ignore them,if you have a chat with them point out to them that every second of their life they waste is gone forever no time refunds for stupidity,they will never call you again !

Just say sorry I can't take this call I am trying to call an ambulance I've accidentally got my hands super glued to my fellas knob let their imagination run wild,leaving you laughing instead of upset......

please stop these pest calls

Just got a call from 08453130337, as always as soon as you answer they put the phone down, could hear other operators in the background talking, so fed up of all these calls, day in day out.

Got 2 missed calls yesterday and figured they'd call back if it was something really urgent, obviously not! Thanks for the tip offs everyone!

Fed up with these calls

Am just sick of this companies persistent calls on my mobile when I am at work or at home, after cutting them off straight away, they still keep calling.  You think they would get the hint that I do not wish to take part in any survey, have done surveys before and you get inundated with junk mail.  So if this company ever reads these posts, please do not call me again.

Have just received a call, as previously listed it is market research, had a look at their website if you want your number removed send an email to the following

They state that your number will be removed from their list within 1 working day

This number phoned, and when I said I could not hear and to hold on - they put the phone down!! I was willing to speak to them but they were either not legit or impatient!!! Either way I will not answering this number again

Thanks everyone. I got the call on a mobile. I didn't recognise it so didn't answer. I've Marked it up as Populous Pest for future reference.

Think they must have random number dial because they phoned my payg number which I don't use and have never given to anyone.... either that or orange are selling them a list of numbers.

They hung up when I answered.
