Called by this Company once again, am registered with TPS but have just checked the guidelines on the TPS website (am still going to write a complaint) and because they say it is a survey, they can be classed as market research and therefore do not have to abide by the TPS rules.
All we can do is two things...
1) Ask these bunch of !"%*$@# to remove our number from their database, this is unlikely as we are called by a autodialer which then sends the call to an operator, if no one is available, thats why we gets bleeps.
(Bleeps can also be associated with them sending out a test to see if a phone line is active, more info here... www.ofcom.org.uk/media/mofaq/telecoms/silentfaqa
2) Complete the TPS Complaint Form at http://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/
and inform them of the survey, cold calling and abusive staff.
If you have to blame anyone, then look at the lackluster uncaring Government who repeatedly makes laws with so many loopholes and not a big enough sentence  to justify Companies like this operating illegally.

they are correct in saying that market research companies are exempt from TPS guidelines, i used to work for Ipsos-MORI, hence why i have a fair amount of background knowledge on this.

But TPS rules state they have to be real market research companies, this bunch are most probably not registered with the market research society, or have be abiding to any acredited research standards. Thereby TPS should apply.

number called 2 Jan 08, 10.11 hrs and asked for house owner, when I asked what caller was wanting they kept asking if I was house owner and would not explain why they were phoning. I hung up. very rude & annoying female person on phone.

Got a call on the 4th of January asking if I was the houseowner. I said no as I don't own the house and the man said he would call back later, then he started pressing key tones.

When I answered it sounded like a drunk on the other end. But then a man asked to speak to householder. I replied that I don't respond to cold calling at all. Was told "OK, I'll keep calling 'til you do". Cheek!! Btw, I'm TPS registered but get lots of cold calls.

Called this afternoon, didn't answer, no message left.

After reading this information I will wait for the next time this number comes up on the phone and intend to answer as follows:

"Good Afternoon, Feature Homes, how can I help you?"

There might be a short silence...

Was called this evening (8.10pm). Much the same as previous entries; wouldn't identify the firm, location, etc.

Hung up and completed the TPS complaint form.

Pain in the [***] - hope ICO/Ofcom whack 'em good 'n' hard.

this company is weatherseal this call centre is based in glasgow i used to work for these yrs ago if you want to get your own back this is the managers number 07813946348 (vic black) cold call him and see how he likes it

Hi, just recieved call from these muppets when answered they hung up, so I then went to the link supplied by Jac http://www.weatherseal.co.uk/featurehome.php and found that they have a free phone number 0800 041 041. Give em a call have a chat.
Have fun folks (I tried to sell the young lady who answered some windows, she said they had plenty and hung up)

well guys, i just got a reply from TPS saying they are on this case. I'm replying to that mail with this thread address to drive the point home.

Keep complaining, this will make a difference.

Never answered , but this number has called several times recently. I'll be onto TPS tomorrow .

Called today at 6.30pm - i said 'hello?', no reply just noisy background, sounded similar to the kitchen of a chinese takeaway!!

hung up, dialled 1471 and they were still on the line , they put phone down when 1471 dialled through and the bleeps were heard.

Got a call from this number at 10.05 this morning, answered to find nobody there just got the beep as described above.

Yep, they called us on the 27th but we missed call.  Called again to-day and they never spoke so I dialled 1471 and like Niki they hung up when the bleeps were heard.

Called but when I answered was just a tone.  Not the first time I've had it, either.

They called me today as well at 13.20, but i was at work, so missed it.

this number comes up nearly everyday, they never leave a message and I tend never to pick up.It is still a nuisance as they seem to be calling later and later in the evening.

These guys have been calling us daily and over the weekends too.  Asking for home owner.  We have requested to be removed from list but we are not.

I have copied a statement a previous thread had left, may be useful!

I would like to know under the Data Protection Act 1998 where you got my mobile phone number, 0xxxxxxxxxx. I would also like you to cease from using my data and erase it from your records as the unsolicited and constant cold calling from your company is causing me unwarranted distress as laid out under Part II, section 10, para 1 a and b. I expect notification that removal of my data from your system has occurred within 5 working days from this electronic message, sent 15th January 2008, otherwise I shall be referring the matter to the Information Commissioners Officer, as per my legal right.

I keep getting calls from 08453306769 (every day) to my mobile.  I might lead them down the garden path by agreeing to seeing one of their reps.  And when their rep turns up, I'll just answer the door and say I don't know anything about arranging an appointment.
