I found that the mention of OTELO usually focuses their minds. And I have reported them to OTELO with success. If they call just leave the phone on the table until THEY hang up, after all it is costing them to call you.

- Sam| 1 reply3 are basically trying to cheat people with their contracts term and conditions..I bought a laptop (sony) by entering through a 3 agreement in 2008 nov for a minimum duration of 24 months with internet service.I paid £40 pounds and even sometime more for the entire period on time without fail.Last November'10 my contract came to an end and I was expecting a notification from 3 to my house address mentioning about the end of agreement but nothing was sent and didn't know that I have to give them notificaion.So to avoid 3 going and debiting another £40 from my account after the expiry period I cancelled my direct debit arrangement through my bank.
I spoke to one of their call centre reps last week (a very frustrating guy) to see my account status and he mentioned that it is suspended.But I asked him to cancel the contract because the duration is complete and I don't want to extend the contract.He didn't do this and simply frustrated me for around 30 minutes from my phone to just extend the contract and also persuaded me by offering 2 months free interenet and bla bla.....Even after my repeated insistence that I don't want to extend the contract due to personal reasons he kept annoying me and as a result I have to end the conversation by disconnecting the line.
A day later someone from the above number called me with a reference and said me that we are advanced debt collections team from 3 and there is an outstanding debt of £80 that you have to owe us.I said to the guy that I don't have to pay even a single penny as I finished the contract and according to the terms and conditions I was expecting a notification from 3 about my end of contract 30 days prior to the contract ending period.I also told that there are 2 methods of cancelling the contract outside the minimum duration period.They are 1.either the customer can call 30 days prior to the contract ending period and request for either cancellation or extension.2.The company (3 mobile) can give u a notification 30 days prior to the contract ending period asking whether you want to cancel or extend.In this case its not my fault and there isn't clear understanding of the terms of conditions and no justification for my outstanding debt of £80 for a service that I never used.Finally, the guy managed to cancel my contract but still mentioned that you have to owe us £80 and a note has been mentioned.He also went on adding that if I don't pay the outstanding due, that my details will be passed to the credit rating agency and it will affect my credit score bla bla. He sounded like an indian.
Until now there is no letter from 3 even after cancelling my contract and if we ask them they are saying that there is no procedure in 3 for notifying customers about their contract cancellation.Just thought that what would have happened if I haven't cancelled the direct debit and have left the country for a couple of months.So they would have just kept continued taking the money off your account for the service which you are not using.If you question them they would have said you have'nt notified us so we can't refund your extra money.
Pls can anyone help me to fix this problem, as I've now started receiving these calls frequently from the above no and when picked no one speaks and they expect you to give them a ring at your own cost and waste your time and money.Can you also tell me if there is a way to stop receiving calls frm this no.I also need legal help if there is one.

- Lynz replies to SamI too have had a similar situation when I got my first contract phone through 3 about over a year and a bit ago. My 18 months was up on my contract an had received no notification through 3 so done exactly what you did, and cancelled my direct debit account though internet banking. I receive calls from a debt collection place before christmas saying i oew 3 a certain amout of money, for reasons which I thought my contract had finished. So I paid that and they told me I wouldn have no furter payments to 3 at all. Now these people call me from this number and will not tell me what problem they have with my account but asked for mydate of birth and home address, they now want me to call them with how many minutes I had with my 3 contract?! Then they will tell me, this is frustrating me as I have no idea what they want and why they are calling.
I do not want to fork out any money to them, and then get bombarded with other calls from other agencies. The person I spoke to was rude and laughed at me when I asked what he was calling for.
So I too need some help in finding out what they really want and how to go about this!! Not only is it frustrating me, its upsetting me too.

- SWillI never ever got the phone from 3 because they sent it to the wrong address, but these guys keep calling me to discuss my account. They phone at the most inconvenient times and then become confrontational and argumentative when you try to get information out of them as to who they actually are. An awful bunch who I despise! They are pests who have no idea about customer service or legal rights of consumers. They are modern day bullies who have no brains.

- mr 954I got calls from this no and they ask my details an when i said i cant give it to u they hang up.i am also i dispute with three regarding upgrade and costumer service as they r having there call centers in India and they couldn't understand the level of costumer service expected here. I had been called 4 to 5 times regarding up grade and offered each time stupid contracts which i had cleared i m not interested and still received same offer and when i decided to leave 3 it was a night mare to get the pack code from them now they r charging we some cancellation charges which i had made my mind i m not going to pay. More over i had written them clearly that i do not want to be contacted in any way and sent me my latest bill in post and if it is clear and understandable i will pay or i will refuse it.i and asked if i m not happy with the way they r resolving this issue i would have to complaint further but i m confused where i could log a complaint about it..
please could some one advise me what shall i do now please..

- JOHWe have had the same problem as the rest of you they wont stop ringing us and are a pain in the [***] we have told them that we are getting are solicortor onto it but then the passsed it onto advance collections in india,what a bunch of rude people they are ,i read one coment onn here just leave the phone on the table when they ring you they will soon get pissed off
- Michael replies to Daz64I just received a phone call from 08453550306 too on Sunday 19th June 2011 at 4:28pm I've paid the Bills I'm sure I'm paying the same Bill three times over and they say it's a different Bill for previous Bill yet I don't use that previous number for the other Mobile Phone anymore I'm still having to pay so someone is using it and I'm still having to pay it I've told them to cancel that Bill and still getting phone calls from them. Can't be anymore Bills left to pay I've paid them all and got receipts to proof it from paypoint.
I didn't answer the call as I in the Kitchen thank god it says their closed Sundays.
I believe it's ATD I've told them that I will make the rest of the payment of £73.37 about the 6th July 2011 or even on the 6th July again and again when different people ring it is anonying and I can't give the money that I haven't got then threats of passing debt callers round if I don't pay this time which I don't want I've agreed to pay it about the 6th of July if my next pay day comes in early so they no need to send Debt Collectors round. It's a terrible going on I don't know who these people think they are I'm not made of money can't just give it out like that it's like they want it now nah got another think coming. - MichaelATD is from 3 Three passes ATD on to you if you haven't paid the Bill on time too late 3 told me this that they will pass ATD Debt Collectors to me when can't pay bill in the last seven days of reminder on outstanding Bill.
Not a good thing to have that at you all the time from ATD or any other Debit Collectors I don't like Debit Visa Cards as they keep coming back unpaid and charge £4 to £5 being late on Visa Debits cause of they've not received payment so I just ask for Giro Slips and payment get there via Giro Slips in 24 hours. I just thought I let you know from my experiences with ATD and 3. - NikkiI've cancelled my 3 contract, and have requested they send me the final bill which they've agreed (I have this in writing). So I shall carry on ignoring this caller but if it continues after I've paid my final bill then I'll write to 3 again to get them to remove me from their list of people to harass.
You'd think they'd have a note on people's accounts (like mine) to say that we've agreed that my contract is cancelled and that they are going to send me the final bill, rather than just allowing this company to carry on ringing me.

- I batchelorFrom my personal experience i think that Three is in finacial trouble and there chasing even small amounts. My problems began last month when i sent a phone back and they now claim to have cancelled the contract, do i belive em, i doubt it, if this persists im going to contact watchdog as there seems a lot of people with the same problem. We had a similar problem with N T L a few years ago just before they went bust and virgin bought them out. I will post when ive contacted watchdog

- I BatchelorI was right the onslought of calls have started.and there not doing themselves any favours, the number they keep ringing is the only one that weve got left on three, so if they keep harrasing this one this will be canceled as well. The "email" to watchdog has had no response as of yet but thats not say there not looking into it. So for now the answer to it is go to a reputable company basically anyone but 3. And the company harrasing you basically want you to ring them, even if like me you never took the contract out, 3 will cancel it but not the company who bought the duff debt that never was. They have now took to leaving a recorded ansa phone message with a scottish accent just to make it sound good, asking me to ring them. Well at least its costing them on a daily basis, we are keeping these as evidence for when we cancel this last phone.
