They call me 3-4 times a day too and threaten to even come round my house.

I repeatedly ask for details in writing of how/why/when etc i owe the debt and they actually refuse.

They have no power to take you to court or come round your house so don't worry, i suggest you be as rude to them as they are to you, threaten them back and just have fun with them, after all it's not costing us money hah.

i had my first call from these, i thought they were legit, i gave them my post code.

but atleast now i am prepared. i will pick up the phone and just stay silent, it works for all those stupid sales calls so it should work for them

I have received calls from this company all week asking for Julie. I have repeatedly told them that there is no Julie here.
Today was the last straw when they phoned at 8am. I am a night shift worker and had just gone to sleep at 7am. I am furious.

I've been called a couple of times by these people, chasing an (imaginary) debt from British Gas, but they've been quite polite to me so far, and the fault for the debt lies with British Gas themselves, who told me they'd fix it months ago, and instead passed my details to these Intrum Justicia people.
They haven't been aggressive, just misguided.

If you are recieving calls for other people not at your address I would sugesst writing a (horrible) letter to Intrum at their Liverpool address. I would'nt leave the request at the hands of one of their call centre agents - if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Depending on who you owe the money to, yes they can take you to court and yes they can send out a "field agent" (note the distinction from a bailiff) to your property withouth it being considered as trespass. Each creditor will have their own requirements with regard to suing and taking field action, the likes of British Gas, Ebay/Paypal and Sky they cant do f&^k all if you dont pay. However UU do have a tendancy to take legal action where the debt hasnt been recovered through a collection company.

This number has called me twice today, and I called the Liverpool number found on this board and noone can find any details on me.  I gave 3 postcodes of address I have lived at over the last 12 years and nothing.  The second time they called there was no one on the other end.  They've told me to wait untill I recieve a letter from them with the details.

Now I have to sit and worry about it.  I've run a credit report and theres nothing on there.  I just don't know what to do.

    Any advise??

I got a call from them just now while at work asking for some guy called Michael.  Said they had the wrong number and they just hung up.  Checked the number on google and found this thread.  I'll brace myself for further calls, and maybe have a bit of fun winding them up.

Not sure if they were exeptionally rude as everyone seems to just hang up instantly when calling a wrong number these days.

I recently moved house, and the man who lived here before me seems to be having problems with these people, because they ring about 8 times a day, usually nobody's there, but the time when they have spoke, the man had a very strong liverpool accent and didn't sound too happy when i told him that the man he was looking for had moved out.

For me it's similar. They call me. Either silence, or a guy says this exact sentence "Hello Mr. (my name), We are from Credit somthing. Please confirm your first line of address and post code". That's when I start screaming and they get aggressive and I close the line in their faces.
I also got the Intrum Justisia message with some sort of reference call and a Liverpool address.
These sons of [***] need to be reported and shut down. This forum over here has enough info to disable all their phone numbers!

So, what I was ring up my mobile op, and ask how to disable incoming calls from certain number and he referred me to http://www.tpsonline.org.uk. They have information about similar case scenarios and the ability to block incoming calls from fraudsters.

Hope my experience with these [***] is useful.

Lee, just block their calls. The purpose of the entire call is to complete a set of information they stole from some online sites about you, so they can do Identity theft like opening a bank account under your name or something similar!

Just ignore them. Don't even confirm your name if they get it right!

Unsurprisingly I got called again by them this morning, about 8.20am (fortunately I was awake and chomping away at some bran flakes).  A man on the line this time. Asked for this Michael guy and I said I got a call from this number yesterday and said it was a wrong number so please delete the number from your system.

The guy then says that his colleague spoke to a woman yesterday (unlikely since I am male and it's my mobile phone that i've had for 6 years) and they said that Michael wasn't in.  I said that I don't know this guy and said it was a wrong number yesterday and the bloke said I was lying.  I said "Don't effing tell me what happened yesterday, I was effing there and you weren't you stupid scouse c***."  He hung up.  Think i'll add them to my mobile reject list.

I have received loads of calls from these people who may I add are rude and aggressive, its lucky for them they are calling by phone and not knocking at the door with their repulsive manner!!!!!! I have as requested sent them a list of my outgoings and incomings only to be told I sent it to the wrong address. (The adress was supplied by them) They call at stupid times only to hang up on me which is a huge wind up!!!!!!! now I just ignore their calls and am in the process of getting a new sim!! Dont give them the time of day is whatI say!!

I've had them on my mobile's ignore list for the past fortnight, they seem to try and call at least once a day, including at 8.30pm on a Saturday.  Today I got a bloody text message asking for this guy they seem to think has my number to call urgently!!!! Arggghhh, leave me alone!!

After tha hassle of speaking to these people and them not finding any details on me. I recieved a text message from them saying they had a matter to discuss with someone whos not me.  I called them and said this was not his phone number, I have said that if the call or contact me again I will be informing the police.  I've not heard from them since and its been 10 days!!!!

Like Sha above, I love getting sales calls.

Even if you're not up for an argument, you can still ruin their day by saying

    "Hello? Hello?"

Wait for pause as their automatic dialler assigns an agent to answer the now-connected call. (Note: this is a great indicator of an unsolicited call.)

"Good evening, may I speak to MR xxxx."

"Oh yeah, just give me a moment -"

Don't hang up! Just walk around with the phone in your hand whilst you go about doing your everyday tasks. Or leave the phone on on top of your TV. Or go to the bathroom and flush the toilet. Or...well, use your imagination! Please leave comments on results!
