Report a phone call from 202-459-7122 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- StormyI keep getting calls from this number about reducing credit card interest. I pressed 1 and asked the very poor speaking English lady how they do this. She stated that she would take my information and her supervisor would call back within 30 minutes with a lower interest rate. SCAM! I would not give her any information.
- Caller: UNKNOWN
- KathyThis number showed up on caller ID as Washington, DC. Recorded message said my eligibility is about to expire to lower interst rates on credit cards, but begining of message was garbled so I could not identify the company. Woman's voice.
- bpcalls, but no one there; calls back; same.
- Nigerian phone scamThis person is likely out of country.
In a voice broadcasting system such as the one they are using, they can enter any phone number. This phone number could be any random number they entered, so 202-459-7122 is likely just the number they picked.
There is also a way to make these calls from any other country such as Nigeria (as one person mentioned the voice of the live operator sounded Nigerian).
Annoying, but not sure what you can do.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is a new twist to the classic Nigerian e-mail scam. They've just moved on to using phone broadcasting.
If so, very clever. - LindaI got a call from the same number and filed a complaint with the FTC's Do Not Call Registry at https://www.donotcall.gov/. If everyone who gets a call from this number floods the DNCR with complaint filings, then it's more likely that they'll do something to stop this person / company from calling.
- HeatherReceived a recorded msg on my voice mail from this number. We are located in Washington State. Didn't catch the name of the caller but she said this was my last opportunity to lower my interest rates. I KNOW it's a scam because my family is involved with Comsumer Credit Counciling Services to handle our creditors. The call itself makes me angry because our number is on the National DO NOT CALL registry.
- Caller: vm recording cut it off
- lissaI answered the phone and got dead air. Nothing. Thought that weird so googled the number. Found this site. I'm glad I didn't end up with the pushy guy saying I'd be forced to declare bankruptcy! Wow. The nerve of some people. And yes, like everyone else, I'm on DNC list. I wonder if they just took the DNC list and are calling only people on that. lol
- Caller: Cell Phone DC
- mmjust got a call from this number. didn't hear a hang up or dial tone - just dead air. googled it and was surprised to see the history. thanks everyone. won't answer it again.
- MI don't usually pick up the phone, unless I know who the person is (have caller ID). I picked up, said hello and they hung up. I then called the number and got the message: The subscriber you called is not in service. The person at the other end of this number evidently has a screw loose.
- flossyNothing more to add about this number except it appears as "cell phone" with no name. Hoping 1 day, phone scams will end. In what lifetime is the real question!
- MimiIt said "Cell Phone" on my caller ID; didn't recognize the # but picked it up thinking it could be someone I know calling from their cell. It was a recording & I hung up. I am a credit card fraud agent & have to talk with people after they've given their cc#'s to these callers & have been charged about $1000 to "lower their interest rate"...
- Tired of it allThese constant calls for credit card reduction, home loans = will there every be a telephone privacy act where these people stop calling. I believe it is the Internet's problem, every time one buys something on line, accesses a web site or gives their information in any form, I believe it is sold to third party organizations. No need in signing up the DO NOT CALL LIST or pay for UNLISTED NUMBER - neither work. I think they get away with calling because there is no actual live person, just a voice message. I waited for the caller to answer and said "please take my number OFF your calling list." He said "yes, thank you and have a good day." NEVER asked what my number was.
Now they are starting to come in on our cell phones. I wonder how many people fall for these scams.- Caller: Didn't say
- inasimplerhymeGot the "Account services" recording. I hit * and talked to an operator. I asked to be removed from their calling list and they hung up. I hate them with as much passion as I can muster.
- Caller: Account Services
- RedReceived a call from this number about my "Visa" card. They had some accurate information regarding balance on my card, date of last payment and current several of the first digits of my card number. They wanted to know my credit limit and wanted to "verify" the last 4 of my social. They even said, "Please ONLY the LAST 4." I am embarrassed to say I was duped. I called my credit card co. and double checked the call, they confirmed it was a scam. I cancelled the card immediately. They called back on my home number and I informed them I cancelled the card. They became very rude and upset, which only confirmed my suspicions.
- Caller: Card Services
- BruceRe: Lowering credit card interest. I pushed #1 to talk to a live person. I asked that my number be removed...they hung up. SCAMMER
- KristinI'm on the other end... Since they changed area codes, every time someone calls the number back, they get my cell phone if they are from the same code (last digits are ignored when dialing). Thank goodness one woman that called back explained why I was getting all these random calls & hangups...
I'm staying polite and telling people they have dodged a scam, but this is really getting annoying! Hope the "they change numbers after 90 days" comment is true! - Michael202-459-7122, "Last chance to lower your interest rate." Pressing 2 to remove from call list is not functional. Already on donotcall anyway.
- Syd ViciousGo to www.heatherfromaccountservices.com for more info. The bang your credit card well over $500 but forget to do any work to lower interest rates. Also Google "Ran David Barnea." This was the first time "Heather" made a robo-call to me -- but I've gotten too many of these from "Diane," etc.
- Caller: Ran David Barnea
- Gale SchrepferI am so tired of calls from this number. I assume it is automated because if I don't answer the phone soon enough there is no one on the other end of the call. If they call about credit card interest rates they have no idea which cards I have or what my rates of interest are. I have actually pressed the button the recording specifies to tell them I do not want to receive the calls, but when I tell them that, they hang up on me.
- JohnJust got a call from 2024597122 - a recording telling me they can reduce our interest payments." I reported them to the DNC list folks. I also tried to call that number and tell them to stop calling, but got a message saying "the subscriber you have dialed is not in service" then a message saying "the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service," so it appears they're using some kind of mirroring system to create bogus call origination numbers or something... I've a rope and would gladly use it on these slime.....
