I got a call from 202-459-7122 and he wanted to lower my interest rate on my credit cards.  This came right after I had ordered my credit report.  I do not know if this had anything to do with this.  I gave him no info, he did not give me his name and is going to call back.  I am going to call Transunion to find out about this.

Ther was a message on my answering machine from this number.  They lady's voice was American.  She talked as if someone was on my end of the phone answering questions she asked.  Usually, my answering machine doesn't answer questions left on my machine let alone holds a conversation. Scamers like this will try to record you to saying "yes" so they can dub it onto whatever they are selling/stealing. I will be watching my accounts and credit bureaus.

I got a call from them, too. I am in MD. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

They left a message, itis something about credit cards and lowering interest rates.

This number was listed as "Unknown Number" on my phone. I didn't pick up the first time, but was surprised when they called again only seconds later. I still didn't pick up. That was probably smart, though.

A slightly new wrinkle on the old credit-interest-rate-reduction scam. This time instead of hanging up when my answering machine kicked in, they left a recorded message by a fast talking woman. She sounded like  a young, white American. Anyway, it was the same old generic offer to reduce my credit card rates to 6.9%. Yeah right, and Obama wasn't born in the USA and the moon landing was faked.

Just received a called from this number. my caller showed "out of area".  I did not answer.  They left a message about credit card rates, I did not listen to it. I'm also on the DNC list.  I blocked this number.

Just now answered "unknown name" 202-459-7122-when I pressed 1,the caller said it was account services,,I played with her a bit...and tod her I could not understand her and when I asked where she was from she hung up.  I am also on the DNC List..For the gent that wants a report number, Go to FTC.gov

On Aug 12, 2009 at 1:15 pm, the 202-459-7122 called and I answered since this is our area code.  The recording was one of the "we'll give you lower interest rates" kind.  I hung up but returned the call and reached a woman who hung up as soon as I said that I'm on the do not call list, then when I tried again, I received the recording "the subscriber you have dialed is not in service..."

Funny, same thing just happened to me after requesting a credit report. I used the "official" website annualcreditreport.com. I sent them a complaint about it since I noticed this has happened to a few people.

They called saying that it was an offer to send a $300 to cover utilities.
Asked who I was and gave fake name.
Then they asked if I was authorized to accept the check and I said sure.
Then she switched me to 'verification' person who said the call was recorded but I could barely hear here and then she said it again but this time she asked if I was the authorized person to make purchases and said that they would be charging $25 on to phone bill. I said no that I would not authorize a charge and then she repeated it again and I said that I refused to accept any charges. They then hung up. No name just  202-459-7122  on my caller ID

msg left on my machine said it was to take advangage of lowering my intrest rate to 6.6 percent and time was running out sheesh dont these guys ever give  up am reporting it to the do not call list that I am on

8/13/09  Just got a call from this number and the same story- credit card - which one? visa- which visa? hung up her name was Heather

Robocall from Heather of Account Services. Its been a few months since she's called me and it was a different number. I wasn't home so found the message on the machine. The recording sounded a little different, there were long pauses between sentences.

I thought the b*tch had given up calling me. Oh, well, can't have everything.

Reported to the do not call but since the number is spoofed not sure what that will accomplish. But will have to think of some new ways to harass the operator when they call and I'm not terribly busy.

Received the second of 2 calls from 212-459-7122 8/14.  Both times they left a partial message

08/15/09 -9:50 AM. I just received a call from 202-459-7122. There was no one on the line, just some clicking. After 90 seconds the call terminated. I looked up the number on Caller ID but it gave no information except the number and said, "Out of Area".

I then called the number on Skype and got a message that the number was not in use...I am on the DO NOT CALL list and I think the callers system will not play the recording when it recognizes a DO NOT CALL number. They are using an automatic dialer program that is not very technically advanced.

Got a call today at 12:14 PM, from 202-459-7122, the caller id showed it as "Cell Phone DC".  I picked it up and the automated system kicked and talked about lowering my interest rate on my credit card.  I reported this to the FTC, since I am on the DNC registry.

Got the same call, but was on my cell and did not answer. As I am looking for a government job I thought for some reason it may be coming from a potential employer, (i.e. a DC area code #202). I tried to call it back but got this is not a working number.  There was no name attached, just the number.  Hence my Googling here and glad to find out all the info on these scums! I am sure they will call back sometime since they didn't get an answer the first time, so now I will be wary!! Thanks to all for the info, and be careful with your info and credit.

Just received a call from them - They kept saying that they were my credit card company, but when I asked them to identify who my credit card company is, they kept saying "we are your visa and mastercard company" - I knew the that it was a scam so I started telling this guy how big of a piece of shite he is and he responded that he is closing my credit card account and I will have to declare bankruptcy.... Then the loser hung up.....  I agree with others, this has to stop, because some moron is actually gonna fall for this....
