7000$ grant from gov. i know its a scam read on other posts same number and name
john bornman also a number previously to that one 14029820563 he calls himself sam smith

I got the same call from the same number i knew it was a scam when they requested 99 dollars. i only thought it was real for a second because i had recently filled out financial aids/loans for school.

I got the same call about a 7,000 grant from the government....been calling the number back for weeks.

Man called stating he needed my bank account number to deposit a $7000 government grant that I was qualified for.  Gave me "grant confirmation number AL726" and asked me to call his supervisor at 202-559-7678 to have the funds released to me.

Ok... I get a call about 20 minutes ago. A woman (who had very thick accent) tells me that she is calling to let me know what I have been selected to receive a $7000 grant (mind you that I do not have to pay back) because I am a law abiding citizen as well as pay my taxes. I asked her for her name... "Kim" she says... Ok Kim with an accent... now she is talking to fast that I can hardly keep up with her, so I made her repeat everything. I asked her "how did you get my cell #" she claimed because it came from the goverment. Ok, it's possible I suppose... she asked me to verify my name-- I said "you called me therefore you have my name... She verfified and spelled it correctly... she gave an old address to where I used to live... I told her that was incorrect... I then proceeded to ask for her number as when she called it came up "unknown" she said she would give it to me.. I waited when then she asked me for my date of birth.  I advised her, to give me her direct # and I would give what she wanted (knowing good and well no one is going to call me and just offer me $7000) she gave me the number of 202-559-7678 at it belong to a Mr John Dorman or Borman (again had to understand) so as I thought about it I went ahead and gave me new address.  She then asked me how did I want to receive my money... I asked her what my choices were.. She said "we can deposit into your account", "put it on your credit card" or send you a check... I said... "check please" if I was smart and thinking fast, I would say to Western Union it to me.... Kim (incognito) gave me a Validation code of "LH225" and when we hang up to make sure I call this Mr John Dorman/Borman.  We hung up and I immediately call the # she provided me with.  The gentlemen answered the phone by saying his name and throwing in "general manager" on top of it.  I asked what the name of this company was, boy was that the wrong thing to say.. he let loose on me with that thick accent saying.. " I do not know who you are.. I told him my 1st name... he said he was GM and this was his phone and why was I calling him" I told him -- "I dont know you either but you called giving me $7000 dont you find that strange"? he mouthed off something and started to hang up... I said 'Hey wait a minute. for a GM you sure are unprofessional... he asked what did I want from him.  I asked him "do you have a website" oh no!! here he went again... he said "you call me wanting to know who I am, I tell you we are going to send you $7000 because you were chosen to receive this grant money... Do you think this is a scam or somthing"? I said to him... I do not know, why dont you tell me.... with that he hung up!!!!   I have already turned this in to the authorities. Apparently he goes by different names, his number is out of Westchester DC.

I just got the same "Kim" and "John Boreman" and same code "LH225" to call the same number "202-559-7678"
I also asked for a check. My phone and address were correct, but my name was a short form that I use when asking for info on the internet. I knew this wasn't any type of a government agency, or they would have had the correct information.

Awarded $7000 in a Goverment grant for being good and to call this number and talk to John Borman to have check mailed to me. A scam of some sort. Didn't waste my time. Do you think I left money on the table?

I received a call today from the same woman with the thick accent.  I received the same phone number and the same conformation and same name John Bordman.  She told me to call right away.  I could not understand her so i asked her to repeat herself over and over again.  I think she was getting angry with me.  I would like to know how she got my name, number and address.

Just got a phone call 30 minutes ago some lady calls me saying her name is Sophy and that I was chosen with 15 other people for a grant money of $7,000 dollars and she gave me confermation number of ho141 and told me to call 202 402 4177 and call Phil Webster. So I call and then he is asking me how far is the nearest Western Union so I can pay some type of fee of $120 dollars once he said that I was likie no this is a scam.

I got scam out of 1700 dollars  from theses fake government grant people my story is the same. As everybody else story

I know this is one number short, and that's part of the problem.
I had the exact same experience as the people who have responded below.  When I turned down the money the woman said 'Bull [***]' and hung up on me.
What a job to have!  Calling people to try and scam them?

Yes i too just recieved a phone call from a man with a deep foriegn accent. stated all the samethings as the rest of you said but i have a confirmation number jk140 and his name was james this time he claimed i would have to pay a 250$ fee because ny state taxes and a state to state transfer. I told him im want to know why these people would send me a 7000$ amount and not just take it out of the 7000 amount he said because it was attached to my name. I laughed and then asked for a website to check on this grant and i would call him back he supplyed "www.mygrant.gov" well this is not a working site and everytime i stated i will do research and if it is real he stated" I told you dont worry about it i said it was real  and i will stay on the phone with you while you send the fee and then i will stay on the phone with you  until you recieve your funds." I said wow whats from stopping you from hanging up once i send the money your asking for. Hesaid its not a scam dont worry. well it is a scam and so i hung up and am going to report this to government officials

The same exact thing just happened to me, it was a lady named Sophie. Strong accent. The man who she had me call was named Wayne Bruce. (seriously) I actually laughed when she told me that. The number that Sophie called from was 212-777-3455 K B Net News. she had me call Wayne at 202-609-7027. I called him back once I found this site and wished him to hell.

I justhad this number I had to call 202-609-7027 they told me I had to call and talk to Wayne Bruce to recieve $7000 if I sent them a $100 dollar western union transfer for an application fee. I have called the Government and they said this was indeed a scam. Be aware there are scammers out there that will try to get you for any thing they can.

This number just called me n I feel so bad for those of u who got scammed I WRK FOR THE US GOV LUCKILY I KNO TOO MUCH INFO ABout grants AND HOW THEY WRK. THE ONLY REASON THEY GOT MY NUM IS BECAUSE MY 12 yr old nephew signed me up for something via internet.AND THE MAN COULDNT ANS ANY OF MY QUESTIONS I TOLD HIM TO CALL ME BAK AT 330 so when he does my BOSSn I are going to track n trace the call n c if something can b done about this.

Yup, I just received the same call and they wanted $250.00 from me. I was thinking about calling them back and telling them if they don't release my $7,000 without me paying a single penny I am going to turn them in. Thanks for the info everyone.

My numer was from 585-243-9768 and the number I was told to call back was 202-436-9770

I just received a call from an Unknown number stating I was selected for a $7000 grant from the government. The man hd a heavy accent and refused to give me his name or company name. I was told my money could be given to me via my saving/checking account or my credit card. When I asked if I could receive a check I was asked if I wanted to have a check sent then told "well you wait on that" before I was promptly hung up on.

I just got a call from 926-543-2166 asked me to call 202-621-0716 to claim $7000. I told him that I don't believe it and it must be a scam..... crooks.

I got a call from the same person but the guy name was Harry Jones. He wanted me to send Him $140.00. I told Him to take it out of the money he was going to send me.
