Ok... I get a call about 20 minutes ago. A man (who had very thick accent) tells me that he is calling to let me know what I have been selected to receive a $7000 grant.  He gave me a claim number and told me to call 202-407-9092 because I am a law abiding citizen as well as pay my taxes.  I told him I knew it was a scam and to remove my number from the call list.

received a call from someone who claimed to be a part of the u.s gov @ 2001 independence st @ 202-292-6660 i was told to call 202-738-1563 and put in the codeRL242 to receive  7000.00 tax free with no payback required. needless to say i reported them to the government. ;)

I received this bogus call as well today.  Thick accent calling from Canada but claiming to be in DC and I was randomly selected for a $9000 grant. conf#A421G, phone #202-238-4412, Told to Speak with a Max Newman.
These people are SICK!

I feel bad, I really think that 7000 dollars would help me a lot but in the other hand its [***] scam!!!!
I'm already in western union to send 310 dollars to Brad Johnson, but there's a long line in western union so I decided while waiting I will get my phone and searched it up and then it lead me to these website which is im glad reading all the messages from other people who almost got scammed by that all means I don't have to send my money which I work very hard on every cents .pls... don't fall for it those people are sick!!!!

I got a call from a guy with a heavy accent from an unknown #. Told me I got $1000 grant and to call 202-621-0436. So I did just to see if this was legit. And to have them stop calling me to be honest. So I called and frank Anderson was the guy I talked to. Accent as well. And he said it was 7000$ and then he was stating all this stuff and I asked if it was real and legit bye said it was because he didn't want to make trouble for me or whatever his reason was. Then he said I need to go to Walmart at a money grant place. To call him before I Get in the store and he would stay on line with me until I get my money in my hands. And that it would b cash. Also I would need to bring i.d and $290 for some tax thing but I would receive it back with the $7000. He told me to call him when I am going and no rush. But I don't think im gonna call back. But I am wondering what if its actually real and I'm walking away from $7000 ....?

That's what I'm thinking. What IF it's legitimate? That's a lot of money we could use...

They told me $320 for a security deposit to recieve $7000 . It has to be a Scam .

Just got a call on my cell 000000000  they have called twice a day so i decide to answer it and its the same thing as u people have said.i call this number 2024079092 and talk to Anna Johnson and she tells me I need 280.00 to be able to send the check to me to make sure its me and I have to have ID to prove that its me. Hmmm never had to pay 280.00 to prove its me ever!!! She told me since I done have the money now I can call her back when I do and she will put on my check on hold. I also asked take it outta of the check and all she said was we have to prove it is you.Really? Since when does money prove who you are? Im not sending anything to these crooks! I aslo asked how did you get my name and number and she said do u remember when the democrats were calling people to do surveys thats how we got it. Really?

I just got a call 15 min ago telling me i was going to be given a $9000 grant. From 202.407.9056. It was sorta fun playing along for about 2 minutes. I could not understand his name. I asked if there was a number i could call to verify this was a scam. All he did was repeat his spiel. When he asked for my age, i just told him, no thanks and hung up. From the government my @*s!

Mine came from 202-210-0054 on 10/31.  He had an accent, but I couldn't tell if it was a Latino or Indian accent.  He told me he was from some Federal department in DC.  He told me I was one of the few to be selected to receive a $9000 grant for being a good citizen.  He told me he was going to transfer me to New York and the money would be transferred right away.  He said I could have the money transferred to credit card, debit card, bank account, etc.  At this point, I interrupted him to ask what the name of the grant was again (he told me the name but I didn't remember it and wanted to google it while we were on the phone).  I heard him rattling through papers and he said, "it is uh...uh...uh..." And then he hung up on me.  I was disappointed because I was looking forward to questioning him further.  

Keep getting calls from these people. mostly hangups. finally someone talked to me long enough to get info. scamming like crazy.

This guy calls me and tells me that I can have  $7500 grant. All I have to do is call a phone number. Yes it is a scam. I have found a connection to Level 3 Communications and Verizon. I am on a do not call list and Verizon has released my number to a client of theirs. If there is an Attorney that would like to get involved in a Class Action suit I am very willing to get involved in this. They say that they are a government agency.

Just had the same call from 202-559-7639 from a women with a heavy indian or foreign accent telling I had been selected for a $9,000 federal grant and I needed to call Max Newman at 607-214-3000 with my confirmation number.  Max Newman answers the phone at that number and his English is a little better.  He explains in order to get this fabulous $9K grant I need to put up a one time $250 deposit in order to verify it my identity. OMG how STUPID.  Anyone dumb enough to fall for this scam almost deserves it however these buzzards need to be keel hauled and then face a firing squad.

I just got a call from 206-923-9681 saying i was to receive a free grant for $9,000.00 if i would go to the local Western Union and pay $310.00 first.
I then asked why they needed the money and she said it was the processing fee but when I got the $9,000.00 they would give me my $310 back as well.
I then asked if I had to pay this fee if I had chosen the other options of payment and she said yes I still would have to go the the Western Union and pay the fee first.
:) I told her I did not have $310 and she then told me to borrow the money from my friends... yeah not going to happen.
She finally hung up after saying that she would hold my "grant" for me for 15 days and she would be avalible whenever I called back.

Well help me out cause it went so far they gave me a tracking number for my money and i had to pay 430$ to western union and now they telling me i have to pay 210 more cause of taxes I THINK I BEEN HAD!!!!
