So after being approached at the Palisades Shopping center yesterday, I google this company to find out more about their services and I'm shocked! There's no need to put myself through this experience when evidently this company is a complete fraud. Specially when you have "happy clients", who don't even know how to spell "ridiculous" and with a complete misunderstanding of the word "grammar"-not to mention it's also misspelled-  criticize this board and the people who have kindly posted their horrible experience with the only intention of saving others from getting scammed. A hundred people can't be wrong and only one be right. All of people who have been approached by these individuals should advise everyone they know about this. I'm sure I absolutely will!!!

I am really glad I read these comments. I also got a call from this company, however the number was 203-391-5850,  They were trying to solicit me for a job instead of a modeling gig.  The girl on the phone was obviously reading from a script and wanted me "come in right away" so that I don't miss out on the "various other positions" that I was qualified for.  She tried to get me to make an appointment while on the phone and really couldn't answer any of my questions.  I told her I would need to call her back and she kept suggesting dates and times for this "interview".  Ridiculous!

I was at the holyoke mall in Ma the other day and a girl form a booth came up to me(from interface) and said that i was really pretty and i could be a model i had my 1 year old daughter with me and they couldn't believe i was a mother . they wanted me to fill out a card so they could call me back i put my daughters name and our phone number down.  2 days later a nice girl called me back. She said that the girl told her my daughter was perfect and what they were looking for, she new what she wore that day and how her hair was worn. ( they must of wrote it down to try to suck me in) i wasn't really interested but she said that it was just and evaluation  to see if she was what they were looking for . so i set up the apt. what the hell. why not  it didn't cost anything to go. but then my husband looked more into interface and found all these rip-off reports and said it was a scam. we have been scammed before so i decided to call and cancel, well the lady didn't really take it that well and insisted she spoke with my husband .. she said that she couldn't cancel my apt. Im the nice one trying to cancel an appointment instead of not showing up like an a** and didn't want someone else to loose and oppertunity. i told her if she called back my husband might be and a**hole . she hasn't called back yet

I was also approached at the Poughkeepsie Galleria by one of the so called "scouts" and the young girl was gushing on how beautiful my 5 year old daughter was and that she would succeed in modeling/acting.  I left my contacts and they begin calling me non stop.  I decided to call back after a month, to see what this is really about.  When I spoke to the young girl at the mall she re-assured me that there would be no fees.  So I said "why not'.  I had an appointment for yesterday at 1:30pm at their 35 n. waters st.  I arrive and parking is hell, finally I find parking and enter the building.  They were many parents and kids but I still didn't think of anything.  I waited for about an hour and was ready to leave because me and my daughter had not had lunch yet.  Finally they call us in with this guy name Eugene Gallagher, he goes on about how successful my daughter would be, she is the look there looking for, and he even asked if I've done any modeling.  lol  Finally the prices were giving to me and when I looked at the prices that ranged from $565-$5500, I said no way.  I told him that I needed to speak with my fiance and it would be a decision that we need to decided on.  He went on to insult me and say "doesn't your fiance have faith in your judgment"?  I almost lost him to curse him out instead I said "yes he does and I need to think about this"   He also said this would be her only opportunity!  I got up and said good bye!  I never in my life dealt with such horrible professionalism!  or lack there of!  I am really upset to waste my time to go to CT. from NY!  What broke my heart is there is so many other parents wanting the best for their kids and they will fall into this scam!  Please do not do it!! Anytime they want you to pay an enormous fee up front, it is a scam.  Most agencies invested in you first!

They go to places such as malls, shopping centers and Six Flags New England in Agawam,MA where I observed them at work. The owners of these venues also will be charged in a complaint in U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and CT. BEWARE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOU MONEY. Reading all of these stories helped me to withdraw the appoitment that I have today, It looks like that is very similar what they are doing to everybody, they drop down the money when you say that you can not pay. they stop my daughter at the palisade mall, saying that she is so beautiful and she can make a lot of money as a model, she is only 13 they were calling her everyday for 2 weeks until one day I was with her and they called, I spoke with them and we agree with an appoitment. I went to that appoitment also with my handson 9 years old who is a good singer. they were interested in my son too.before leaving to the appoitment they told me there was no expensive at all or no fee. but when I got there it was totally diferent, because I have to pay fot the photos shoot; I told them I could not pay that amount but they dropped the price. I said that I have to think before I made up my mind. but they are a good brain washer. and they made me to use my credit card for a deposit of $100.00 dollars  but I have to pay the rest the day of the photos shoot $1,050.00 but before coming over to the appoitment I desided to look for more information about this company. I went to google, ayahoo. but the reputation is very bad. thank you to all of you for you comments because today I canceled the photo shoot  and I saved $1,050 I will call the credit card company for a refund but if I dont get it I will lose less.

I'm sure all the fakers writing posts in support of Interface are the owners since I can't imagine any employees caring that much.  To anyone who is still curious or convinced that it'll be different for YOUR child because YOUR child must be so special, when you get to their office for the interview just take a good look around the waiting room.  The people in there will tell you all you need to know.  Majority are lower income, non-English speaking, or downright white trash/ghetto. Toddlers/kids dressed in tacky inappropriate outfits while their mothers fuss over their hair and makeup.  Awkward teenage girls squirming in their seats while their hooker-looking mothers are trying to live out their own dream and just happy that someone has paid attention to their plain-jane daughter.  Most of the kids are nowhere near model material, more than 1/2 are overweight.  How can any of them be there for singing or dancing or acting or comedy ability when they are selected just by walking in a mall???  The few respectable-looking kids/families will be looking around the room uncomfortably wondering if they are in the right place.

The waiting room tells you that there is NO thought or screening involved in "recruiting" for this program other than if you have a pulse and a wallet.  They are preying on the hopes and dreams of teenagers wanting to be famous, and the delusions of every parent wanting to believe their child has that special "something".

After 15 minutes of observing the cattle call in the waiting room I did a Google search on my phone and found more than I needed to know about this company.  I showed it to a few of the other parents sitting around us, the lady to the left had just come back inside from the "photo shoot" with her little girl and insisted that all they were told they had to pay was the $550, nothing more, and the company was legitimate and would send her daughter's photo to Baby Gap (LOL!!).  The other family was there for the first time and expressed the same hesitation we had, but they stayed.  We saw them later that afternoon at the Maritime Museum and they thanked us and said they walked out of there as soon as they were given the hard sell about the photo $$.

Parents, PLEASE use your instincts - even if you feel you have nothing to lose by going to the interview, take a look around you and ask yourself if 80% of the kids in there have any remote chance of working in modeling or performing.  There is your answer.

I recently had the same experience as most on this post.  But I have a friend that has two kids with interface for just shy of a year now and has received several jobs and is now signed with an agent.
Yes we were not told about the upfront photo costs, but I found this out from my friend ahead of time, so I was prepared for it.
I didnt feel pressured into it, they seems to work with me on what I could afford.  They made a payment plan per week to pay for the pictures and scheduled the photo shoot for the day after the last payment.
The $45 for release of the CD seemed reasonable to get a CD with 50 professional pics of my daughter.
So in total I will have paid about $800, so yes this is alot, but from my friends story, she will get work and possibly signed with a professional agent that will get her even more.
To the post that said the kids were ugly or fat in the waiting room, this is an agency that markets to all kids no matter their size, color, ect.  All types of kids are in marketing, commericials and tv shows.  They dont only do perfect skinny kids.  For adults that is normally the case, yes.
So maybe it is a scam, but I am going with I know someone that has had success with them.  If not, I am out $800 but have 50 professional pics of my beautiful daughter, if I am right, then my daughter will get some work.

New to Interface - First of all, $800 for a child's photos taken by a hack photographer is robbery.  You could enjoy taking your own digital photos of your beautiful daughter and only print the ones you like, then make as many copies as you need, for MUCH less.  What in the world are you going to do with 50 photos anyway??  And what are you going to do in 6 months when your girl looks much different than she does today?  Pay another $800?

Secondly, do you think it's wise to take the word of one person who may have had success over the word of hundreds of people who have taken the time to warn others online and report to the Better Business Bureau?  Do you think everyone here has nothing better to do than to trash an innocent company on the internet?  Obviously they are angry and emotional over being SCAMMED.

If you had any familiarity with the entertainment and marketing business, you would know that 90% of success IS based on appearance or at least a distinctive "look".  The people that are successful based on singing, acting, comedy, personality are chosen through showcasing those talents, not by walking by a booth at the mall.

The people waiting in the Interface office are at best ordinary, and at worst homely/overweight.  That is a harsh reality that most parents don't want to acknowledge.  Has your friend's daughter earned back the thousands of dollars she paid to Interface?  It's possible that she is one of the few children who has the look and personality directors are looking for, so she would have been successful regardless of what road she took. You can't base a company's credibility on one story.  Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

My daughter is 12 yrs old, so her looks dont change every 6 months.  Professional pictures do cost a lot of money especially for professional hair and make up.
I understand hundreds of people have complained about this company and have reported them to the BBB, but I guess my theory is you have to start somewhere in this business and this is where I am choosing to start.
My friend who has the two children with interface hasnt made the whole picture cost back yet, but they have only been with them for about 4 months, but they are getting work.
Like I said, if it doesnt work out, yes I am out $800, but have wonderful pictures of my daughter to start a portfolio with for possible future interest with another agency/program.
As for the kids in the waiting room, like I mentioned before in the business they are looking for all types of kids, even the overweight plain ones.  Adult models do to have to be "perfect" but not kids.  And the kids that were there the day we were there were all adorable in one way or another and their moms didnt look like hookers either.

Well, obviously people have the right to differ in opinion.  I work in the television business myself and I'm familiar with the casting process, and I know what I saw in the waiting room.  Maybe I was there on on off day and the crowd is usually not that low rent.

Anyway, I hope things work out for you and your friend, and your kids.  I have seen enough and read enough online to formulate the opinion that this company and their tactics are shady if not downright fraudulent.  They are charging hundreds of dollars for photos of infants who DO change from month to month. And chastising parents in front of their when they balk at paying - I mean how low can you go??  Personally I will be starting elsewhere.

Hi I have actually worked for interface! To be honest in my eyes it's a scam, here's how it works
they have people work at the mall to recruit people to come in to the office when you fill out that little card with all your information we in the call center call the person who ever fill out a card we call and call and call untill the person agrees to come in. The same card goes around to everyone in the call center. If you notice the building is tinted and has no label or sign saying INTERFACE TALENT NETWORK it's beacuse it's a scam! Don't waste your money and time they tell you you won't need money but actually they will charge you a minimum of 500 dollors for nothing and you can't get a refund .

Don't fall for this....do your research. I was approached by a "scout" while at Six Flags New England and Crystal Mall in Waterford like a fool I filled out the card was told that I would get a call within a wk.  I got a call the next day I ask if there was any cost on ANY kind and was told by the 4 different people on 4 different occasions that it would only be an informational meeting in which they would tell us if our child was "markertable" and no decision would have to be made that day. I made an appoitment and was told that it could NOT be resechedule (what business does that!!!!).   Well after driving 2 hours and waiting 45 mins we finally get called into an office to speak to the "director" after she laid down her sales pitch and showed us pics of other children in different ads,  a baby r us catalog and a Jennifer Lopez ad braging that every child in those ads was "scouted" by Interface.  She proceded to show us a price list for our child "portfolio" prices began at $500 to get this $5000.  When I told her we would have to think about she got very pushy and had the nerve to tell us "if you are not serious about your child suscess then why are you here" I have never been so insulted !!!! We took our child and left...
Am thankful that the only thing we lost was time and gas.....

HI everyone. I actually went today to Interface Agency that is actually not an agency. They scouted me in a mall. By chance I have experience in modeling so I usually don't let myself fooled by the recruiting "agencies" from the mall. I know what they want. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY AND AGAIN MONEY.  But this time, I decided to go to this not agency named Interface. They are located in Boca Raton and they don't have like a big logo on the door or anything like that. Everybody were so so friendly and the first girl I talked to said that I have potential and I can do a very good job in modeling with my attitude. Really? I new that!! I used to work in fashion for my whole life. Despite I showed them my professional portfolio, they pushed me into buy a photo shoot that cost around $1500. Are this people insane??? Don't they read the news?? We're in economic crisis!!!! But anyway ..... I'm a model ... I don' pay for a photo shoot I usually get payed for it. So I got there, I had to show them 2 forms of IDs. One my ID and second my debit card. Just because of the high pressure environment I halfway agreed for an appointment thinking I can cancel later. Before I closed my mouth saying yes they already swiped the card :))). "Woa woa woa !!!!" I said ! "Hand off the credit card. You didn't actually think about charging me $1500 today. At least let me think about it for couple days." So she said that she's giving me a very good opportunity and thinks work very fast in fashion industry. Fashion Industry is been just fine for 1000s of years .... it could have waited another week. When they saw the sheer terror in my eyes about the $1500 they dropped it to $500 and then to $50 and than to $25 even $10. And then they wanted me to sign a credit card agreement. With this kind of things they raised my suspicions about how serious mall agencies could be. So .. if ever anyone is hunting you  in a mall for $1500 I would take Ugly Betty' pictures (and this is before the make over).

Bottom line this non agency is a joke at best and a scam for suckers. I'm a freaking model .... you pay me ... I'm not paying you!!!!!!!!
