Every story that is being told here is true.  We were victims of this hard sell and bait and switch tactics after visiting the Westchester Mall in the fall of 2011.  They called us repeatedly for months, and said on the phone no costs up front.  We waited for over an hour in the waiting room in Norwalk, noticing that all the kids in the waiting room ranged from cute to not-so-much.  After listening to the sale of getting our toddler into this, we were pressed to commit and pay for a photo shoot before leaving.  I tried saying we'd call back in a few days, and they insisted you had to pay for the photo shoot before booking it, and further more had to sign up for it, it couldnt be done over the phone.  We came back for the shoot and like dummies the follow up appointments for picking out packages and a marketing package.
HUGE red flags for people new to this experience and not convinced it's a scam:

Every room in the Norwalk office has security cameras, just look up at the ceilings.  They quoted my price exactly when they left my wife and I alone once to talk things over.

Every room has a credit card machine to take payments.  Tell me that Willomena or Ford offices are all equipped with machines to swipe credit cards?

Read the back page of any contract.  They blatently say they are not gauranteeing work for your child, and provide no actual services besides a photo shoot.

The cancellation policy is 3 days, via written correspondance delivered through registered mail.  That means if you go in on a Saturday, the clock is ticking, and you have to mail in your cancellation Monday so they get it Tuesday.

Oh, and every response on websites like these that endorse the company or try to debunk our feedback are written by employees of the company.

I only managed to get one of my payments back, even after filing a complaint with the better business bureau, because of the language in thier bogus contract.  And they dont take AMEX for a reason, they can't fight with them as successfully as your bank and the debit card or credit card you used to make your payment.
If I ever see one of these booths set up in a mall again I'm going to sit there the rest of the day and tell every parent that walks by that they are a scam.

The fact that part of your lowly job at InterFace is to go onto websites like these and fight with people only further confirms how bogus your company is.
No reputable company anywhere instructs its emplyees to take on negative feedback head-on and fight with customers over their experience.  
Good luck finding another job after your current one, no one will consider InterFace experience as a positive thing for you, unless you want to serve fries or pump gas.

My daughter was approached at an amusement park.  The girl told her that she would be a great model for ...They called the next day to set up an "interview"  Jonathan, the "scheduling coordinator" appeared very nervous on the phone and hesitated several times, being unable to answer all of my quesitons.  I set up the interview anyway with no obligation. He said he would call to confirm the appt. last evening and never did. AFter reading several of these responses and contacting Barbizon modeling, I am so glad that I have decided not to attend the interview.  It sounds like a scam and a big waste of my time.  When it seems too good to be true, it probably is!!!

You should check your spelling before you go public.

Also wanted to extend my thanks to everyone who posted their negative feedback/experience with this "company."  I had set up an appt. for free evaluation tomorrow in Norwalk, CT for my toddler after speaking with a somewhat unprofessional rep.  Like others I was approached at the local mall (Palisades) by a young woman asking to fill out basic info about my son.  I was suspicious about the whole thing from the start.  A few days later their rep called asking to come in for evaluation.  No matter how hard I pressed this rep to tell me whether they will ask for any upfront costs associated with my son's modeling shots he refused to give a straight answer!  He said that his director needs to take a look at my son before they can decide whether they want to work with my son or not.  It kind of sounded legit but he never did confirm that they will not charge me until my son gets a job.  

Needless to say, after reading this site we are not going anywhere tomorrow.  

I can't believe that this company is scamming what seems like hudnreds of families around the tri-state are and getting away with it for quite a few years already.  They are hiring young people to work at the malls and probably are teaching them to lure in and decieve parents.   What a great first employment experience.

They are going to hear it from me next time I'm strolling my son past their slick booth.  These scammers need to be shut down soon.

I used to be a telemarketer and the techniques that this "company" uses remind me of those days. The high pressure tactics... The stretching of the truth... The lack of professionalism... The dependence on a pool of uninformed potential customers. A reputable talent agency would not be so thirsty to hunt down its talent. They would not need to send out an army to pull in masses of people hoping that a certain percentage would bite

My story is a little different. I wasnt stopped at a mall or anything but I was looking for a modeling agency for my 1 year old. I have gotten so many comments on how beautiful she is from complete strangers that me and my husband decided to persue it. I googled free modeling agencies for babies and Intetface was the first thing that popped up. So I signed up since it was supposed to be for free. Within 2 hours I got a phone call. Everything sounded wonderful and that my daughter would be traveling but I would have to pay for my own ticket. But everything for my daughter would be free. So I set up a meeting for a free evaluation. Of couse they needed both parents I.D. and three recent nonprofessional photos of her. When we got to Boca Raton, everything looked so professional and nice. Everything she told us sounded wonderful even the success sories and my husband recognized some of the successful actors from Interface that made it on Law and Order. And she kept bragging about how Beautiful my daughter was and how Beautiful her hair is and the fact it was so much and that's what the industry is looking for because that is what's in. Then all of the sudden she slapped a photo shoot list in front of us rangingg from $595 to 6,000. I told her we didn't have the money right now because we weren't told on the phone it was going to cost us anything.  She kept insisting that we sign her up with them because she has so much potential. Meanwhile my husband kept insisting that we just didn't have that money right now. She offered to put it on a credit card. We didn't have one so then said she would give us a deal 2 outfits for the price of one. Then she said we can pay half now and half on the day of the photo shoot. After sending her out of the room about three times to deliberate we finally decided to pay half now and signed the contract. When I finally got home from work the next day I decided to read this really long contract. It basically states they will take a photo shoot but we have to pay forthe composite cards and the cheapest one was $90 then $45 to copyright the photos but Interface would still be the sole owners of the photos. Then what really got me is that it stated although they would be taking the pictures they would not promote her to any emplyers or companies so basically im paying just for photos. When we asked if we could take our own photos because her uncle is a professional photographer they said no. So I decided to do so research on them and I found out that they were being sued by many people and changed their names several times. You bet I immediately sent them a certified letter of cancellation with a tracking number by fedex so I can get my money back!!! But they are telling me it should take up to thirty days for a refund!! When we called them they wanted to know why we we were cancelling and refused to give us her name. I'm just glad I only paid half instead of everything. Next time I know better.

I'm glad that you got (or abut to get) your money back. I was in the same situation. I paid ~$1100 after signing the contract. Anywas long story short, when I came back home, searched on the net (why didnt I searched even before I wnet there ?????) and after seeing all these posts, I felt I was so stupid to get into the trap so easy. It was Saturday, as per the contract I had three days (not even three business days ( as per post marked date not the delivery date), to send cancellation letter. Very first thing I did on Monday was mail the cancellation letter. I have proof that they have got it. Now need to wait for 30 days to get my money back. For me it was total wastage of time if not money.

I wish I would have done my research before. I gave them a $100 and signed the contract. I have a photo shoot 2/2/13. I have ro give them the remaining balance of $495. I don't want ro go foward with this. I fwlt pressured into it with no time to think it through. Do I still have pay them the rest even if I don't want go??? Obviously I now I cannot get a refund because it past the three days.. I'd rather lose those hard worked $100 than $495 or more.

I am soooooooooooo grateful to have found this site.  I had an appointment w/Interface this week (Jan. 28, 2013) w/my grandbaby. Yet after reading these complaints, immediately phoned this Christopher Johnson there and cancelled.  He tried to convince me of the many success stories, but there are way too many complaints that I take seriously to want to proceed. I would not be a happy camper if  I exposed my precious grandbaby to possibly being exploited by shady people and a ripoff organization.

Interfaces is interested in my 21 month old daughter, they called us and want us to come in today with i.d's and 3 regular pictures of her. We were a little wary about this so we called last night and asked them if we would be spending any money at all on anything the lady told us no that whatever our daughter would make with whatever she gets in they keep 30 percent or something like that and thats how they make their money. i dont know but were going to go soon and we'll see how this all turns out!  and we are able to contact that number and reach somebody though. i am very confused weither this is a scam  or not, if they do ask for any money like others have said i will tell them to shove it were the sun dont shine.

The BBB IS a scam. They are a private company that tried to collect money from other companys for the supposed status of being rated on their site.

Most [***] believe everything they read on the internet...it seems that this company isn't a scam, just capitalism at its finest. Capitalism is a lot of fun, it's just not fun being the guy on the bottom. Be smarter consumers and don't pay where you don't see the value..dump your disposable money in an indexed universal life insurance policy instead!

I am an attorney. I've unfortunately had several people contact me about this company. It is a scam. In one instance, 2 sets of parents signed up together, then canceled, in a timely manner and in writing, as stipulated in the contract. The company still refused to refund their money. In the end, they took it as a loss since litigation was a more costly option. This company is a disgrace.

You need to learn how to spell, before posting anything in Public.
