Yep same thing as listed above. Total scam! I emailed him back with some choice words. Lets see if i get a reply. We should all spam him to death

I firt got an email asking if the item was still for sale, I responded that it was and then got the standard email that everyone else got too.  In my add I speciffically put "willing to sell to local buyer ONLY with cash, NO EXCEPTIONS, do not contact me and ask me to accept a money order or to ship the item."  He emailed first from tolotolo7@gmail.com and then from 100larrymoore@gmail.com

Got that email in CA, Bay Area.  same one email, word for word....secretary, certified draft, that phone number, and being deaph.  Word for word the same.   What a great explanation of things and attampt to make things look better then they are.  Total BS :)  All of you out there please pay attention how the scammer almost commands you to do all those certain things...his way.  Obvious scam.
I was selling rims and tires.  Same day he/she/they replied.  I think there is a group of people that do that.  That scam is very active.  I never heard of that scam I was allerted by that email right away.  It got me very suspicious becuase...a normal customer will ask about item's condition, location, many other things.  This MF just wanted to pay :)  unbelivable customer.  
I am going to call police tommorrow and offer them to trace any info they can and I will even offer to play along if police guys will try to catch that MF.  
Keep the fight with scammer ON!!! :) Maybe send them an email virus? :)  What about those people that pick up the item.  Are they also fooled into doing that work or they know about the scam.  

Anyways, everyone out there, DONT DO ANY WIRELESS /  MAIL TRANSACTIONS !!!ONLY CASH and WITH SOME PEOPLE PRESENT WHO WILL BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOU.  ACCEPT CHECK/MONEY ORDER IF YOU CAN CASH IT FIRST, BEFORE YOU GIVE UP YOUR STUFF.  Make sure you are not alone in the house or the place you do transaction and make sure that by having another person in or near your house you dont invite unwanted later visitors aka (house burglars)  Sometimes it happens, they buy something, check out your place and your security, come in later and break into your place or other crimes.  BE AWARE PEOPLE PLEASE!!!  DONT BE TEMPTED TO SELL YOUR STUFF.  WATCH OUT FOR THE RED FLAGS!!!!!

got the response to an ad on craigslist--sounded strange--cell phone trace said land line--San Antonio Texas--for 30 $ they would give me the name--not likely---somebody gets an address-- post it so somebody in that area can take appropriate action---

Same complaint as above.  BS e-mail asking for personal info and claims he is deaf with this number.  This e-mail and number was sent to my Yahoo account via a Craigslist add I have out.

Same as all above from a craiglist add. The scammer semt email next morning.  Replied to the email saying He can pick the item at the Local Police Dept. They will take good care of him.

Just received an email from 'James Burrows' stating the same exact thing on a set of rims I'm selling on Craigs List.

ya totally just got this email for a listing on CL and automatticly thought about how this really sounds weird.  Ya i get the guy is deaf but i want more info on him before i send any of mine to him in this case. Right away i though of him as a scammer.

I'm in the Tampa area. Looks like this guy made it here. Here's the info. Glad I checked it out. I wouldn't send him he additional money. I'd let him know to void it and that I was reporting it to the police the moment he mentioned the overpayment amount wanting a refund.

I got the same messages but I have gotten them before from the same person so I take it a step further and let them mail out the check airmail UPS but I just give them the name of the States Attorney, his address and phone number.  MIght as well let them gt the bogus check, and take the calls for the money.  Maybe then something will be
done.  If you check the tracking you will see it was shipped out of L.A., Calif.  And the shippers address is out of Oregon, which if mapquest it, not a complete address I think the choice was  SE or SW.  Anyhow  I would be curious
if others have gone as far as to have a check mail to anywhere, and tracked it.   Are they all coming out of L.A.?
Might be able to track this person. down with enough info.  If you want to have some more fun  just advertise  some empty boxes on craigslist for $600.00 he will buy them with his phony check but it will at least cost him the shipping charge.

Got identical scam letter from Fred Stimely from ad on Craigs list.
It's too bad he didn't send the check by US POSTAL or he could be tracked down and tried for mail fraud.

Exact same email described above. Received email this morning and, as if by magic, I placed an ad last night on craiglist for a television set.

I sent him an email back telling him the cops will be interested in his details more than me, and have not got anything back.

Where do these scum come from?

Just received the same message from craig's list in New Bern, NC

I just wrote him back letting him know people know what he is doing and that if he wants to avoid jail time then I recommend he quit being an ass.

Received same thing from Craigslist posting...name of Ben Eldridge. What a busy guy trying to buy everybody's stuff.
