Craigslist scammer.  Got same email message as was earlier posted. We're in Bakersfield, CA. Avoid.

Same thing and phone # for a add posted in Omaha Nebraska he is one busy dude. but I wasan't going to send him my info told him to have sec. call me and gave him home number. His name now is Greg Scott@gmail.com  # is still 210-209-8524

Anyone know how his scam works?  I ask because I was foolish enough to send back my name/address/cell number...then he said he accidentally sent a check for 2100 (item was 150) and wants me to Western Union back the balance.  I have not responded to this as it was obvious at this point it was a scam.

well what happens he send you a check and tell u to send him the balance asap with means it take 5 to 7 business days for a check to clear even though the  check will look like its good but after that 5 to 7 days it take it back out and you will be in the negative example he sent you $2100 you - your 150 and you will be giving him free $1950.........

Same scam... has anyone had anyhting bad follow through from this? i havent sent him anyhting. but has mailing address and phone number. how else can he come look at the merch? let me know if i need to take further action thank you.

I just fell for the same scam!!!  I'm in the Seattle area.  I haven't seen any responses as to whether we should worry that we gave our address and cell #'s.  Is there something I should do?

Same email from a "greg scott" <stevebebo02@gmail.com.. Wants my Trombone... For a deaf guy, that's a little scary.

I got an email from someone called Bruce, who then changed name to Fred Stimely concerning some camera equipment I had listed on Craigs list.  I played along with his game knowing it was a scam but I let him deliver the check to me at my place of business (no way was I giving him my personal information!).  By the way I work at a bank.  They immediately verified that it was a fraudulent check and it has all been turned over, along with all of his emails to me, to the fraud department at the bank. They will probably never track him down, but we can only hope!

same thing Robert Leo wanting to buy claiming he was deaf and to call 210-209-8524...........glad I checked it out first!

I got the same response for my Craigslist posting as well. Thought it odd that someone with a secretary can't use proper grammar.

By the way, the message came to me from a guy calling himself James Burrows, but his email address is kelly797902@yahoo.com; probably someone that he ripped off before.

He called himself James Burrow and sent a check and I am going to police with it God- I can't believe this guy is doing this crap. My husband is selling something on craiglist and this guy starting e-mailing him and he sent his information for the check to be sent and the check just came today. I am so glad that I checked this all out before we were scammed.

i just got the same message from james burrows i was stupid enough to give him my info i hope nothing will happen out of this it was over a set of wheels on CL and on mautofied.com  is there anything he could besides the deal with the check

Just got this same email I'm in Carson, CA same message about being deaf, ect.
