These people have just started calling me, but its obvious I probably shouldn't call them back and waste my time? The woman was very rude although they did have the correct name. however, they sound too skeptical for me to even think of wasting my time or money. They threatened on voice mail that I have to call back today or they will proceed but never states what they're proceeding with. Annoying....

I think these guys are a joke, I keep getting calls on my maiden name which I have been married for over 5 years, when I ask what it is about I get a run around rude people and no answers. Be ware they are bottom of the barrel.

I received a call at my place of employment, from a woman named Michelle Wynberg, who said she was calling from the Law Offices of Thomas Landis. The woman stated that she was calling in regards to a credit card debt that I had refused to pay. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and that I could not discuss this with her at work as I am not suppose to receive personal calls at work. She said she had attorneys that would be at her office that afternoon and that the attorney in her office wanted to speak to me prior to meeting with the other attorneys. She asked if I could call her office back on my lunch hour and I said I wasn't sure that I'd be able to, she told me to call her back at 1-800-853-4000 xt. 157 and gave me a file number to refrence when I call. I said I wanted to do a bit of research first and would try to get back to them. The woman ended the call with the words "good luck". I am so thankful I found this site with information about these frauds!

I have been getting phone calls from this number lately as well.  I have a caller ID and didn't answer because I didn't know who it was.
I finally decided today to go online and just see if there was any info on here about this and look what I found!!
I will not answer their calls and I think things like this should be illegal.  These people should not be allowed to do what they do.  How do they sleep at night?

received a call from tihs law office today.  called back gave id # they laft on answering machine.  they cold not find my file with that #.  asked for spelling of my last name, still cold not find me.  tried my phone # STILL could not find my file.  THEN ask for my social secrity number.  NOWAY am i giving them my social.  When they asked for social, that's when I figured it's a scam.  watch out for theses guys.  most definately a scam!!!!

They will not STOP HARRASSING ME! Who are these people?? They are making threats, using foul language and hanging up on me. How can I get them to STOP??????

I use to work for 9 different collection agencies and they are desperate to make money in a depression type economy that we are in and you can thank Bush for that. They think because he broke the law that they can do the samething and ecnore the laws that are in place. The truth is check with your states attorney general to see when the statue of limitations runout. Usually it is 7yrs. on average that a debit runsout and if you contact the collection agency involved you are renewing that statue of limitations for another 7yrs. depending on your individual state. Do not contact them and when you get a white envelope with a big window on the front. Do not write anything on it and scrible it out with a black pen and put it back in the mail. after 3 or 4 times they will give up. Do not contact them at all period.

I get the same call about everyday, sometimes a couple times a day and they leave a message they are from Law office of Thomas Landis about a debt that I owe from back in 2005 with MBNA.  I had 2 debts that equaled about $19,000 so I went through Credicure and made payments with them to take care of these debts.  The payments were being made to my 2 creditor's because it showed up on my statments. Now credicure is no longer around and still $$ was getting deducted from my account and a Fredrick law group somehow got my information from credicure about 3 years ago and now I can't get ahold of anyone there either so I called the bank and had them to stop withdrawls from Fredericks law group.  They were deducting $534 a month and God knows where all my money is now.  I got an email from one of the paralegal's (supposenly one) back in February that I had over $7,000 in escrow with them and I told her to settle the 2 creditor's with it and she said she would get back with me but still have not heard nothing and I call the 3 phone numbers I have for them and they are either busy or disconnected.  Just don't know what to do!!

These people are all jokes! They attempt to collect on outstanding debt for CollectAmerica. CollectAmerica buys debt for pennies on the dollar and has these people collect on it. First thing you do is ask them to give you "VOD" which is verification of the debt. They wont send you anything. You must put this in writng and advise them that if they call you again you will sue them under for violations of FDCPA. Tom Landis is an attorney in their office and will be happy to pay you for any threat of lawsuit against harrasment. Get a name, tell them not to call anymore and send them a letter in writing stating so. The owner of the company is a rich guy name Lawrence J. Weil- here is his information- LAWRENCE J WEIL

We got a call from this number this afternoon and there was a pre-recorded message and they were looking for someone named Oscar Hughes.  We have no idea who this person is, but they had better stop calling our home!

Attorney Office of Thomas Landis tried to get Names and SSN#.  Be aware, do not even talk with them.

They sent a letter that said i owed over $4000.00 so i called the number the number i called was 1-800-853-4000but its the same company it is called LAW OFFICED OF THOMAS LANDIS,ESQ. i talked to an eric fitzgerarld at ext: 109 they were also very rude to me ond the phone laughing at me they are calling back on tuesday 23 2009 i dont know what to do help my e-mail is nolanjaylee@yahoo.com i need some advise.

Call to my cell phone. I did not recognize the number so I did not answer. They left no message. Caller ID reads 215-642-3400.  I have no debt so no reason for them to call me. Other collectors have called looking for someone that may have had this number before me, but that would be over 4 years old.

I too received a call from these people.  However, I make it a practice never to answer a call in which I DO NOT recognize the number.

I checked both theses guys out.  It seems that Donald Burak has been disbarred from practicing law.  So if he has represented himself as an attorney, as his agents those making the calls are representing him, call the DA & the PA Bar Association like I did.

I also found that Thomas Landis is NOT member of the PA Bar and so is misrepresenting himself as well.  

People - know who you're talking to before you give them any information.  It took me two minutes to find the info.  If enough of us complain to the Bar Association perhaps they will get real jail time!!!!
