I hope you stopped payment!! These guys are breaking all sorts of laws! When they call, inform them that you are recording the conversation, they will hang up. You have already established contact, so check your state to see if the statuate of limitations starts over. Lastly, take note of all calls, dates, times, rude comments, threats, etc. Report those to the Pa attorney general's office. There is also a website, http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml  there inlies formats for debt validation letters. Build off of one of those, learn the lingo, and shut them up for good! Whenever you mail anything to them, request confirmation of delivery by sending it certified, return reciept.

Just got a call today asking me to call tom landis and he said it was concerning a cause # I guess he is now working on the elderly on Long Island NY. I googled the name and number on my caller Id and got this site....kinda scary..cause he asked for my husband who passed on over 3 years ago

OMG!!  Talk about crooks & idiots.  I've been receiving calls from them for a debt they claim is 7 years old.  When I explained to the rude, incompetent, nasty little witch that I am only 19 years old and was most definitely not buying anything on credit at age 12, she told me she knew but asked for my DOB to verify her information.  I explained that she could give it to me to verify and if she knew I was only 12 at the time this "debt" was incurred, why was she calling?  She asked me if I understood that a negative credit report would damage my finances for years to come.  Good Lord, where do they find these people?  These people are clearly unscrupulous bottom feeders.  DO NOT give them any information, EVER!!!!!!!!!!  I'd love for them to screw with my credit.  Talk about a shoe-in victory when I sue them!!
By the way, I checked this guy out.  He's had his license suspended in the past for unfair debt collection practices.

the same people called my house today looking for my sister in law. when i answered the phone all they did was say her name and i said shes not here. he said he would have the attorney precede and hung up on me.thats when i found this website. i called them back and told them not to ever call my  house and be rude like that and hang up in my face.. the smart a..  said he didnt hang up in my face cause he was on the phone...well needless to say they shouldnt be calling me back cause i gave them a few choice words and told them i would report them if they ever called my house again

I had a gentleman call me stating he had an urgent matter to discuss... after checking my credit report to make sure I was up to date on all my debt, I confirmed that I was. Then after reading the hundreds complaints online about this office, I decided they could go pound sand, and figure out how to provide kind customer service before I give them the time of day... F off Tom Landers!

I am getting calls from this law firm for a neighbor that I dont even know. They are down the street from me. They keep calling non stop. They have the names of people living in my house and have asked for them. They are my children. They have my name and are asking me to deliver a message to this person whom I dont know stating that this person who is to recieve the message would be eternally grateful. I told them no that I do not want them to call my home again and that I will not deliver any messages for them and to stom calling my house. What should I do if the calls dont stop comming?

i just got a call from this company looking for me and my mother....whose last name it completely different, my parents divorced 25 years ago, and these freaks are going online to lexus nexus and looking for people associated with the person they are looking for, which in this case is my father...,again my parents have been divorced for 25 years. i asked the guy on the phone what regards is he calling for and he said he couldnt tell me but please pass the message to my father.  WOW!!!! i called back the 877 number(AGAIN 877????)  they are rude ass people. talking about, we need to get in touch with this person!  HOW DARE YOU CALL ANY NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH SAID PERSONS!!!!!!  Isnt there some law out there that prevents them from messing with your extended family???  I am upset, thank god my mother didnt answer the phone.....

"Landis law office" has called my brother regarding a discharged credit card bill. He had a heart attack in 1996, and thought the "credit protect" provisions of the card would protect him. The insurance company only paid the minimum balance on the debt for a year incurring more interest and charges. He has subsequently had a stroke and cannot talk coherently at times. They have not called back when a nurse or aide is available. He tries to answer the phone to hear my grandchildren talk to him. They have called the congregation he attends and asked for information about him. The congregation is very protective. It took three years before social security approved his permanent and complete disability. The debt never went to court, and it is past the statute of limitations for court action.

I've had the same thing.  Threatens to keep calling me until I get the neighbor I don't know to call them.  Please report them to your state attorney general's office and/or the PA attorney general as well as FTC

They called our summer home in Maine (we live in CT) for our daughter and had our first names too.  In asked what it was about and they wouldn't say. I told our daughter (31 yrs old) not to bother calling them after reading all of these posts.  She had looked them up too.  Sure hope they call me back now, I'm a retired police sergeant................

This office of Tom Landis called my brother in law in San Francisco inquiring about my husband's whereabouts. Of all people, how did they get his number?? To make the story short, my brotherin law informed me since my husband is still in the hospital. I called and I was told about this old debt that they say my husband owe. I spoke to a woman (I don't remember her name) and I told her that the person they are looking for has been in the hospital 4X since June suffering from stroke. I asked her to fax a copy of whatever bill that was to know if it was legitimate. She did but no breakdown of what it really was. A few days after,I received a message from MIKE POWERS demanding that I settle the account no later than 5pm that day.I got very mad and called them back stating the fact that the amount they are trying to collect is not mine but a personal credit card of my husband who o is very ill and I am separated from him besides me being on social security income. The woman was mad as hell and told me that being married to my husband,I am still legally responsible for his debt and that they will still run after me. She started asking me about my husband's contact number but I told her that HE IS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL and if they call him there and he suffer another stroke it will be in their hands. THESE PEOPLE ARE VULTURES!!! I am going seek legal advise to see what my rights are!  Does anyone out ther reading my message know whom or what agency I can go to to report these blood hound? I live in southern California and this bogus collectors are from Pensylvania. Why does the government allow these hound dogs to ever exist???

Bottom line ...... Pay your bills. Bottom line 2 .... Don't involve yourself by asking to receive a fax abouth the debt then change your mind when they ask you to pay. In or out. Make a decision. They are not VULTURES .... They collect money off of DEADBEAT people. Of which your husband is one. Yes he may be in the hospital now but he hasn't been tner for the past 3-4 YEARS ... Right ? Pay your bills and you won't have collectors nor attorneys calling you. As for the rest ? Thanks to you for not paying your bills and making MY INTEREST RATE GO UP YEAR AFTER YEAR.

Now you want them to call back ? Why ? What will you do ? Will you explain to them how bad of a parent you were raising your daughter not to fullfill her obligation when she defaults on money she has borrowed ? What will you do if they call back ? You obviously have some money since you have 2 homes. Wouldn't the honest thing be HELP your daughter and loan her money to STOP the calls .... not prey on hard working people trying to make a living by collecting money from DEADBEAT DEBTORS. Stop encouraging your daughter to do the wrong thing and HELP your 31 year old daughter by teaching her right from wrong. You were a poor parent earlier in her life .... be a better parent now.

I ot a call from a loud man "John Lambrdo" stating to call 1-877-543-6152 an reference an acct number he also gave. At the end of the message he said he was working for an attorny named TomLandis, but the nuber he called from was different was the 215 number I have no idea what the want I dont owe any one money.

I have received multiple calls from this number requesting to speak to a Jesus Hernandez...I have called back multiple times to request to be romoved from the call list, and was disconnected after being placed on hold as well....I called back today and advised that if I receive an additional call from them I will be filing harrassment charges agianst them.  I am also going to contact my phone company and find out if I can block a number from calling mine.

Don't give them any info...junk debt buyers!! BEWARE!!
