Contact the Disciplinary Counsel for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania about Landis. You can file a complaint, although I've never known it to do any good. The DC once told me their job was to protect the reputation of lawyers. Also the Federal Trade Commission and the PA Attorney General. NEVER send them money or give then any information. Even if the debt is legitimate, they are not.

These pinheads sent my wife and I each a letter claiming we both owe for a credit card she owned in 1997. They claim the debt is almost 40K, despite the fact the card was paid off in 2000. My wife called the number on the letter, which was the above phone number, but all they would say was that it was a credit card debt from 1997. When my wife told them the debt was paid off years ago they demanded she fax them some sort of proof that she was telling the truth. They refused to give my wife any info at all, so she told them they had bought a worthless debt and hung up. This is the second time they have tried this nonsense, so everybody beware, they don't give up easily.

Don't listen to "amused reader".  These scum sucking parasites are pure evil  Don't pay them a f'ing dime.  Don't talk to them.  Just hang up.  And, "amused reader" is wrong -- many of these debt are long past the statute of limitation and you DO NOT have to pay them back.  Don't even pay a penny.  Just hang up and annoy these scumbags.

I have been receiving phone calls from Thomas Landis' office for a couple weeks now about a debt that was accrued in my name under false pretenses.  They call my office everyday, and I have warned all of my coworkers to just put them into my voicemail, as I refuse to talk to them.  They asked if I received the letters they had sent me on three other occassions, and I didn't.  When he read off my new address (I had moved in April) I said that yes, it was me, but I never received anything from them.  I did a few days later, though.  The first call was from Ty Nixon on the Friday before the 4th of July hoilday.  He put me on hold, then transfered me to another "lawyer" at the firm who was quite rude.  I was told that the debt amount was over $14,000, but if I paid $6500 (which a few minutes later turned into $7000) they would wipe the debt off my record.  When I said that I didn't have $7000 he told me I had better find a way to borrow it.  The following Tuesday I received another call from Ty Nixon at the office saying that the meeting that had been scheduled for the 5th must have been a mistake and was I willing to reschedule.  There had never been a meeting scheduled.  A strange music started playing on the line and I hung up.  A woman named Beverly called the office acting like a "friend" but I refused the call and she did not leave a message.  They have now found my cell phone number, and called today, which is when I did a search and found this site.  At least now I know they are phoney and I will call a lawyer to try to take care of them.

I received a call from this NJMBER as well. The lady stated her name as Lisa Lambert. She said she would settle an account with us, she was representing Wells Fargo. I paid her over $2800.00 as a settlement and she was supposed to be sending me a letter stating the account is settled and paid in full. Now I have not received my letter and can't get a response from them. I have my confirmation numbers where she took the money out of my bank.. I need help with this matter. I paid Wells Fargo their money through this law office, but they won't send me anything showing the account is paid.

Received a call from "Attorney Tom Landis' office" about "time sensative" and "caller sensative" materials. I have received these calls once before, demanding payment on a credit card debt for a credit card I have NEVER owned in my life. The previous time I called the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( Mr. Landis and associates were very threating). I was told that although Mr. Landis and his "associates" are clearly dishonest, replusive individuals, what they are doing is not illegal! Then, my son googled his name and we found this web site. Thank heavens for this web site! And thank heavens for caller ID! To any others of you who receive similar threating calls: HANG UP. What they are doing is fraudulent. They have bought past debts from companies who HAVE ALREADY BEEN PAID via the U.S. Government courtesy of the tax payer. In other words, a company may have been owed money in the past but due to the passage of time, they have applied to the U.S. Government, have been paid a percentage of the monies they were owed and have written the debt off. Mr. Landis and his "associates" have bought these debt amounts and now call up individuals all over the U.S. hoping to threaten and scare people into paying for debts they NEVER owed. My suggestion is to politley, thank Mr. Landis for taking the time out of his busy day to call you and then explain that you are now going to call the FBI so they and Mr. Landis can dialogue and then DO JUST THAT!

These people are bottom feeding scum bags.  I would not insult pond scum by comparing them to Tom Landis and his kind.  These people have been calling an exboyfriend, my mother and my brother.  They have called me at work!  If you get a call from them the only response should be "you have the wrong number, do not call this number again"  Then HANG UP!  Do not talk to them, do not answer any questions just HANG UP!

Got three calls from this outfit trying to collect old debts.  One was not for me.  Idiots.  Everyone needs to be aware of the statute of limitations in their state for collecting old debts.  Copy and paste this link.

    http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/sol-by-state.html

If the debt these people say you owe is older than the statute of limitations, tell them what the statute is in your state and hang up.  Be careful though and make sure that the statute does not start over if you talk to them.

These people started calling my parents and work numbers when I was out of town. It took me SIX times to get thru to them today to find out what this "legal matter" was about. The lady kept disconnecting me. They are supossedly from "Tom Landis' Law Office". Now, I don't know any law office that works out of a call center, which is obviously where this call was taking place from! I had to ask him to stop the buzzing noise and the background chatter so I could hear him.

The man I spoke with (ED HEISENBURG) was trying to tell me I owed $4500 to a Citybank account from 1999. Said he was working with Pennecale Credit Services. Here's the funny thing. I asked how long he had my file on his desk and he said since APRIL 26TH and he had just started calling on it in SEPTEMBER. WTF?!? IF this was real and IF it was a time sensitive matter, I doubt it would be sitting there for 4.5 months on someone's desk. All the information he had on me was at my parents address, nothing new and he only had my new phone number because my mom gave it to him.

All of my credit cards have been paid off and I tried to tell him that and offered to send him the copy of my credit report showing it paid off (with everything else marked out obviously) and he replied "So, everything you have ever had in your life is paid off?" Told him with the exception of my student loans and current utilities and rent, yes. I just kept asking him to mail me proof or email me proof and he wouldn't. Said "this matter had to be taken care of by 5pm today". My guess is they are bottom feeders/junk debt collectors trying to scare people into paying old debt that is ready to fall off.

Call came from 877-543-6151 Tom Landis Attorney.  Female told my wife she owed 1,200 to an unknown company from 12 years ago.  We had a complete background check done by local law enforcement about 5 years ago, prior to employment, and nothing was found then.  This is a complete falsehood.  They said the debt could be settled with bank information.  This appears to be some scam done by this company indicated by the comments I found on the web.  This is a new phone number which is why I decided to add it to this page.

You are lucky.  This could mean MONEY to you.

Find an attorney in your area who handles "F.D.C.P.A." (Federal "Fair Debt Collections Practices Act" Claims.)  They will give you instructions on how to document your claim against Thomas Landis.

You you may be able to collect a $1000.00 statutoty Federal award, plus attorney fees, plus treble damages, if available in your state, plus expenses and other damages.  Some attorneys will work for you on this on contingency basis (meaning of they do not collect for you, you do not pay) in these matters.

My calls started last April along with a letter. This is for a debt that 10-12 years old. I have talked to Beth Nixon, Mr. Days, Keith Malone, and Bill Valentine oh and now another lady is calling. Well they managed to get $1500.00 out of me and then helped themsevles to another $1500.00 that was not authorized and then overdrew out account. After calling and leaving a not so nice message for "Thomas Landis" the funds were put back in our account. They have now called my sister which I don't even know how they got her number. I wish I would have looked into this sight before I gave them any money. Any advice going ahead with this in the future. Thanks for all the comment to read on others that have been scammed-no more from me.

Blocked this number yesterday after reading all the negative things on here - they called me three times but never left a message.  Today I got two calls in less than 10 minutes from an (877) number; I looked it up and it belongs to these scumbags.  I don't have credit cards, only have one mortgage and don't have any bills in collections so they have no real reason to contact me.  Someone should do something about these people!
