This guy and his crew is "legal assistants" is a TRUE THIEF and runs a "business" that causes GREAT emotional abuse among other things.
US Bank sold a debt (small- of my 19 yr old, now, diabled daughter that moved here to CA from NV for her care from this tragedy) to CACI collections of St Louis. MO (314) 756-9352 / 877-312-2112 in which CACI made payment arrangements on auto checking deduction months ago; overdrew her account and wiped her out. THEN, turned it over to this scumbag Landis (800-853-4000 x 106) and his bottom feeders who have called unlisted number (never given out to ANY persons for 15 yrs due to my job in law enforcement), calling EVERYDAY for the past month, 1-10 time, daily. They violate extensive FCC, and various local, Federal laws. As they have ALL conspired to commit these acts, they will being seeing MY suit filed VERY SOON in CA Court and then when WON, they will be sued and I am seeking several charges to be filed for all companies, in criminal and civil court. I am happy to have found THIS board; thank you all! The bullys will soon find themselves on the other end; being the CORRECT side of the LAW and certainly it will not be pleasant for THEM. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I do NOT have time for this and must make time for all they do to HARM people across our country.

This Pun Collections V, LLC is a complete phony outfit. Their claim on my wife is over 10 years old and has been settled in court and the correct person was sentenced and served time in prison and is still wearing a bracelet for two more years. If they notify you tell them to eat cake.

    Another One
Received a call at my WORK # from a Nicole Hart who startling rattling off that she was from Attorney Thomas Landis' office and she needed to know if I was going to pay my 'debt' or not. She spoke so quickly I couldn't get a word in edgewise but when she did stop I asked who she was and why she was calling.  She again started rattling at 100% miles and hour about a credit card account that was opened in 2004 and charged off in 2007.  She told me I was sent a letter, which I told her I never received (imagine that) and that the last address they had for me was a Colorado address.  I told her I was now in NC and needed more information from her.  She rudely just told me "I just need to know if you're going to settle this debt or not!"  I told her I was at work and could not talk privately and made arrangements to call her at 1pm.  THEN I did some surfing....and found this thread of messages.  This person also said they would 'have to send a new letter' so I did give her my current address.  And after reading all of this I'm glad I did.  This way I'll have some sort of hard copy proof of what these people are about.  Interesting enough as i write this my phone AT WORK just rang again it was the same number as the first - 215-642-3400 - I sent it straight to voice mail.  21564230400 1PM - This is Nicole from Atty Landis' office I know we had set up to talk at 1pm so I'm calling to reschedule our talk.  I'm going into a meeting until 2:30 pm so if you could give me a call back at that time that would be better.  Again the number is 800-853-4000 x182."

I have no intention of calling these people because 1) creditors are not allowed to harass you at your place of employment and 2) I want to see if this "letter" they keep referencing ever shows up.

Thanks everyone for your comments on here, very helpful.

A rep. from Thomas Landis Office called my husband today wanting to know if he was going to pay his credit card debt.  Told him he owed $1300 but would settle for $1000 if he paid right now.  I'm not sure about u, but we don't have that kind of money right now, so he tried working something else out, but he said if he didn't get the $1000 today then he was going to sue.  We looked him up and he's a fhoney!  I'm not sure if he has 2 offices or not b.c. we you research him theres Thomas Landis on findlaw.com, but with a different address than what his partner had, Donald Burak.  a true collector would work things out with you, but if he would rather spend more money than what's owed, which isn't even $1300, then that's his problem, but he wont get a dime until we get information on our account that he says we owe on, and $400 more than what it was when it was charged off.

Wow, this is amazing to me. My son is having to deal with these people right now. Because I work in a law firm and have for over 30 years, I can't believe the way these people treat their alleged debtors.  Then they want your bank account information and refuse to provide you with any paperwork that indicates you in fact owe the money.  What a scam.  I went to Mardindale.com (a Lexis-Nexis company) and came up with a Thomas A. Landis in Lansdale, PA (no phone # listed) and, on Findlaw.com, a Thomas G. Landis, in Philadelphia, PA (267-257-1212), both of which appear to be genuine attorneys. I find no attorney Tom Landis with either the 800/853-4000 phone number or the 215/642-3400.  If you have a problem with them, your rights are listed under the Fair Debt Collection Act by the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov) and you should consult the Act before responding to them at all.

I received a letter from this company about a account my grandparents opened 17 years ago and payed every month for 15 years until both of them died.  I spoke with a Mr. Adams about this account and asked if they did a check on accounts that come into there office.  He replied with YES, a very through check.  I asked why they did not see that both my grandparents had died.  He then wanted to know information about me and if I was going to settle the debt.  I told him it was none of his business what my job and finances were and that my grandparents had no estate and he needed to stop sending letters.  Mr. Adams then came up with family information and wanted to know if any of these people would be paying the account.  I informed him he was way out of line and could not do anything since my grandparents name is not attached to any of the properties he wanted to file a lien aganist to settle my grandparents account.  he then started laughing at me and said they could do anything they wanted.  Mr. Adams was very rude and unprofessional.  Please be careful when dealing with this company.

June 25, 2008, Another "law office" call, they claimed I owed money on two bank cards, which I never had. Then after speaking to this "legal assistant" she could not identify where these "acounts" originated from. As I was on hold, a man, very rudely said I owe these amounts then proceeded to hang up. Afetr some quick research, found this website and called that "Legal assistant" back, still to no avail. Seems like the legal assistant didn't have research capability. I WOULD HATE TO HAVE THEM REPRESENTING ME AS MY ATTORNEY!
She told me this account was from 1997. The phone number I called back was 1-(215)-642-3400. The caller ID phone number showed up as 1-(215)-642-3395. Surpisingly enough, it was the SAME COMPANY. I have worked in debt collection when I was younger and never have seen this level of unprofessionalism. What a scam. Bottom feeders. Be Aware - Do not give out personal info.

I saw this number on caller Id today after getting off the computer and wondered who it was. I pay monthly on MANY dr.and hospital bills but I try topay every month even if it is only a few dollars. I will simply hang up on them if they call me and cut whatever I was paying for this bill in half.

    Outraged
Received a letter demanding payment of a large amount of money supposedly owe by me 18 years ago.
I called back at 1-800-853-4000 found out same as 215-642-3400.  The "Lawyer" was rude and direct in his language.   He demanded personal information.  I refused to give him any until he could give me proof of the document in question.  Of course he refused saying I had to put it in writing and fax it to him.
I worked as a debt collector for seventeen years and never experience this unprofessionalism . This is why I did not gave him my personal info.
I am very skeptical at this point which leads me to beleive this is a scam.
    Has anyone reported them yet?
After searching on the internet for answers I am glad I found this board. Thank you all for your comments and very helpful inputs.

I got a call from "Judy" at Landis just today, supposedly looking for my daughter who hasn't lived here in a year!  They've called about 3 times before but never left a message until today.  Same message as "Not a Sucker".  Almost passed it on to my daughter - trying to be responsible.  Then googled and found this.  Thank God!  I figure if it was legit, they'd contact her in writing as any reputable lawyer would do.
Is there someone to report this to?  Attorney General?
Thanks to everyone who posted information on this site!

These guys are real jerks. Showed up as Atty. T. Landis on the caller ID. Asked for someone and when I told them they were not here, he informed me that they were because he had called the neighbors before he called me. Knew he was lying then. Hope he calls back, I want to harass him some about child pornography now that I've found this site.

I received a call again this morning from a Juan with the law firm of Tom Landis in Bensalem, PA. My husband and I in 2000 opened an account with American Appliance and charged a Air Conditioner and Dryer. We received the Dryer, but they tried to give us a floor sample Dryer when they delivered the items I noticed the Dryer was damaged and we refused it. And we demanded a new replacement Dryer.I also purchased a 10year warranty from American Appliance to cover these items. Well wouldn't you know the Air Conditioner caught fire after having it only a week. I called American Appliance to inform them of what had happened, and asked them when could I bring this in for a replacement and when was the Dryer being delivered that I ordered. I was told that there was no manager their at the time that I could speak with, but the gentelmen was nice enough to take down my information for the manager to call me back. Well low an behold that is the same week they went out of business here in Philadelphia,PA owing thousands of consumers money and merchandise. I never received the Dryer and I had to pay out my pocket for a new Air Conditioner That I paid cash money for, and know after all these years this call comes today from Juan with the Tom Landis Law Firm.  I explained everything to him and then he puts a gentlemen by the name of Paul Kenwood on the line who told me to just put the [***] out on the porch and he will have someone come pick it up. I would like to start a class action suit against this firm for unfair legal practice and harrassment.

    "paige" the victim
Landis office called me again. I called back, they answered the phone just "Law Office" and told the debt collector who didn't identify himself, after I told him to cease and desist further contact he kept saying I owed this debt.I told him I had my attorney look over my credit report, he repeatedly harrassed me. Finally after going round and round with him telling him there is NO validity to this debt, he said, "Are you refusing to pay this debt on a recorded line?" I remembered this was Mr. "Mitchell Porter", the same man who said I needed to "look myself in the mirror".
I had to finally say, Thank you and Goodbye. if he continues to call, I'll document any call/contact and I'll have to send my cease and desist letter in writing. I will start a webpage if it continues. Please read your consumer rights before contacting them, better yet, don't call them, you'll just end up a nervous wreck. We have rights and they are violating them.

I received a call from 215-642-3400, and I talked to this jerk named Ron. The disputed amount was from a mastercard that I had over 8 years ago, which I have since paid off. These people at this so-called collection agency are equally rude. They told me that I had to fax in proof that I made a payment, and I told them no. Ron told me that he didn't have to respect me at all over the phone, and that he would continue to call me everyday. Who are these people? I'm definitely taking this to court.

Nicole Hart called my cell phone today and asked for my husband. She said my husband owed $22,000.00 and gave me a 25 year old address.  I refused to give her any information and she became rude and sarcastic on the telephone.  I told her this sounded like a zombie debt collector to me.  She said she was a legal assistant for Attorney Landis and was calling to give my husband a last chance to pay before going to court.  When I refused to answer any questions she accused me of being a deadbeat who probably had tons of unpaid debts.  Do not give these people any information whatsoever when they call.
