This is a big scam.  DO NOT call the number or give them any personal info.  The cops have been  notified and are looking into it.  The officer told me not to call the number and if they try calling back just don't answer the phone if it has a number that starts with 215.  Heads up everyone.

so I google the number cheked out some things he called back I asked some question about the frim he said go to the bbb and check the firm out in see that we are not a fraud so thats my next step...

Said I owed 8000.00 for a credit card (Washington Mutual)which I never had.  Gave case # CA00357 and said legal action was being taken against me.  Tried to get me to verify incorrect personal information.  Was asked to return call to Kim Jones and was forwarded to John Lombardi.  After I told him he had incorrect information I was threatened.

I got a call from these [***] as well...I do owe money to a credit card and I guess they bought my account...well the first person I talked to was a man who was pretty much a jerk to begin with so I figured I would have some fun with this lowlife. He started telling me that I needed to pay because I owed money and that since the card was opened once and never paid it was considered fraud. (lol). After awhile he apparently got tired of listening to me so some woman who was the lead negotioator, not even an attorney, got on and did the same thing, demanded I pay or else. She then stated that I had 2 options, pay out of my checking acct or pay with the credit card that is listed on my credit report. I informed her that I have no money as I have been out of work since sept. She said "I completely understand" which is impossible since she has a job...she then said well then if your not going to use youre checking account then we will go ahead and use the credit card without my authorization... i told her that I will just cancel it and she said well you better do it in the next ten minutes and hung up...she then called me back and left a voicemail telling me to call her back because she had my confirmation number...I havent checked the card but if I find that she did then may God have mercy on her soul...

I got a call from this Tom Landis Clown. He associates tried to tell me that they were going to pursue me for a debt that they have no records on. I am well versed at these matters and they don't have a leg to stand on. When they saw that I was not going to play there game they immediately hung up. I called them back and told if they call here again I was going to bring them up on charges as per Fair Credit Reporting Act 611d. I would not let these creeeps intimidate you they are bottom feeders tryin to hox people into paying back debt that we the tax payers are already shouldering due to the criminal nature of these companies practices. They already spent our money got paid from insurance and now are getting bailed out via our tax dollars. I told those chumps to come and get  me in court and we will see whats what. The sad part is that I already solved this credit problem several years ago.

I just received a call from this number today...It was in regards to an old credit card debt I have had since about 1999-2000...around there...the "legal assitant" asked me if I have received a letter she sent I told her no, she then insisted that I find a fax machine so she could send me the letter she was already suppossed to have sent...Needless to say I did not make it to a fax machine...I told her I knew of the debt but I forgot it and would like to make payments.....the thing is she insisted the first payment be almost half of what I owe.....obviously if I could only make payments...they couldnt be 1,000 dollar payments...when I told her I could not make payments...she then proceeded to tell me...they would have to take action because I was denying my debt or something like that...anyway, she proceeds to tell me that her call may be monitored...for their purposes and then asks me if I am refusing to pay off my debt...I told her I was not refusing anything, but can only make reasonable payments at this time...which they would not let me do...anyhow at this point, she hung up.....when I tried to call the place back I was told by the operator that I couldnt speak to anyone because I didnt get the persons name or operating number(she never gave it-and I never asked because I didnt expect the person to hang up) I asked the operator flat-out if anyone from the place could talk to me and answer myquestions...he told me it is too large of a company and he wouldnt know where to direct me...Here is my question.....1. This debt is about nine years old...wouldnt it be past the point of legal action? I dont applaud my collecting credit card ebt or anything like that I was a stupid college student at the time...but these places are ridiculous...2. Does this place have a legitimate claim against me...I live in PA...or are they chasing after money that has long since been dead? Any response would be appreciated, this site helped ease my worry...Something did seem off about the place......

My answering Service received yet ANOTHER call from this gentlman and I use the term loosely.$;24 PM Pacific time on Feb. 17,2009.In the state of Nevada it is is a FELONY to harrass or place calls of this nature either to a residence or a someones's work.It is under state statute 201.255.I am calling the Attonrey General of HIs state as well as the Attorney General of mine and the help number agaist these bottom feeders.

Ihave received the third of three harrassing phone cals at 4:28 PM Pacific time on 2/18/2009.It is a fleony in the state of Nevada to make harrssing phone calls to anyone's resdidence or work number. It is state statute 201.255 of the Nevada penal code.A Ms.Valerie Gates called me and told mr her sctension was 230.I am preferring criminal charges against her and her company iwth the Attorney General of her state and mine.I am also calling their phone carrier t havethem tnheir phone systems shut off.

These people,keep calling even though a Cease and Desist order have gone out to them.They are violating Nevada state law by placing harrassing phone calls to my residence night and day.Nevada statute 201.255 make it a felony to plce harrassing phone calls to a residence.I DO want to press criminal charges against Thomas Landis,Esq for Fraud by saying that they are a law firem when they areNOT a law firm at all,but a debt collection company.It is also Misrepresentation and harrassment,these are also criminal charges which I do want to place on this company as well as violation of Nevada Law 201.255 as wel as harrassment.I keep a og journal as I ws told to do by law enforcement.I AM gong to cal the Attorney General of Pennsylvania on Fridsy morning as wel the state Attorney General of Nevada.I also want their phone service shut off for placing harrassing and hang up phone calls to my answering service.

My ex-sister and law got some correspondence on my dad supposedly concern a law suit.  She contacted us and we call the buck of debt jockeys.  We were very nice and asked a lot of questions.  Several things didn't align with my dad's information and told them I would call back.  Then spoke with my dad to confirm the information that this shyster bunch had given me.  I called them back at 1-800-853-4000 and told this wasn't my dad's debt and their information was not correct.  The person on the phone said thanks and they would remove it from their records.  Not 10 minutes later I get an abnoxious call back stating it was my dad and their attoneys had done the research, thus it could not be wrong.  Went into a speech on how the credit burea works trying to scare us, when I called her down on this, she got mad and vulgar, then hung up.  I went to the internet and did some research on this bunch, then called them back.  Of course, Lisa Mazoni was not available and a man answered, I told him I had googled his agency and found that they were not a company in good standing and their were a lot of bad reports about them on the internet.  I guess he didn't like that and hung up.

These fine people called me today as well but first they called my parents looking for me. Odd within an hour or less of calling my parents 'looking for me' they then called my house. Not to mention they were looking for me under my maiden name. If you can find me why are you calling my parents? Not to mention I am a GROWN adult and have not lived at home in eons.

Anyhow at first spoke to Lisa Mazonni she was nice enough but all that they were telling me seemed quite odd and off. She claimed they had mailed a letter 30 days prior and this matter was urgent and must be taken care of by 4pm today. She then said ok we realize you will need time to discuss this etc... I need to talk to my asst so then I get blindly transferred to Matthew Bullock who was a complete moron. VERY unprofessional and rude. He con't to force the urgency of their claim etc... I said I have no idea what you are talking about and he continued to hurl the insults. Insisted I receive some sort of fax now and I told him I do not have fax machine he said this is of extreme urgency and I should go to the library etc to get his fax I said no. Anyhow got off the phone with him and began to search out this co and found all this. Needless to say I was shocked and relieved that my gut was right when I found all these other reports. I will be reporting them to the attorney general and hope I don't receive the harassing phone calls like many of you have.

These rude, obnoxious jerks call my cell phone 50 million times a day and leave a gazillion messages saying that they are filing a lawsuit against me! What a bunch of bull!!!! I will never give these phony lawyers a penny!!! I guarantee I will be reporting them for harrassment. NO ONE SHOULD PUT UP WITH THIS!!!!!

Repeatedly got calls and threats and was told once "Put her on the phone" He even said "You know that this is an attorney calling."

Called yesterday morning asking for a person who lived at my home address 4 years ago before my family bought this house. Caller ID said ATTY T Landis with this number. I asked for who he is collecting for and the person on the phone gave me a line about 3rd party information being confidential.

I informed him that calling Kentucky from Penn with that caller ID and acting as an agent for that attorney consitutes practicing law without a license if he is not a member of the bar in Kentucky. He did not like that comment.  I berated him as an attorney for having such a poor staff that did not do their due - diligence on whom they contacted from their skip tracing efforts.  I advised him to cease and desist from calling this number again or I will contact both the bar for the area code showing up on my caller ID, the attorney generals office for Kentucky and the area code showing up on my caller ID, contact the Bar for Kentucky, as well as the Federal Trade Commission since he obviously did not know enough law to know the 8am to 9pm rule as part of the Fair Credit Reporting ACT/Fair Debt Collecting Act.  http://www.frbsf.org/publications/consumer/creditrights.html I told him his momma probably dresses him funny and what friends he may have probably call him Shirley behind his back.

He started to stammer and replied he would not be calling my number again and hung up.

Report them to your state Banking Committee. I did and have received a call from the Banking Committee Office. I explained what happened, they apparently spoke with the office of Attorney Landis who has agreed to remove our number from their list.

When talking to these sleazebags - don't give them ammunition. Don't yell, don't threaten. Just let them know they are incorrect. Get their information (Name, etc.) and say if they call back you will report them. And if they call back - DO IT. It is the only way to get these people to stop

Calling their bluff really seems to work. They called me back once more and once I told them I KNOW who you are they have not called back since.....Although they were very upset with my claims and were basically yelling at me. I told them I was done talking to them, to never call back and I'm hanging up and she continued to yell at me.

I have been receiving phone calls for four (4) years from agencies claiming  to collect money owed by a Elaine Walker.  I have always stated  and still do not know this Elaine Walker.  I have always asked to have my phone number removed.  Upon this request the parties calling hang up.  Today, 5 March 2009 I received three phone calls from agencies claiming to contact Elaine Walker for debts owed.  Two hung up.  One gave me the attorney's name - Thomas Landis. After requesting to talk to him or a supervisor the person who called stated they were busy.  I stated to stop calling this number. They hung up.  I've sense contacted the Attorney General office for consumer protection and they know of a Thomas Landis (attorney) and Stated I can file a claim against him for this abusive phone calling and harrassment.  I am proceeding..I do not have caller ID.  Upon googling Thomas Landis, I received this sight.  I wanted to pass on my information...

Received hngup phone call at 3:32 PM Pacific time on 3/9/09.This cal is from Thomas Landis AKA Donald Burak who is in jail for child pornography.He is in violation of Nevada State Statute 201.255 whch forbids the making of harrassing phone calls.Company perosonel cam go to federal prison and pay heavy fines.It is also harrassement and a violation of my right to privacy.I will call the Attorney General of PA and then the BBB and file coplaint after complaint until this company is shut downand its violaters in jailThey MUST cease and deist immedialtely or face serious legal and criminal charges

Got a call from 215-642-3400, a Ms. Travis.  This is the Thomas Landis Law Firm (1-800-853-4000).  If you Google them, they have been sued hundreds of times for fraud; they are the bottom feeding butt wipes of debt collectors who purchase debts from last century for pennies on the dollar than attempt to extort old people and single women into paying.  LISTEN UP: even if it is you that owed the debt, most states have Statutes of Limitation of around 4 years.  If they don't sue you by then, they are time barred.  But don't make a single payment or the clock could start over.  DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  SIMPLY TELL THEM UNDER FEDERAL LAW YOU DEMAND THAT THEY COMMUNICATE WITH YOU SOLELY IN WRITING--NO MORE PHONE CALLS.  Then when they call again, tell them you are recording the call, tell them again not to call you and site the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act and your attorney (whether you hvae one or not)

My husband and I too have been receiving phone calls several times every day @ 2 different phone numbers.  When we tried to call back they would hang up, then call back later and leave very harrassing messages.  We finally spoke w some moron there who wanted my checking info and such.  I stated I would need to consult my husband first and we would call back in 1 hour. We called back 1 1/2 hours later and both of our phones had very rude and obseen messages from this guy that we said we'd call in 1 hour. Then he tried telling my husband that I agreed to pay and "demanded" he be given checking info, he also added that the call was recorded-which was NEVER stated during any of the phone calls made-but when we asked to have him play the recording back to him he refused.  Something is up and it STINKS I hope someone can get to the bottom of things-this is just plain SCARY.
