Mother-in-law got a call from 800-853-4000 ext 108 looking for her ex husband. Said they could help. Didn't give any more information than that. My husband had me look up Tom Landis and I found this site. Deffinately a scam and if you receive any phone calls for this number or the 215-642-3400 number report harrassment. These are harrassment phone calls.

Mr. Landis is indeed an attorney with a criminal and disciplinary record along with past and present FDCPA cases against him.

The most unprofessional threatening people I have ever encountered.  I plan on filing a complaint against them.  I'm not sure what kind of "law office" they are but their email is for apmfinancial not a law office.

got a call at my home asking for me by name, when I asked who was calling, he said Sean, from where I asked, he mumbles atty Landis, what is this regarding I ask, he gets annoyed and asks who is "he" talking to, when I tell him my name, he then proceeds to tell me, he's "going over some paperwork and saw that I would be able to get him in touch with my ex husband" (he referred to him by name)-----14 years and a state away, you're going to tell me I'm the person to get in touch with? yeah ok-----When he mentioned my exes name I told him he had the wrong number and hung up.  10 min later I called asked for Sean identified myself, and was put on hold!!!!!!ok??????

I just received a call from the 215-642-3400 phone number claiming they were a Law Office of Thomas Landis and looking to collect a debt. Mr. Bradley was very rude and hung up on me. Is this a scam should I be worried. I tried to call back and the receptionist also hung up on me. What kind of business is this?

Ewing attorney pleads guilty to having child porn

TRENTON -- In pleading guilty to a single charge of possessing child pornography, an attorney who lives in Ewing admitted in federal court Wednesday that he kept on his computer hundreds of sexually-explicit and violence-laced photos of children, U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie announced.

Donald Burak, 49, of the 100 block of Tulip Lane, entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Mary L. Cooper, and remains free on a $100,000 bond until he is sentenced on July 24, according to Christie.
Among the conditions of his bail, Burak is not allowed to have contact with children unless another adult is present and he is not allowed access to the internet at home and is only allowed internet access at work if he is supervised, according to a court document dated March 5.
In court Wednesday, Christie said, Burak admitted that when authorities seized his computer on June 14, 2007, it contained child pornography that he had downloaded from the internet.
"The computer contained more than 600 images of minors under the age of 12 engaging in sexually explicit conduct and that certain images contained depictions of sadistic or masochistic conduct or other depictions of violence involving children," Christie said in a news release.
The charge to which Burak pleaded guilty carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

Collection agencies are becoming increasingly aggressive and filing more lawsuits than ever.

In some places telephone harassment is punishable by of fine of $10,000 and/or a year in prison.

I believe they border, if not cross, the line of harrassment.  Also, make sure you find out who their "client" is.

All the complaining on this site will do nothing.
Go to the FCC and file a complaint.
When enough people do this they will get shut down.

I kept getting call after call from this number asking for someone I do not know.  I told them many times they had the wrong number but they continued to call and leave messages.  After 6 months of getting 5-6 phone calls a day from this number I finally got my cell phone number changed today... I couldn't take it anymore!!!  I feel like I am breaking free and can finally know that when my phone rings it will be for me.

Funny thing, reading all this - Now they call themselves "Child Maintenace Law Firm" according to Terrence Mitchell who called from 215-642-3400 which on the caller ID displays as "ATTY T LANDIS"  In researching reverse phone look up it states "land line" only, no buisness name, however, if you google Attorney Thomas Landis the other phone number matches as well as this 800-355-1273 number directly to "Terrence Mitchell" from that same office.  LOL Other funny thing is it comes to your wonder page so I can yet add this ripoff firm as well.  They are also on ripoff.com.  I also filed a paper complaint with the FTC regarding this company. Unfounded information and uncofirmed information is passed to this company and they do call and swear at you, bully you, and tell you that you are a liar if you tell them you haveno idea what they are talking about.  Whether told in person, or told in writing this is unfounded, they do put their information on your credit report.  I have fought with the credit companies as well regarding this unfounded and inconfirmed infromation they are reporting.  I will wait and see what the FTC does and hopefully someone can STOP these fools.

Someone claiming to be Tara Singer from Tom Landis' law firm called me for the second time today.  She became very rude when I refused to verify any of the addresses she had of mine.  She even had the last for digits of my social security number.  Even with all of this information  she had on me she refused to give me a physical address for this "law firm" or even tell me what the matter was concerning unless I verified her information first.  Of course I refused to verify anything for a complete stranger claiming to represent another complete stranger.  Both times they claimed they would send me a letter which surprise, surprise has never arrived.  Even before I found this site through google this operation sounded completely fraudulent.  I really would like to know why they chose me out of all the other people in this world they could have harassed.

Got a call asking for my brother by name. Was given a message to contact 'Steve Young' with number. Not much more than that. Call back number left was 1-800-853-4000

Some clown who called himself "Kenneth Rivers" left my wife a voice message on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009.  Rivers said he was calling from the "Thomas Landis law firm."  When my wife called this guy back, he passed her call onto a male third party who was verbally abusive as he tried to collect a credit card debt that was well past the 6-year statute of limitations for debt collection from a Colorado citizen.  He went so far as to ask my wife for our bank routing number, and said, "I know you have the funds" to pay off the debt!  He also insisted that his firm had made numerous attempts to contact my wife by mail -- another lie.  He told my wife she owed Citibank $34K, but was willing to negotiate down to $20K!

These bottom-feeding jerks aren't trying to collect money for the original creditors -- they're trying to get it for THEMSELVES!  They try to intimidate people over the phone with scare tactics, because they know if they try to do it through the mail, they're commiting a federal offense (mail fraud)!  Quite honestly, I'll be shocked if these idiots call us again.  They know they won't get one red cent regarding this collection, and they know they're legally in the wrong in trying to collect it!

I have had several calls like this from multiple phone numbers.  It's a form of harassment.  The only way I was able to stop it was to report it to the FCC.  You also have to threaten legal intervention and a complaint filed with your local fraud agency.

Do not answer your phone.  Look at your caller ID.  If you don't recognize the caller, don't answer the phone.  Eventually they stop.

I just received a call today from the Law Office of T. Landis. Phone # 215-642-3400. My husband do acknowledges that he owes this debt, but not the amount Landis said he owes. I told Mr. landis to send me a statement of what my husband actually owes and he told me he already spoke to him and that my husband was suppose to send a one-time payment of 150.00 and make monthly payments of 25.00 a month. Well I told this guy my husband is not sending any payments that is beyond the statue of limitations and without a statement of such on what he owes, he will not receive anything. Boy! When I mentioned the Statues of Limitations, he told don't insult his intelligence. Well I told him don't insult me too. This is ridiculous and a headache! I'm just glad I found this website on everyone's comment, before I had my husband send in a payment.

I keep getting calls from this number, too, for MONTHS.  I have a setting on my phone where I can store a number in the phonebook so that when that number comes in it won't ring, which is what I did with this number.  I was very suspicious of the strange messages they were leaving on my voicemail and have never called them back. The same thing with a number from "Account Porfolio" 215-642-3395,, which is apparently coming from the same location.
