Thanks Judy, I will check into that.  I met my husband Ramon, through a singles group and we were together 25 years until his death.  I know there are good men out there, just a real eye-opening experience.  Thanks again.

We could start a club for lonely stupid women, or we could thank God for the experience of now knowing that match.com is not the place to meet that special person.  For me, I'm going to check the singles clubs in my local area and stay off internet dating.  I have also received several e-mails again from the Benin Republic for their free money.  Used to get one every day, but for many months had not received an e-mail.  The scammers can't find us if we don't give them the opportunity, so I'm going the safe route and look into local clubs.  Hope you do the same.  My best to you.

Was contacted by dasteve@gmail.com in Nov.2014 This was on Match.com
Same story of Shell Investment Fund Mgr.  Widowed. Married 26 yrs. Mom in Italy just died. Same cookie cutter messages, but the company can change to Vanguard or etc. Asked for 26,800. Right b4 Christmas. Called me crying! Then asked for 10,000.  Then down to $3,000.00 to come back home to me.yeah, right.          Told him he was a scammer   Then no answer back.  LO & BEHOLD, just sent an e mail right b4 Easter to talk again because of "My Failure to Communicate!"  They (the Scammer Ring) must have turned the "inactive" e mails to a new guy. Still they are on Match.com. Ladies, I have done a lot of research & Match.com seems to have A  Lot of scammers logged on. They are " trolling" for people to catfish.  What a strange world this is.  Pls be careful. Did not send him any $$. And am not going to use online dating sites.

I have contacted match.com about the men who tried to scam me, but all I got was a canned e-mail about thank you for taking the time to write and here's three days free on the site.  Nope, I'm done.  I am 70 years old, not some love sick teenager who HAS to have a man to make my life complete.

You hang it there also,  I figure if God thinks I need a man in my life, it isn't going to be from on-line dating at match.com.

I had two who contacted me and said they were using someone else's account and I told them no thanks.  Just a mini-scam set up for the big scam.  I grew up in a small town and when the scammers came into town to fix your roof or do other manual labor, everyone hunkered down until they left.  It's amazing how many grifters and scammers there are in this world.

I heard nothing after asking in late November 2014 for his help in getting my money back. Just to see what happened.  Even though I never expected to be contacted again, recently received, 4 months later, a YIM "am here to help for I still love you."  They try their best to suck you back into the scam.  Have read that their purported "efforts" to assist in retrieval of your funds is yet another scam -- you have to pay, as always -- for nothing.

We are stronger than many men and can thrive on our own.  Being married or in a relationship with the wrong person does not mean you won't be lonely, even sitting next to someone  My former husband of 40 years told me he would have left 20 years earlier but did not have the courage to be on his own (until he found a more lucrative prospect lined up).  Hahahahaha!  I'm free (still working through things); he's NOT!

WARNING:  I haven't read about this issue on this site, but please, please do NOT be coerced into agreeing to have an organization/corporation/LLC established under YOUR NAME, as sole member, with YOU paying all costs and fees, perhaps through  LegalZoom, including local business bank accounts, prior to "his" imminent return "home," at which time the "business" will be transferred to "his and your" names, as partners.

I heard that too from Brad of Vanguard International and did not bite.  At least the memory of him helped when the next two contacted me.  How can a person expect you to be so gullible that after only a few weeks of e-mails, the "I love you" crops up.  The last one started it, of course before he asked for money, and I told him not to use the L word as it was way too soon to even mention it.  Didn't stop him and I just mentally groaned.
