i received the call today and i do remember filling out a form to win a free lexus. the gentleman on the phone told me that i didn't win because the draw would be in March 2010 and if i do win i would be notified by mail. he called to verify if the info on the ballot i filled out was correct, which it was. it seems pretty legit to me. if i could win a lexus or a trip to hawaii or vegas...whatever, just for listening to a 90min speech on timeshares then fine.

Called my business line repeatedly and left a message claiming that I was in the final draw for a Lexus but needed to confirm in person... After asking to be removed from these scammers call-list I was immediately disconnected (thinking they had taken my number off) only to have another message the week after.

I have filed a claim with Telus since they can't seem to get the hint of "please take this number off your call-list"

This number called me and left me a VM saying "Hello MEGAN.  It's (whatever his name was) just wanted to call about some things you filled out on your form MEGAN.  You can call me back at this number extension (whatever it was) MEGAN.  Thanks again MEGAN.  Hope to hear from you soon MEGAN."
This person said the name "Megan" like 5 times in one message which is not even close to my name that it seemed fishy and I never even attempted to call back.
They then called back once a day for 2 days afterwards but did not leave any messages.
Also there was no caller ID just this number.

Entered at a pizza joint in Surrey. Also some fried chicken joint in Surrey. Tim called yesterday when I was napping, and left a message saying he needed to verify some info. I don't mind... I work graveyards and today have time to return his call armed with all that I learned here..thanx, you guys and gals.
I thought a two year lease would be a clever tactic in a horrible time for auto makers to make a sale on a buyout after two years..guess not. What I learned here is mixed.
One claim of a cash option on the lease,
Many claims of, "if u don't go u r an idiot" to the freebies given for a 90 minute lecture.
And claims of timeshare sales wanted.
    Hmm....
None of these sound to shabby..
I've gone to a four hour lecture/seminar to test a webpage for twenty bucks an hour. Gotta be silly to not do it.
As for the timeshare thing, well, they are good if you use them. I know people that own some. Again, good if you want and use it.
I am going to call him back in about an hour and discuss my options, and, [***]..maybe I am one of the lucky ones, and might get the lease...after all, they do know about this site, and to keep credibility, have to give sonething away now and again. O- Ya .. I agree with the guy who said my address isn't personal. Christ, people are paranoid these days. Step out on your deck or patio and you can be watched by sattelite, so what the hell is wrong with someone who want to give you gifts for listening having your phone number??
Anyways, wish me luck, I'll post after I Talk to Tim for a bit.
    Happy New Year!

Your address is personal information. That's not just my opinion; it is the law according to the  Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), Go to http://www.oipcbc.org/ if you are interested. However, filling it in on a contest entry form means that you are freely giving it away.

    Bill: don't call people idiots.
"There not going to come to your house" instead of "They're not coming to your house".
"I had no idea verifying an address if someone else has your correct address is giving up sacred information" instead of "I had no idea verifying that your address is correct is giving up sacred information.
"Your an idiot" instead of "You're an idiot".
    Who's the idiot?

Received another call from Aviawest's Nanaimo, BC office today.  The previous instance was during the summer of 2009.  As then, they called to confirm the details of my entry form for a contest to win a Lexus sports car.  Apparently either I or a family member filled out the form at a shopping mall.  This seems unlikely as I have Parkinson's disease and can barely write, let alone fill out a form.  I can drive when absolutely necessary, such as to visit my only family member - a very elderly mother who is in an extended care hospital and not prone to filling out forms on my behalf.  This scam may be Aviawest's way of getting around the do not call list (which I am on) but they must think I'm pretty gullible.  On the contrary and I don't appreciate being lied to.  Thank goodness for call display.

Just got the same call as the rest of you.  I did call them back because It's possible that I did fill out a form somewhere but left a message for Ryan White at the number above. Was to quote # 679968 to win the Lexus. So glad for the internet though cause it sounded to fishy to me.

Thanks for your insight everyone! I will ask to be put on their "do not call" list.

    Good luck everyone!

My daughter received a call today while I was at work. Same thing as the others, I apparently entered a draw for a lexus? Dont recall ever doing that. They said to call back mon-thursday and enter a code that they left for me for ID. Is this a scam or not? Does anyone know? I'm not too sure if I want to call to find out.

Aviawest is not a scam. They do have draws for various vehicle leases. If you respond to there phone calls nothing bad will happen. They are not going to come to your house and jam a time share down your throat. If they are calling you, you either entered a draw sometime in the previous few years, or your phone number is listed in the phone book. If you choose to go listen to their time share seminars you may win a prize of some sort.

If you do not want your phone number and address to be public, pay to have it be unlisted.

Although you may not like Aviawest calling you, they are not doing anything illegal.

There is no reason to get so worked up about a company calling you. If you do not wish to talk to them just tell them so, get call display, or if you are very serious have the number blocked from your phone line.

received a call from 250-716-2650 about winning a 2009 Lexis on Feb. 17th/10........I asked the fellow why he was calling for a 2009 Lexis and he told me my husband filled out a form "in the mall"  when I asked which mall, he could not tell me.
I then asked for the date that the entry form was filled out, he said over a year ago. He then read our address back to us.  I asked what postal code he had and he said, "Oh, I will need that too".

I questioned him about who he was and how he got our phone number as it is unlisted and my husband is not a "Mall" type of guy ever!   He said he was from "AVOS resorts"  I asked him to spell it and that is what he spelled.  I hung up.

Will have to put a block on any number coming from that office.

Just received a call from this same company yesterday night.  I was surprised because the VM said I might have won a Lexus SC after filling out a form and to call back with the code he left.  I don't recall filling out any forms (not my style), so I checked up the company.  Looks like a timeshare sell job.  I'll pass.

I think it is hilarious reading all of these entries which matched the voicemail left on my phone. It was to clarify my ballot when entered for a new lexus. I have not heard back after I called them back but i have noticed that even the extension number was the same as theses other entries. The best part is these go back two years and no one has ever reported winning a car but they are still in business. I think that with some close scrutiny maybe I can win the car that everyone has been talking about. I mean the draw has to be sometime.... ROFL good luck to all future calls

Aviawest Is not a scam, I know this and I'm 100% sure, cause I work there.I found It hard to believe, although they are persistant and may often annoy you.If you take the time to actually not be stubborn and listen then you'll see that you actually will recieve 2 out of 5 gifts and they're excellent gifts just for attending a presentation.YES, Timeshares are mentioned. It's all on you If you actually want to purchase them.Don't be so narrow minded and actually take a few mins. to listen, It would be illegal to say otherwise on the phone.Whoever said that things never come free Is [***], cause' I've built myself from the ground up on free [***] almost.

I just got a call, telling me to call someone in there office. Of course I was out, so they left the 716-2650 number, I called back not knowing, as they left no details of their call, and I'm still waiting to hear back....it sounds really weird to me...The best thing to do would be to ask them to take your name of their list I guess, right?
