- Fedup| 1 replyA man from this number phoned and requested my wife to let me talk to him. She said I was on the town and wouldn't be home until late. She then said she was my wife and could she do anything for hime. He said that he was phoning to let me know that I was still in the draw. She asked what draw this was and he replied that I had entered the draw in some mall or some service station. She replied that she knew nothing about it. His answer was that he would call back to talk to me.

- JB7514 replies to FedupSo I entered a draw at the mall for a BMW. Thinking that because this was at a mall that it was legit.
We got a call about a week ago saying we were 1 out of 17 to win the grand prize. And for sure we would be walking away with two of the main prizes.
So we went to the grand opening of the resort, to find out it had already been open for one year. They were so pushy to get me to put a down payment of 8500$ right then and there, the lady even went a got another man to try and push the sales.
At the end of it, we were to swipe our 1 of 17 cards to see what prizes we had one.
We won a prepaid 50$ visa and a two for one night at the resort. But the cost of staying there is highly priced for one night. The visa card was declined over and over. When I got home I called the Visa company, turns out to be that Aviawest owns their own card, and that the card was not 50, but 40 because they take 15%. I have contacted head office regarding this and they guy has told me that I will be held responsible for a damages for opening my mouth regarding the scam. They whole thing costed me 204.00 in the end. Babysitters, cab, and the visa that didn`t work after I went for dinner. How embarrassing!
The funny thing is, is that jim person told me that in all the years of doing this they have had no cpmlaints nor problems. will just on here there is 7 pages of ranting, and the bbb has many complaints. Nobody has to riun their name, they are doing a good job of that on their own!
Beware of any contest. These days nothing is free, remember that! - Parkside ScamI agree!

- RIf calls like these continue and/or you are receiving calls from other organizations attempting to market their products to you, all you have to do is ask to be placed on their "Do Not Call List".

Also, if you're considering a timeshare purchase you should compare Aviawest prices to that of resales. Have a look at Craigslist or UsedVictoria and see the difference in price between Aviawest and resellers. These products are not liquid! You can't even give them away. What happens then when you buy the product and a few years later you no longer believe that it suits your lifestyle? Good luck offloading it. Remember, if you don't use it, you still have to pay maintenance fees and membership dues.- Caller: Aviawest Resorts

- camo dude replies to D1GGY| 2 replieshi all,
actually it's not that bad. I got a call from them, confirmed the info, made an appt and 10 days later after a boooooooooring 90 minute session of desperate attempts of "mr. I wanna be a salesperson - with a jack lemon mania" the wife and I got a $50 visa gift certificate (which did work without a problem in two different locations) and a free 2 night accomondation at their parkswille bc resort. all you got to do is waitout the session, at the end say that you'll call them (the only way to get rid of a salesrep - as I am one myself) and once you call back not to forget to say that you want to be removed from their call list.
if they're trying to play it smooth you've got to play it smoother, grab the prices and wave goodbye.
good luck all,
camo dude. - j replies to Skye| 1 replywow you are sure ignorant, I actually work for AviaWest and we are NOT a scam. We are totally legit and people actually do win the vehicles. Get your facts straight before you go giving a good, family owned business a bad name. I should smack you.

- Joey| 5 repliesAviaWest is NOT a scam, I work for the company. it is 100% legit. People really do win the luxury vehicles and get great prizes just for showing up to the presentations. Anybody who says it is a scam is an ignorant idiot who doesnt have a clue what they are talking about. We are family owned and operated since 1991 and just built a 90 million dollar resort in Victoria last year called Parkside. We have an A++ rating with the better business bureau and we are the largest resort company on vancouver island.

If they call after you've made the request to be placed on their "DNC" list, you can call, write or email the CRTC and report Aviawest at which point a file will be opened (if it hasn't been already) and the company will be subject to investigation by that administrative body. Should complaints continue to arise, Aviawest could be slapped with a substantial fine, publication of their offences and a stern finger wag.
Also, if anyone else out there is considering a timeshare purchase you should compare Aviawest prices to that of resales. If you REALLY want to purchase a timeshare product and can afford a resale, there are some implications in terms of the services that you would normally be able to enjoy had you purchased the product directly from the company... I wont elaborate, I'll leave that to the timeshare sales associate and closer to explain. - Bunny replies to READ THIS| 1 replyI received a call last night from this number and I did not answer. I received one a few years ago too but with another phone number so I don't know how they got my new one.
If they call again I will be telling them I will be placing them on the Do not call List so hopefully they don't call me again after that! - ShelleyToday I got a message, from that same number, wanting to verify some information on my entry. She said she was from AVOS Resorts Nanaimo. I don't recall this but was at the Eat-Fraser Valley Show, I believe in Oct or Nov 2010, at the Tradex in Abbotsford. I'm not sure if I entered a contest or not. I was asked to call back, given a number, 1-800-728-1695 ext. 8307 and to quote an entry number. You people have all know let me know what this about! Thanks for all of your warnings!

- jeffUnlike some of you I was actually smart enough to answer the call and talk to them and see what they were calling about instead of making assumptions. I admit I was skeptical at first but I actually did remember entering a draw for a lexus a couple years ago, It just took me a second to remember. I actually went to their presentation and I made it clear from the beginning that I was NOT interested in buying a time share, the salesman was very nice and professional and did not pressure me at all, after the 90 minutes were up I swiped the card and won a $2500 home Entertainment shopping spree and 2 nights for 1 at an AviaWest resort. My wife and I are planning to use it at the Parkside resort in Victoria. I know there are a lot of scams going on but AviaWest is NOT a scam and I suggest anybody who gets a call from these guys should certainly go to their presentation and check them out, they have a lot of awesome deals and treat people with respect.
