If calls like these continue and/or you are receiving calls from other organizations attempting to market their products to you, all you have to do is ask to be placed on their "Do Not Call List".

    Check it out: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/DNCL/brochure_consumer.htm.

Also, if you're considering a timeshare purchase you should compare Aviawest prices to that of resales. Have a look at Craigslist or UsedVictoria and see the difference in price between Aviawest and resellers. These products are not liquid! You can't even give them away. What happens then when you buy the product and a few years later you no longer believe that it suits your lifestyle? Good luck offloading it. Remember, if you don't use it, you still have to pay maintenance fees and membership dues.

    hi all,
actually it's not that bad. I got a call from them, confirmed the info, made an appt and 10 days later after a boooooooooring 90 minute session of desperate attempts of "mr. I wanna be a salesperson - with a jack lemon mania" the wife and I got a $50 visa gift certificate (which did work without a problem in two different locations) and a free 2 night accomondation at their parkswille bc resort. all you got to do is waitout the session, at the end say that you'll call them (the only way to get rid of a salesrep - as I am one myself) and once you call back not to forget to say that you want to be removed from their call list.
if they're trying to play it smooth you've got to play it smoother, grab the prices and wave goodbye.
    good luck all,

    camo dude.

wow you are sure ignorant, I actually work for AviaWest and we are NOT a scam. We are totally legit and people actually do win the vehicles. I am sick and tired of ignorant [***] like you running your mouth saying that the company that I work for is a scam. We are in good standing with the better business bureau and have been in business since 1991 and just built a 90 million dollar resort in victoria last year so we are the real deal. Get your facts straight before you go giving a good, family owned business a bad name. I should smack you.

AviaWest is NOT a scam, I work for the company. it is 100% legit. People really do win the luxury vehicles and get great prizes just for showing up to the presentations. Anybody who says it is a scam is an ignorant idiot who doesnt have a clue what they are talking about. We are family owned and operated since 1991 and just built a 90 million dollar resort in Victoria last year called Parkside. We have an A++ rating with the better business bureau and we are the largest resort company on vancouver island.

If calls like these continue and/or you are receiving calls from other organizations attempting to market their products to you, all you have to do is ask to be placed on their "Do Not Call List".

    Check it out: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/DNCL/brochure_consumer.htm.

If they call after you've made the request to be placed on their "DNC" list, you can call, write or email the CRTC and report Aviawest at which point a file will be opened (if it hasn't been already) and the company will be subject to investigation by that administrative body. Should complaints continue to arise, Aviawest could be slapped with a substantial fine, publication of their offences and a stern finger wag.

Also, if anyone else out there is considering a timeshare purchase you should compare Aviawest prices to that of resales.

If you REALLY want to purchase a timeshare product and can afford a resale, there are some implications in terms of the services that you would normally be able to enjoy had you purchased the product directly from the company... I wont elaborate, I'll leave that to the timeshare sales associate and closer to explain.

I received a call last night from this number and I did not answer.  I received one  a few years ago too but with another phone number so I don't know how they got my new one.

If they call again I will be telling them I will be placing them on the Do not call List so hopefully they don't call me again after that!

Today I got a message, from that same number, wanting to verify some information on my entry. She said she was from AVOS Resorts Nanaimo. I don't recall this but was at the Eat-Fraser Valley Show, I believe in Oct or Nov 2010, at the Tradex in Abbotsford. I'm not sure if I entered a contest or not.  I was asked to call back, given a number, 1-800-728-1695 ext. 8307 and to quote an entry number. You people have all know let me know what this about! Thanks for all of your warnings!

Unlike some of you I was actually smart enough to answer the call and talk to them and see what they were calling about instead of making assumptions. I admit I was skeptical at first but I actually did remember entering a draw for a lexus a couple years ago, It just took me a second to remember. I actually went to their presentation and I made it clear from the beginning that I was NOT interested in buying a time share, the salesman was very nice and professional and did not pressure me at all, after the 90 minutes were up I swiped the card and won a $2500 home Entertainment shopping spree and 2 nights for 1 at an AviaWest resort. My wife and I are planning to use it at the Parkside resort in Victoria. I know there are a lot of scams going on but AviaWest is NOT a scam and I suggest anybody who gets a call from these guys should certainly go to their presentation and check them out, they have a lot of awesome deals and treat people with respect.

Be very aware of Aviawest Resorts Inc. Their business practices are simply dishonest and full of smoke and mirrors - I personal have been lied too by Aviawest and their cost for the timeshare they sell is outrageous!
Be advised if your desire is to become part of the RCI network; simple Google www.pacific-shores-resales.com and pay 10-20% of what Aviawest Resorts Inc. charges. Not sure how the Pearson Family sleeps at night?? The Pearson’s are simply snake oil salesmen. What comes around goes around.

I received a voice message, addressed to somebody else, about a draw for a 2010 BMW. I thought it was fishy, because I know that Avia West sells timeshares and they wanted the person to call back and "verify their information" with a special reference code. I have won legitimate draw prizes before and have never received a call fishing for information. If this person entered a legit draw, why would they write down MY phone number?
