Be very aware of Aviawest Resorts Inc. Their business practices are simply dishonest and full of smoke and mirrors - I personal have been lied too by Aviawest and their cost for the timeshare they sell is outrageous!
Be advised if your desire is to become part of the RCI network; simple Google www.pacific-shores-resales.com and pay 10-20% of what Aviawest Resorts Inc. charges. Not sure how the Pearson Family sleeps at night?? The Pearson’s are simply snake oil salesmen. What comes around goes around.

I received a voice message, addressed to somebody else, about a draw for a 2010 BMW. I thought it was fishy, because I know that Avia West sells timeshares and they wanted the person to call back and "verify their information" with a special reference code. I have won legitimate draw prizes before and have never received a call fishing for information. If this person entered a legit draw, why would they write down MY phone number?

Already 2 or 3 times I got a call from 250-716-2650 - to my unlisted cell phone - which happens to be a Pay-as-you-go-phone and I have to pay for calls from this scammers when they leave a message on the voice mail + for checking my voice mail - so there was every time a message left from AVIA West -from Patty Cohen..... it was about a BMW 2010, about a draw. I have to say that only 2 people have my cell phone number, it is just for emergencies... she further left a phone number (1-800-728-1695 ext. 8365) Patty Cohen. I phoned after the 2nd or third message the 1800728-1695/8365 Patty Cohen and told her not to phone this number anymore. She said my number would be deleted from their list and before I could hang up she (really!!!) asked me if I would like to join for a draw. I asked her if it is a necessity to be [***] for working at AVIA WEST and if she really understood the reason for my phone call.
These people are so stupid, it must hurt.

These annoying and repulsive Telemarketers just should stop bothering people on the phone. Respect peoples privacy!!!!! I could puke just thinking about these disgusting a**h***s. Nobody wants them.

We very much appreciate the service you offer.

May 5, 2011 1130 AM. Message on our answer machine from 250-716-2650, Aviawest .  They had our correct names and like a lot of the other people stated that we entered a contest  at a store we deal with, for a trip to Hawaii.

It must have been a long time ago because can't remember entering this contest. Thanks to the remarks read on this site we are just going to ignore the call..

May 9 2011 - received a call from this number - asked if they could speak to William, who apparently entered a contest to win a BMW.  I told the young man that this was not possible, as William has been dead for over four years.

I just received a call today from 250.716.2650, stating I had entered a contest to win a car and she was doing some pre-draw contact information confirmation. Her name was Patty and she said to call back 1.800.728.1695 ext. 8316, in Naniamo, BC.

You are right, I have been working for Aviawest for over 10 years.  Just google aviawest, go on Youtube people. Its not a scam, you have technology out there that can help you to do research on any company.

they called and asked for my wife... thing is, it is my work line. refused to leave a message.

i called the number back and asked for a supervisor. told them we are on the federal do not call list and that i was filing a complaint with the commission. the supervisor claimed he would remove my number from the database. I got so sick of these calls i started to compile a list of all telemarketers who call us for a pending lawsuit.

the threat was worth a shot anyways...

I had calls from this number both last and this week to which I requested that I be placed on their "Do Not Call List". Also, I have some knowledge of the timeshare industry and know that it doesn't suit my lifestyle.

If calls like these continue and/or you are receiving calls from other organizations attempting to market their products to you, all you have to do is ask to be placed on their "Do Not Call List".

    Check it out: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/DNCL/brochure_consumer.htm.

Also, if you're considering a timeshare purchase you should compare Aviawest prices to that of resales. Have a look at Craigslist or UsedVictoria and see the difference in price between Aviawest and resellers. These products are not liquid! You can't even give them away. What happens then when you buy the product and a few years later you no longer believe that it suits your lifestyle? Good luck offloading it. Remember, if you don't use it, you still have to pay maintenance fees and membership dues.

Unfortunately aviawest, doesn't "buy"phone number lists like other companies, i used to work there. They do get your name and number from a draw, but you could have entered the draw like 10 years ago, no wonder you don't remember! who could!. But when people say they are on the do not call list, it doesn't matter at that company, becuase they use information you actually give them, and on the back of the ballot it does say they have the right to contact you. The only scammy thing is that you can enter years before, and they keep calling you every year telling you, you have entered a draw for whatever the current draw is for. Next time just say I don't care when I entered stop calling me, they are usually pretty good about getting names out of the system right away. and working htere sure made me NEVER enter a draw agaiN!! Good luck to you guys

Aviawest is a timeshare/resort, they try to get you to go to their 90 min presentation to sell space at there resorts and tell you that you have a chance to win a car or something good.  Your prize at the end is usually a gift certificate to one their resorts so you have to go there to use them.

I just got a phone message saying I might win a Mercedes and he just needs to verify some information.  That's how they get you in.

I have been to one of these presentations.  Unless you want a vacation spot somewhere it's useless to go.

All those calls that everyone gets from Aviawest may be no more.... Rumor has it that the Nanaimo based call center that employs over 50 staff will shut its doors on November 1. I guess it's too bad so sad for those out of work employees, some of which have been there for over 10 years.

Seemingly, the company is moving it's call center operations to downtown Victoria... Last I heard, leasing property in downtown Victoria was more expensive than leasing property in Nanaimo.... I've also heard that companies create call centers all over the map i.e. wherever rent is cheap, technology is available and the workforce is skilled.

All in all, this seems like a curious decision by Aviawest's senior management... Maybe these drastic measures are indicative of something else.... Perhaps there is an elephant in the room.

    Brutal Company!!! replies to noyb
Myself and a few friends had been called to attend a seminar in Burnaby a few weeks back. The agent promised that we all would receive $400.00 worth of free gifts just for attending. I guess we all filled out the ballot at the same time.

When we got there, the office was closed, and there were other people waiting as well. After waiting about 30 mins, the security guard approached us and told us that this happens quite often.

We were extremely angry as like many others there, we traveled a distance and had to find babysitting.

The funny thing is that they even called us in the morning to confirm our appointment.

This company is definitely a scam...so please do yourself a favor and hung-up if they try to con you into something they are trying to sell.
