I just got the call a few minutes ago.  Said his name was Mike Cooper and that I had been turned over to the State Attorney Law Firm in California.  The number that called is 1.323.331.9189.  He also told me he was a paralegal and couldn't answer any questions.  I asked whom he represented and he said "many companies". He did not have a case number or anything for me just the man's name to call back.  Told me to call back and ask for Kevin Peterson that I was being sued.  When I ask him questions and mentioned it was a scam he got sort of nervous but continued with the story.

I had just receive a phone call from 323-331-9189  telling me he's kemmeths webfte or webster attorney (heavy India accent) because he have a lawsuit after me and i need my attorney to contact him ASAP but he didn't answer my question when I ask what was the case about. man i am stress out i can't believe this could ever happen to me never expect someone to use my personal info for their own pleasure.. to be on the safe side i am going to let my attorney look in this case for me

I got this same call at 6am in the morning from a guy stating that he was calling from the State Attorney General in San Franscisco CA. He asked me to call back to ask for Kevin Petterson about criminal charges filed against me stating that I was monitored online using my email address for fraudulent behavior. He was very rude, and hung up on me when I questioned his validity. He called me back and the number said 911. I stated I was going to call the police on him and he hung up.

Received multiple calls on my phone, until finally they called MY BOSS while I was working.  They stated that they were from the State Attorneys Office and wanted to inform me that I had 3 criminal charges in the State of California.  They were able to provide me with my social security number AND address!  I demanded to know what exactly the "charges" were, and he told me that I would have to call in and speak with Kevin Peterson, their attorney.  I am aware that they are a scam having looked up the information, however this has done some damage to my reputation at work, as I cannot get a hold of someone to disprove this information.  I want to file charges against these people, and I'm not going to sit idly by while they continue to scam innocent people repeatedly.  If someone has a good phone # please provide it to me.  They asked myself or my attorney to contact them, and I'm going to do EXACTLY THAT.  I have spoken to my attorney, who told me that they are attempting to "impersonate a government employee" by pretending to be from the Attorneys Office.  He is very eager to pursue criminal actions against them.  PLEASE GIVE ME A GOOD PHONE # IF YOU HAVE ONE!

These people are crazy. They have been calling me for the past week, I never pick up numbers I don't know so I decided to pick up the call and there was an Indian guy with a heavy accent demanding that I make payment or go to jail. So I began to ask questions he hung up. I called back he asked why was I calling back. He told me I better get an attorney because they were filing a suit against me because of fraud. These people need to be put under the jail because people like me who don't do cash advance in any matter are terrified. I'm wondering if someone has stolen my identity?

Confidences have always been sort of a hobby of mine.  I think because the more I know about them, the less likely I can be taken.  The first thing that struck me as odd is that someone from the State attorney's office would have such bad english and would be the person chosen to make calls out, for such a "pressing legal matter".  So as soon as this guy got off the phone with me, I immediately googled info about the State attorney, phone number, etc.  If you know anything about california, 323 is an LA area code, but the capitol (where I would imagine the "state attorney" would be located) is in Sacramento.  What is probably happening is they have paid for a number here locally in California and have redirected that number to them internationally.  Other than killing the number, I don't imagine there will be much anyone the police or federal government will be able to do to these guys.  Your best defense is what most people have done, which is quickly find out more information, do not divulge any of your own info, and do not establish any sort of payment plan or give them anymore information.  When I called back they answered the phone as "Hello" (If you call any state or government agency, they always answer with the title of where you are calling from, which I thought was hilarious.  Man they are really bad at this, but good thing I guess).  Before I introduced myself I simply asked, what is the URL for your website.  The guy got angry and immediately killed the call. No question this is a scam.  A poorly planned out one and I could go on for days on how many mistakes they have made making it obvious.

I got three calls and he called me a liar and asked me how I slept at night knowing I was a criminal, I said I never have and never will take out a payday loan. He said I already had and again called me a liar and I was going to rot in jail! What a joke!

they call all the time right after the last call in a matter of seconds it is ridiculas (sp ck) I am so sick of scam phone calls How do we get rid of them without changing our number?????????

Just got the same call.  Looked up the stat attorney in L.A., different number.  Called L.A. Police they told me to report to BBB.  This is a scam.  He told me about criminal charges and I told him I didn't receive any money he hung up and won't answer the phone.  It is a landline in L.A. so call the BBB at (909)825-7280 and report it.

I received a call from the same number. Telling me that I am going to be charged with theft for the money. I got and didn't pay back and I never had the money to begin with or did I apply for it. I don't even have a job. But some how they had all my information and the county I lived in. And told me that an officer would be comen to arrest me for the charges . Somebody needs to put a stop to that it's crazy.

i got a call today at work and at home from 3233319189 telling me that i needed to contact my attorney and either my attorney or I needed to call Tom Peterson back today or all he could say was he wishes me luck as all this unfolds on me.never once did this person tell me who they were with or what the call was about he had a very heavy accent and had to listen to the message several times to understand it  I tried to call the number back several times, a few times it rang busy or it just rang 11 times and then gave me a message that the person i was trying to call was unavailable at this time and my call would be disconnected but i never got a human on the other end.

Got a call 2 days in a row from a woman with a heavy indian accent stating i was being sue for fraud, deception, and thief she said she was calling from the Law office of Jessica Young.  Said i need to call this number back to settle for 5800 or if i paid today they would settle for 1200...asked if i had a attorney and have the attorney call this number...i'm so glad i researched this before talking any further with these people...Chris is the person i talked to because Kevin Petersen wasn't available.  amazing people can do this and get away with it.

I did get a payday loan but they cant arrest u for a not paying something back. they send u to collections first off. i have been paying mine. i was freaking out i didnt understand why the attorneys office would call me since its not that high up !!!  they when i tried the number for this kevin petterson it was not even the right number. i tried the number that called me back and no answer. this is scary !! for someone to have my info wow .

I just received a call stating that i had criminal charges against me I asked him what they were and he told me that I had to call the attorney.  I said BS  you need to have the attorney call me.  And if you continue to harrass me I will call the police on you.  He to had broken english.

From what I read previously , these guys are back at it as I got the same call today and tried the #  which is the same # he called on? Kevin Peterson is the attorney. The caller says he's calling from the State's Attorney office, which leads you to believe that they're from the Stat of California telling you there are criminal charges against you. So if you ever took out a payday loan and paid it onr not then they have that record. They even had my home# which is non pub but I did recently do a loan online so they're stealing that info. This has to be illegal and wonder where to call to report this ?

I have gotten several calls at work and home. Tonight I was threatened by a man that introduced himself as an attorney for CashAdvance and his name was Kenneth Webster. He said I had 45 minutes to go to Hannafords and get a prepaid Visa card for $600 and call him or I would be arrested at my job. Who can we get involved in this as it is very stressing and I am being harrassed?
