401-401-4010

I just got this call for the first time today!  Call came in at 11:33 AM EST from 401-401-4010 and I just had to look this up and here is this amazing thread about this very number!!  For tracking...I live in Southern Pennsylvania...let the tracking continue!  It was a very scratchy line and was a female voice that I could not hear very well at all...EEEK!!!

I live in Pittsburgh and just got a call from this number about three minutes ago.  The man on the other end sounded like he was calkling from India and said that he was doing a survey for my "community" about fire safety.  Asked if we had a smoke alarm, a fire extinguisher and if I was the homeowner or a renter.

We're also on the Do Not Call list.  So much for that!

I got a call from this # at about 9:00 am today.  My answering machine picked up, but the female voice kept saying, hello? hello? hello?, then hung up.

just gat a call from this number   asking me if I have a  fire alarm in the house   knew my name   tried to call it back and said can not be completed as dialed

I receive calls from this number several times. I do not appreciate these calls. Please identify the callers I am on the no call list, but continue to get these very annoying calls. They can be dangerous when you run or hurry to answer only to find no one. I picked up on one of the calls to see who or what they wanted. To no avail, there was no one there.

Got a call from this number today, November 3, 2009 at 4:30pm.  The lady on the other end had a thick foreign accent and talked really fast, before I could interrupt her and hang up she asked me "do you have smoke detectors installed in your home" i answered "yes, I'm not a moron" and then I hung up

Same as everyone else didnt answer since we have caller id and do not answer for numbers we do not know. 5:26pm Nov. 3, Rhode Island, 1-401-401-4010, and since we have VM if it is important or viable we expect a message to be left, there was not message left, hang up or otherwise.

Just got the call from 401-401-4010 Nov 3rd @ 8:33 and it was defin a hang up.. after I answered. I think they are preying on the elderly when someone of a signifigant age answers, but funny i didnt reverse look-up.. i googled it

My wife,Carol, answered the phone tonight, Tuesday, November 3rd 2009 about 9:30 pm, and the woman caller asked about if we had a fire alarm system. Carol asked who was calling, but the woman kept yacking about a fire alarm alert system.  My wife told her we were on the "Do Not Call List" (which we are) and to take this number off of her list and not to call again.  The calledr then strongly replied,  "I'll check to see if you are and if you are not, I'm going to call you back!"  Carol said, "You better not."

Ok, I just got a call from this number at 11:41 AM on November 4TH. I did not answer for it said on caller ID "401-4010".  When the answering machine picked up, during the middle of the recorder message I heard a "Hello?" and then they hung up.

I received a call on my home phone from this number (401-401-4010). I didn't answer when I saw the caller was from Rhode Island. However, when I called the number from my cell phone, the message said the number was no longer in service. Ummm... Who disconnects in 2 mins. Such a SCAM LINE!!!

I just received a call from this number at 5:21 pm EST.  Caller ID stated Unknown Call RI.  Googled and found this site.

I received a call from 401-401-4010, on November 4, 2009, at almost 9:00 pm. The woman asked if I had smoke detectors in the house, and wanted to know when I changed the batteries. There was a lot of background noise, I claimed that I could not hear her, and could not understand her foreign accent. She continued with the same questions only louder. Once again, I made the same claims, and she continued on. After my third claim, of not hearing or understanding her I hung up.

I got a call from this number yesterday.  One of my kids answered and handed me the phone because my child couldn't make out what the caller was saying.  He had an heavy accent.  So I took the phone and he kept saying his name was Mark and he was calling as a community service and wanted to know if I had smoke detectors.  I asked on whose behalf was he calling and he kept saying something that sounded like "electronic".  I made him repeat it a couple of times and I still was not sure what company it was, but he kept pressuring me to tell him if we had smoke detectors!!

I told him we do not share info like that with anyone and he kept pushing, so I hung up.  I wonder if they are trying to get you to say yes, then they can claim you agreed to something because they have your voice saying yes.  I had to *69 it because we don't have caller ID.  Very odd.

Got a call last night.  Did not answer. Since there are so many other posting this must be telemarketing (although I am listed on the do not call list).

Yep, I just got a call from this spoofed number, too. It came in at 12:37pm EST. I let it go to voicemail and the caller did not leave a message.

Just got a call. I didn't pick up. Glad now I did not. I'm also on the do not call list.

Just called at 9:18pm, my husband yelled into the phone asking them why the "F" they would call at this hour. Well, they got an earfull.

Recieved the same call in TN at 12.25pm Nov 6. The person first stated that it was not a marketing call and asked if we have smoke detectors. I answered yes. Then he asked me if we test them regularly. I got suspicious and asked him what this call was regarding. At that point he hung up. Very strange! Dont know what to make of it.

Just got 2 calls from this number.  After a long pause, the forgeign sounding called told me her was calling from GE and GE had just authorized him to offer me ...... I hung up and got the same call two minutes later.
