401-401-4010

This is the 3rd time number 401-401-4010 has called me.  First time they called (11/25/09 they immediately began by asking questions about my smoke alarm (how often did I change the battery etc)  I told them my alarm system was hardwired and told them not to call again.

2nd call went to answering maching and they left no message.

3rd call was the same as the first call but I told them I was living in an assisted living facility and had no control over the smoke detectors.

I think I will take Cheryl's advice and notify the FTC since my number is already on the do-not-call list and this company (Metronomics) is in violation.  Hopefully we can win a class action against the company and get some $$ sent our way!

I keep getting calls from this number too, abd as some of you, I checked the number on the internet with no satisfaction as to who is calling, so little miss noisy me called it back and some hispanic sounding woman answer, lot'sa noise in the background and when I didn't say anything to her "hello" she hung up.

Call was from "Monitronix." He asked if we had a working smoke detector. I said yes. He asked if we regularly check the batteries. Yes. He said it was not a sales call, but was taking a survey. He asked out of fire, medical, or burglary which one I was most concerned about.
Call on Nov 26, at 7:45pm CST....on Thanksgiving night!
They had called several times before so that's why I answered so I can tell them to take me off their call list.

I didn't answer, but the number was so particularly odd that I had to look it up.

Just thought I'd report the call.

I get calls from this number regularly.  It's always the same stuttering, male, third-world pos calling.  The number is obviously spoofed.  Let's hope a pandemic sweeps across India real soon.

I got the call from that RI number, on caller ID as "unknown call", which in itself is strange, usually says unknown name,,,I answered it,,they said, in an Indian accent, hello, hello, hello,,after I had already said hello, two times,,,so, when they started their spiel, from some company,, I just continued to say,,hello,,,hello? hello,,,she stopped and said,,,you understand (excuse this, I am using the initials) FU, you understand FU? and repeated it a few times,,I hung up,,I wish I knew if this was a company, and the parent company,,wouldnt they love to hear how their "employees"? talk,,

got called at 645 pm  answered and asked about smoke detectors. hung up  multiple calls all week

I didn't answer, but I heard them hang up on my answering machine.

i can't believe i'm doing this but i'm adding to the collection of those who've received calls from 401-401-4010. Anyway, got the call a few minutes ago and I didn't answer.  Didn't care to.  But I did care to look it up on the internet and found this site.  My brother, Darryl, told me to write this.  My other brother, Darryl, told me not to.  I listened to Darryl's advice about something else awhile back so I took Darryl's advice this time.

I also got a call from this number, was a woman who told me she is not selling anything and asked me if we had an alarm system at home, I told her not and hanged up the phone. I worried too much thinking about the phone call and I decided to check it on the internet. Is anybody who received these calls victims of theft at home?

Well here is one more to the collection. I am also on the DNC and reported this to FTC. 07 11 09 at 1245pm est I get the 401 401 4010 call from DSR ALARMS according to the scrip reader. Do the WT_ I am on the DNC why are you calling me routine and get the hang up. Now I am pissed and do the caller ID check and it is MY OWN PHONE NUMBER with the 401 401 4010 below it. How the HE__ can they do THIS. Next time I will do the HELLO HELLO HELLO on them.

Received call trying to get information about our security system.  The guy on the phone claimed to be our security company but had all of our information wrong & was trying to get us to give him our correct info.  Scam for sure but not sure what they were after.

I keep getting these calls.   Uusually a person with a heavy accent and the call appears to be a satellite call judging by the delay - maybe a call center in India or Southeast Asia.   The caller says they are with Monitronics and that it is a survey that I "MUST" respond to.   I explain that I do not have to respond and that I am on the "do not call list" so they need to remove my number from their database.   They always refuse and since I will pursue a supervisor and refuse to answer their survey questions they hang up and then call back - to the same reception.   I've left feedback on the Monitronics website.

Just  received another call from these people!  I hope they enjoy the fax noise in there ear, I have the computer set up to receive these types of calls.  That way the phone only rings one time and that is that!  You would think they would get the idea after the 5 or 6 time they have called and got the fax noise!

Shaun with a deep voice that sounded like he was from India called me tonight 7 dec at 7.45 pm.  He asked me if I had smoke detectors" "YES" or "NO".

I said Shaun you are lying about your name "YES" or "NO"... click he hung up

Called my home today and my wife answered. Guy said he was doing a servey on home security. Asked about smoke alarms and one other thing and then on the third question (like maggie above 11/30) he said my wife should choose answer 3. y wife thought it weird that they were leading surveyee and told him she didn't have time for this and hung up. The guy called back and started threatening my wife including that he was going to shoot her and her family! My wife hung up and the guy called again and left a threatening message on my answering machine! My wife called the police and the police came. The guy called back and talked to the police and made the same threats...probably thought the cop was me. Cop said it was a "spoof" number and that the guy could be anywhere and they could not do anything. They had just got done responding to someone else locally for the same thing, thought it was the same guy! I have not heard the messages yet but will when I get home. Strange thing is he knew my wife and my first name. Any suggestions?

its 6:40 Pm .. Just got a call from 401-401-4010 .. I did not answer. No message left.. Who is This ???
