Same here, called me in Coquitlam BC this morning. Same scam as the others.

Got the same call yesterday evening.

Had a call on my cell phone and my cell phone is on the do not call list.

Same thing only 7-8 times a day including Christmas and New Years.  They kept calling even after my husband identified himself as a detective... This has been ongoing harassment for 2 weeks now.

Guy with and Indian accent stating that I had won a $500.00 gift card and a $200.00 gas card and you only have to pay $1.95 for shipping. However, you have to provide an active card number or a bank account number for them to provide to UPS. He called me back 3 times stating that  the lines had technical difficulties, 1 number was an unknown. I called Walmart and they stated that they are not offering suc a promotion and to report the number as a scam.

Same stuff here, indian woman telling me they have discovered my computer is sending tojans and what not info to them. I had heard about this so I started talking. Which computer? I have several. The one with windows she said. Then she offered to scan my pc. I told her I would not let her scan my PC. She said a few other things then I heard a males voice in the background and the line went dead.

I get these calls at least 3 days a week,I mess with the guy all the time I'm surprised he continues to call so today he called and I asked him his name ,mind you he has a heavy accent from india I'm guessing, so he said his name was Dan Parker..haha I was like really,are you sure that's your name,so then I ask him where is calling from he tells me London and I said are you sure..haha then I asked him what his phone number was and I have it on caller I'd, but wanted to see if he was gonna hang up again and of course he did. So, Dan Parker I am calling my phone company today because I'm tired of playing.. This crap is getting stupid,it needs to be stopped.

Called us 3 times today and many times in the past.  Today we called back the number and FTC answered and that they know about this number. They are phishing. Do not give them information!

just got one of these calls as well. my mother was really confused as they grilled her about error messages. when she handed the phone over to me, they hung up immediately.

in the process of the call, my mom said he kept repeating the same speel, even though she couldn't understand him.

MICROSOFT WILL NEVER CALL YOU UNLESS YOU CALL THEM.

Canadian -  i just got a call from this number... again.  I pur a 1 in front of it and phoned back, got a recorded message claiming to be someone from the federal trade commission, explaining that I am dialing this number because I likely got an email from someone I likely do business with, that are doinga phising scan, where scammers commit fraud and identity theft.  They refer anyone who dials this number to a website... onguardonline.gov

this number rings me 6-8 times / day.  How can I stop them?????

Just got a call from a guy with a heavy Indian accent, saying he was with MicroSoft technical support.  I stopped him right there and asked if he really believed people are that f'ing stupid.  Then I told him to make damned sure he took my number off his list, to never call me again and to find an honest job.
**This is one of those times that I wish I could send a bolt of electricity through the phone lines to fry this moron.**

I then called the number listed on the caller ID as Bellevue, WA (obviously faked) and was very surprised to hear a recording from the federal government's online fraud department, explaining that the call I'd received was a phishing scam.  The recording referred me to http://www.onguardonline.gov for information on phishing scams.

If you call this number, you will be connected to the FTC who is intercepting the incoming call with a recorded message offering limited information about this phishing scam and how to protect yourself. Good advice. Common sense should tell consumers that a telemarketer couldn't possibly have any idea about the status of someone's computer security, unless it was a 3rd party service who was contacted by the computer owner for assistance. Why would a consumer even engage with one of these callers? They can barely speak English and the little they say that's decipherable doesn't even make sense. So any dope who  falls for this to the degree that they actually give their credit card number over the phone deserves to get ripped off. Hello???

A female with an East Indian accent called and asked if I like my new computer. I told her I didn't have a new computer so I could end the call. She said "oh sorry" and hung up! She said she was calling from Dell.

My mother in law lives in an a wealthy area in Florida - she got a disturbing call from an indian guy saying her computer was acting up and that he could fix it.

She lives alone and she's very frightened.

Please stop these "JERKS".

Received call from number. Man with heavy accent, saying my computer was sending them error messages and that my computer was infected with viruses/corrupt.  I asked how they could have possibly gotten my number as it is not registered with ANY computer.  He kept telling me from the "international routing system."  WHAT??  I tried to get additional information to report them (but sounds like it makes no difference).  I asked for a number to call them back, since "I didn't have time" to let them access my computer (jerks!!!!) they put me on hold for a few minutes and gave me the number: 530-504-9270.  They were very persistent with the conversation that lasted 9 minutes until I finally hung up.

well, I hope those of us who called the # back didn't make a mistake, why would that # still be in use and how does the FTC manage to put a recording on it when you call back?
I got the indian guy with the heavy accent, but he asked for a Mr Smith, sorry, wrong #.

These people keep calling me from 425-998-1533 Bellevue WA. They say that they are Microsoft Techs stating that they are receiving messages from my PC that it is about to crash. I asked them to email me the information. They hang up.

Received a call from this phone number on January 4, 2012 at 1:02 PM. No message left.

got called.. windows service center..  i didn't fall for it. After screwing them around for 15 min I said oh.. am i supposed to turn my computer on?

then I said the power is off.. and hung up.
