- AT32I received a call from this number on my work phone and it was the same story..."they are Microsoft Techs and have been receiving error messages from my PC for some time.. blah, blah" Once I told him I find it hard to believe that my work computer was sending them messages instead of our inhouse IT department, he hung up. What a joke! these scammers are getting desperate!
- Sol| 1 replyI received a call from this number. A man with a very heavy indian accent told me he was from Microsoft and they were receiving error messages from my computer and I probably had a virus or malware or something. I told him to take my number off his phone list because I don't make any deals or enter anything that requires info from me by phone. I called the number and I got a message from the Federal Trade Commission identifying the call as a scam.
Beware and never give out any information or follow any directions from anybody over the phone, specially if it involves your computer.- Caller: unknown
- me too replies to SolFirst I hung up on him then he called me back! He sounded angry and demanded why I hung up on him. I let him keep ging through his computer pitch over and over.... "what? I can't understand you." LOL!
- JUST MEIve engaged with these people just for fun and if you don't do what they ask they become mean, aggressive and pushy. I am not able to answer any calls that aren't identified because I get these call all the time but with different numbers. I have clients that call but I won't answer because they aren't id'd as someone I know. Everything has to go to voice mail first. I hate them for thinking that I am so stupid that I would do what they ask. They are ridiculous.
- debbishThey called my 80 year old mom to tell her that her computer was about to crash. Man w/ heavy accent. Only problem....she's never had a computer. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was in Florida
- ConcernedI just received a call from this number, 425-998-1533. The man said his name was Steve and he had a thick Hindi accent. I could here other people in the background talking. He said that he was with Microsoft and that they had been receiving messages from my computer indicating that the hard drive was going to crash soon.I tried to get him to give me his number to call him back but he would not give it to me. He tried to get me to turn my computer on, so that he could show me the malicious infections that I had. I asked him which computer he was talking about as we have more than one. He said the one that you use the internet most with. We use the internet with all of them. Then he said the one with XP. I said, when was the last time you got a message, and he said 2010. That computer died in April of 2011, and this is why I know he was trying to scam and get my IP address, probably so he could infect my computer! I will be contacting Microsoft to let them know about this, too.

- libd38Got a call from this number this afternoon. A woman with an Indian accent answered and said she was calling in regards to my computer problem, and believed I have a Microsoft Vista or Windows 7. There was noise of other people in the background. I have Windows XP, so I knew it was a scam. I blew into the receiver and there was a pause and then she blew right back, so I hung up.

- Yakster XGot a call from this guy, openning with knowing my name and saying
Maa Salam Aleikum" which means sort of hello in arabic... Then he said he is from Microsoft lolz. Yeah Microsoft will let an employee grats you in arabic like that mmhmm. Anyways yeah same [***] with the windows haha. He didnt even say anything only that I must open a windows folder yada yada.
Told hi I am jewish by the way from Israel, and greeted him back in hebrew and arabic XD
Then said yeah whatever you are from bugrosoft, dont call here again or ill trace you and shut you down. Then hung up.
People are really stupied. Usually Microsoft (or any company on that matter) doesnt call unless its a follow up from a ticket that you already opened with them. So dont fall for scams. Specially if you are being greeted in any different language then english because that is the considered to be very rude. - AnuI got a call form this number from a heavily accented guy who claimed to be from India. he told me that he was recieving multiple messages from my computer and that my computer was infected when my McCafee Anti-Virus was showing me that everything was perfect on my PC. I told him taht but he insisted that I open the computer management console. He asked me to go to Windows Logs --> Application and asked me to look for all errors. He asked me the number of errors. I told him there were more than 100 errors. He was like "Oh my god your computer is going to crash". Then me had me type "inf virus" on the run window. The windows explorer came up with some setup files that had .inf extension. There were .pnf extension files too. He said those were corrupted with Virus, which is not true because I knew that those are precompiled setup files the windows system uses to run programs. When he realised that way too much about a computer he just hung up. So please do not entertain any such calls.

- No dummyThis guy tried to get a small fee from me; he thought he was dealing with some dummy.. He hung up when I told him I would not pay him one cent to update my virus warranty I could go on line and download virus protection for free. TOTAL Scum Bag!!
- LikaCall came from 425-998-1533 and was an Asian sounding man said he was from Microsoft Operating Systems and that someone had my IP address and is trying to hack into my computer. He said that he would help me protect my computer from getting hacked. I knew it sounded "fishy" and told him so and hung up. He called me right back and insisted he was who he said he was and that my computer was in danger of being hacked. I told him I was in my vehicle and couldn't get to my computer. He asked if he could call back today and I stated that yes, he could talk to my husband who is a computer tech. We'll see if he calls back today. I sure hope he does because I will be ready for him this time.

- ScamBlockerI just got a call from this same number. Now they are claiming they are calling from Wal-Mart Shopping Center. How dumb! The main shopping center, the Indian accented guy said, was in Benton Arkansas and that I had been randomly selected out of 100 people for a $100 gift from Wal-Mart. I asked him where he was calling from and he said from Benton Arkansas and gave me some address that I could not understand. I asked to speak to a supervisor who gave me the same canned boiler plate answers. I asked her why she was calling from a Washington State telephone number if she was actually in Arkansas. She couldn't answer me. It's obviously a scam.
- Caller: would not identify the real company
