I got the call this morning re: same phishing scam.

The guy said he was from an online maintenance company for Windows and was calling as he thought there was a problem with my computer! He sounded quite surprised and said goodbye when I told him I didn't have a computer!

See if they call again............

I got a call from this number, too yesterday. I live in Ontario, Canada. Said he was calling about messages being sent to his office headquarters about errors my computer was having.He wanted me to open my computer for him and type in "windows online care (no spaces).com When I hesitated, he said "See, your computer is running slow.  I will fix it for you." I hung up after several questions to him he could not answer but kept saying he was there to help me.  He even had the nerve to call back but I did not answer.

I had so much fun yesterday with some Internet Scam Artist!

They called to tell me my computer was ggoing to blow up ;-) So I was in a slightly altered state and played along. They first explain how urgent it is that I start up my computer ... I figure I need some time on the news sites so ok I do it. Then I act like my comp is acting crazy and accuse them very loudly that I will pay anything just give me the POWHAAAA! Ricardo tells me its ok they can walk me thru each step!

I go with it and fudge cmd lines and when I do get it up I get all excited and then they do too and I accidently shut down the window or something. next I pretend to get a call on my cell phone from my wife and shes mad, so I hand the phone to Aidan my 6 yr old and ask him to describe his nurf gun and what he's been shooting at, allthewhile going on in an imaginary conversation with Amy. I then listen to the phone and the guy is translating to someone else in the background, the poor guy was whinning to get me back on the phone "Little angel, little angel can please you put your papa on de phone!?!"

Then I got back on and told him my wife called our security team who handles our estates network and they are back tracking the call and the www.logmein123.com link I kept connecting too (then break it 2-3 sec afterwards ;-) )

then I yell into the phone "I can't take it anymore!" and describe the fetal position I'm in at that moment ... then I stop and with a clear voice say "Oops gotta poop!" then go in and drop big poors of water into the toilet while making obscene bathroom groans. I hold the phone to the throne as I flushed it doing my best jerky boys voice commenting on how much my ass hurt then.

I like to do the same thing.  Let him go on for a bit as though he knew what my computer was doing, then pointed out I have an Apple without MS products on it, called him out as a liar, and hung up.

We have had them calling us for thae last month or so.  Usually there is no one that comes on the line... Or maybe I hang up the phone before they can talk.  They will not leave a message on voice mail and today I talked to a guy with a heavy accent. I told him I could not get to the computer and for him to tell me how do complete the action and I would take care of it myself later on on the day.  He said it was to long a process and he had to be on the phone with me on the computer.  Told him I was not interested and I hung up the phone.  Will they ever stop callin g?

Heavy accent called my number five times over a two day period claiming errors in my Windows account. Call the number to hear the FTC announcement. This is a phishing call. Do not volunteer information.

My wife received a phone call from a person at 425-998-1533 and told her that there was a problem with our computer XP and they need permission to access it and she told them that she didn’t understand anything about computers and could they give a business name, number and name of person to have him contact they gave a name of Techno Cura support at 302-261-5402 and her name was Sandra. I called the number back at 5:20 PM Eastern time and a person answered saying they were Johnny and he would like to help me with a problem with my Micro Soft because there is a problem with my computer, I told him I had a Mac and he said there was a mistake because it showed that I had Micro soft and than he could not help me and I hung up and looked the 425-998-1533 and also the 302-261-5402 this is the info. Heavy indian accent called regarding computer error and I told him I don't have a computer and he hung up!

This number called me today. I didn't answer as I don't know anyone with that area code. (I live in Canada).

Just got a call from this number. Woman with heavy Indian accent telling me they have reports that my computer was sending out viruses etc.... She was almost speechless when I told her that I didn't own a computer and that no one in my house has a computer... of course I was lying through my teeth but I figured if they can do it, so can i!  Listening to her trying to backpedal before hanging up was priceless!

same here i was just called and a man with an asian accent told me they had received reports that my computer was downloading malware and told me turn on my computer i told him that i was going to throw it away or break it because i dont need it anymore and he said NOOOO DONT YU NEED COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i said call bakc later sure enough they did but i din't answer

I live in Sweden, Europe.

Last week, I noticed that I had a number of missed calls from an international telephone number. Yesterday, I answered and this indian accent guy wants to talk about the state of my windows computer. Before he got to the point (whatever that would be) I just said to him that I no longer run Windows but that I have switched to Linux (which I have for the most part). He then thanked me and wished me good computer health before hanging up. Fine, no more calls from them? Bah! I got a call later that night when I had just gone to sleep! But now it was just silence on the line. Today, I noticed two more missed calls registered on my caller ID. How can I get rid of this?!

I have received 2 calls now. I don't answer calls from people I don't know. They didn't speak to my answering machine.  The Caller ID came up as Bellevue WA. I don't know anyone in Washington.

Got a call from this number before 8 a.m. this morning. Glad my ringer was off. I would not have answered it anyway and happy this blog is in place. If you're unsure about a long distance call, DON'T ANSWER IT!!

HAHAHAHAHA - Mad Props to ALL OF YOU who phish them back on the line. I'm about to set up a garbage PC on the network so I can string these f*ckheads along even more and then give them fake CC #'s saying it's real .. oh wait, no, I got a digit wrong and keep repeating until they hang up.

The heavily accented man said he was calling from Microsoft about malicious software on my computer.  It took me getting him to repeat himself numerous times to understand what he was saying.  I asked him where he was calling from and he said Switzerland.  I gave him a hard time about his scam and told him never to call again and he said he was going to call me 100 times and then proceeded to call me an a$$hole and a mother f@%&er over and over again.

I LOVE IT!!! i haven't been fortunate enough to have recieved any calls from them, but will definately keep the different characters in mind if they ever do!!
