I just got a call from a woman, heavy accent, and talked and talked and talked. She wanted me to log on my puter. I told her I did not have time to mess with it and hung up. It's a scam.

This caller has attempted to get information by calling our home number. This is a scam artist and has called in the past.  The funny thing is, I said, "Are you crazy? NOBODY calls your home number for random infomation about your computer!  Call the Police or report scam to this website for display!

Heavily accented called ..not from Microsoft but something starting with Tech... kept insisting I get in front of my computer for him.. Very hard to understand and insistant. Finally hung up on him when he couldn't explain what he was really calling for...

This scam got my girlfriend. They asked her to give them her credit card info, promising over and over not to charge it. The second that she finished the last sentence, they charged it. Luckily she cancelled the payment in time. Is there a way to go after these people?

Same thing as the other posts-the caller would not say who he worked for or how he got my number. Very disturbing.

I recognized the scam,and got in a heated discussion with an Asian man.Same microsoft bull-crap.These yahoos think they're really something.I told them to stop calling me,(the forth time)it got ugly.I hung up and he called me back and started talking abusively dirty,him and his friend were really hooting it up.Hope they get busted,because believe me,we're working on it.What a couple of time wasting fools.

Calling a cell phone number for a solicitation  (without express consent) is a violation of the Telephone Sales Rule.  I only got a voice mail and a hang up upon answering which is another violation of the TSR.  If they call me again, I'll play along to get enough information and then inform them I'm filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

They call saying that my computer is very infected. I just  hung up on them.

got a call from this number this morning saying they were from technical department and my computer was having problems etc

1/11/2012 - Caller ID showed:  Unassigned.  I have noticed that my phone company is providing interesting names such as:  Dummie Courses, Unassigned, Scam.  They hung up at the end of my voice mail message.

Have been receiving calls from this number on a daily basis, often several times a day, from Bellvue,Wa. I don't have any family, friends or business with anyone in Washington and they never leave a message on the voice mail.  I'm glad to have read all the previous posts about this number. Now I know I will never answer them. It does make me wonder just how good that "Do Not Call" list is,though.

Received a call again from this number.  had trouble understanding what the person was saying.
Asked him what company he was calling from, Lexus Nexus or something.
Told me there was a problem with my PC.  I asked how he came to this information.  Could not answer.
Asked if there was a do not call list.  He hung up.
Scammers and phishers are my guess.

Received a call from a woman with a heavy accent telling me there are problems with Microsoft Windows.  Half the problem I had is that I could not understand her through her accent.  She was asking me to log into my computer, only I was at work.

Just got the same call.  Claim they are from Windows and that they are trying to rectify a problem on my computer since they are seeing error messages from my computer.  I asked to give me a phone number and location/city they were calling from.  They had poor English and has strong accents.  They hung up.

Just got the call in WI.
Said she was calling about Windows on my computer.
I asked her what kind of computer.
She with a thick India voice, said my computer was about to crash!!
I asked her what one and why was she calling.
She said you have a computer store??
I asked again who she was and why she was calling.
She then hung up, no answer.
Sounded like a scam to me from the first word.

Same scam as everyone else is reporting, but to my cell phone! I use the blacklist app and can see that they are still calling. Also, they have called from 2 other #s. If they call again I will let them talk a bit, tell them to hold on while i answer the front door, and see how long they wait. Waste enough of their time and they will stop.

Been getting calls from this number, also automated calls via Skype. I finally answered today and yes, basically the same thing... they tell me that I something about my Microsoft programs is allowing some sort of virus in my computer. When I told him that I was going to call MS myself directly to inquire he wouldn't even let me talk. Interesting thing was he said the company was based in Brooklyn, NY, while the caller id showed Bellevue, WA.

These people have been calling me for weeks now. I would never answer a call from Bellevue, Washington, because there's nobody there that I know. However, this evening after reading some of the comments above, I actually has some spare time so I answered the call. The initial pitch was like others have experience, mention of security and Microsoft, etc. It was an Indian, of course, who had trouble with the language and clearly reading badly from a screen or card. I pretended to follow all his instructions and strung him along for 30 minutes, saying how concerned I was about the viruses I had and other such comments to keep his attention. He got me to check the Event Viewer and read him some of the warning messages, that I knew were innocuous. Then he told me that the messages meant that my computer was badly infected. He asked me how old it was and I said, "Two years old." He asked where I got it from and I told him I built it myself because I'm a computer technician. You should have heard him at that point! I thought he was going to choke! He said "What????" and then I said, "And everything you told me in the past half hour is f****** bull**** and don't call me again!" I'm not sure if he was still on the phone by the time I got that sentence out, but I think maybe he'd cut the call. I'm sure to get more calls and I'll do my best to find a little time to screw with them again. This is fun!!!

been getting this call for several days... i answered the phone and they said the usual..."my computer has a problem"

I said I don't have a computer

he said "you don't have a computer"

I said "that's right, i don't have a computer"

he hung up

Got the call at 9 at night in Hawaii, Thick Indian accent. I didn't give him a chance to talk.I said it was late and not to call back. Typed in the number and got this post. Notified my facebook friends that another illegal scheme is going around.
