- KellyBack in June of 2011, I fell for the "Microsoft tech' scam and purchased a "lifetime" tech contract for $399.00. Their website "24sevenMyPChelp.com" looks completely legitimate. Didn't realize it was a scam until I got a call in December saying they were closing down and wanted to refund the $399.00 and wanted me to process information thru Western Union so the money could go directly into my checking account. I realized partway through that something wasn't right and hung up on the guy. I did file a complaint with the FTC but at that time i didn't have the incoming phone number. Since then I have received 4 more calls, mainly from "Henry" with the same "we want to give the $399.00 back to you". The call today was from 425-998-1533 and I hung up on him.

- EmleyMoorThey called my number today while I was in the middle of a medical consultation - so it triggered as a waiting call and continued to ring my other phones - my system allows for this. They got put through to voicemail and left no number. Definitely failed to have their country code in the caller ID as well - there is no such country as 425 so it must be a badly presented American number. Now that I know who they are, they will be blacklisted...

- LisaThey just called me in Sweden too, same scenario as above. I hung up!.

- Olga| 1 replyHi,
I received call from this #. The man with heavy indian accent said that he is calling from Microsoft and my computer is having problems. He asked me to turn on my comp. I realized that it was scam and aswered that I have no problems with computer and if I do, I will fix myself. Then hung up.
Phone is not coming from WA state. The phone is coming from India. People, you have to understand that ALL phones read ten last numbers only from incoming phone call. You will never see 011-... (international access code) in front of number. - LindaThese people are terribly annoying! They have been calling me on my home phone number for 2 weeks usually during the week at first and want me to log into my computer etc. etc. When I told them that I could not log in during office hours and they would have to call me back in the evening. So now they are calling at all times of the day and night! Mostly still during office hours but also at times that I am not able to take a call. On top of which I can't understand most of them because of their accents!
- EmleyMoor replies to OlgaI beg to differ a little - in the UK, BT do not pass on the ID, setting the name to "INTERNATIONAL" - and VoIPtalk do put 00 + country code, if presented - but there was no "1" on the number sent with this call. Genuine US calls do show "001" at the beginning on my phone system. However, in other countries and with other providers, it may indeed be different.
- DanGot the message, a thick indian accented man who told me something was wrong with my computer and he was with Microsoft. Was extremely suspicious as I had no problems with my computer (thanks to avast!). He eventually handed over the phone to his "supervisor". At this point, I was still skeptic since I still had caught some viruses and malware the other day. So I just turned on the speaker on my cellphone, and just listened to this other "indian" woman without saying a word. She kept chiming "Hello?" until she stopped her accent and said in a little child-like voice "You don't like my voice?" Then I burst out laughing and she hung up on me.

- annonymous!These little [***] are making India's reputation bad.

Then he was threatening me that he has already used my debit card for some $4K on some porno site.
The guy told about a some site shib.com or something like that.

- meHJust got a call. It is 10:45 pm my time, usually I am in bed at this time, not happy will be looking to see if my phone company has some system to block numbers, it does show on my tv as an international call -- you could always try using a whistle, make sure it is them on the line, take a deep breath and BLOW !!, it might stop them from bugging you for a while
- RMGot the same heavily accented male when I finally answered a call after receiving one every night for the last week. I knew this had to be a scam because they never left a message on our phone (we screen all calls) and they called around the same time each evening. I told them not to call again and hung up; when they called the next night, my husband told them F*** You. Maybe that will do the trick, but these guys are nothing if not persistent.

- BillI have had two calls from these people claiming to be in Bellvue, Washington. The lady had a very strong Chinese or Korean accent and claimed that my computer was spamming.....when I questioned her closely, she hung-up the phone. I wish the FBI would find these damned crooks and throw them in jail for fifty years...they are a danger to society. Beware of this scam as they are attempting to steal financial and personal information.

- PhotonMark| 1 replyGot the same call on my home phone, 425-998-1533 Very crude language skills, some Asian language.
Asks me if I'm running Microsoft, having popup errors, to send to M.S. I told him that I had done a scan the night before,(I did, with Nod32,Eset) no popup windows. He said it wasn't a virus. I told him I would wipe my hard drive and re-install O.S. he said that wouldn't work and I should go to my comp. and he would guide me etc. By that time although I was having fun, it was annoying working through his 'brogue' so I had to end the scam.- Caller: Asian Scam Inc.
- PhotonMark replies to PhotonMarkSo alright, the consensus is that it is an Indian accent. I should have payed more attention and asked a few questions.
- ShawnSAME THING: Caller telling me my (Windows DESKTOP) is sending multiple error messages to Microsoft, indicating a "Virus" that appears to have been picked up though the "social networking" sights...She had the accent from India, Called me BY NAME & was insistent my "older desktop was at risk". I said NOT POSSIBLE. We don't HAVE Windows Desktops...We are entirely APPLE Mac OS X...
I hung up on her...while she kept frantically trying to convince me I needed to go thru a process on my computer with her.
Called APPLE about my "Parallels" program...they documented the phone number & I will be calling Microsoft next.- Caller: "microsoft"
- Ben| 1 replyI've received this same call over times; today I decided to answer because I have a friend In Bellevue, WA. It was not my friend but someone claiming to be from Microsoft (also with the heave Indian accent). Told him I was busy and would call him back. I plan to forward this information to Microsoft, can't they do something?

[***] India. - glowormI got a call this evening from this number and was told to go turn on my computer. It was a man with a very heavy accent. Could barely understand him but could get that he wanted me to go turn on my computer. I said ...is this a joke or something???? i got mad after he insisted that i go turn on my computer. Called the number back and got an answering machine with the federal government on it. Not sure how they do this but you would think this would be illegal.!!!!!
- Bees Knees4259981533 ... This is not the first time our home phone has gotten a call from this number ... When answered, there is silence for about 10 seconds, then a "goodbye" in a "female" recorded or computer generated device.
