He sent me a certain check just as you described too!  He stopped responding to the emails when the 'check' wasn't paid (no surprise there).

By the way, he's using Sam's Club to print out checks now.  Just so everyone knows.  That way, we can't get his return address, and he can cancel the checks so he never gets charged.

He told me to forward the money to some lady named Denise Harris in MS. -.-  Hope this guy gets caught.

REceived the same email as a response to craigslist listing for an apartment for rent from "eamon", "a Pharmacist by profession and i am currently working with  Woodstock Pharmacy 24 High St, Woodstock, OX20 1TF, United Kingdom."  Same ol' story right down the line.  A real nuisance that I hope can be stopped.  I suspect he is in NIgeria using yahoo email address.  It's all bogus.  Wish craigslist had a way to request a trace on his computer to block his responses to their listings.

They are still at it!  I recieved the same letter.  The funny thing was the grammar of the letter.  I am in no way an english professor but he make the mistakes of a 3rd grader in capitalizing certain letter.  Nevertheless he is still urgently waiting.  I hate the ones that fall for this guy.

Didn't get a call, but got the same emails mentioned in the other posts.  Scammer gave the same phone number and identified himself as Chris Hunt.  I had a home for rent on Craigslist and he wanted to send us 3 monthe rent plus deposit.  We thought it was probably a scam and now your site has convinced us it is.  He uses the same wording.  Thank you for providing info here to help so many of us.

He is now back to Dr Chris Hunt and wife Sandra pharmacist from
U.K.working Honeywell for year what gave the scam away was that
I am from the U.K.and would never have used the grammer he did
in his emails (Spacecoast Florida Craigs list)

Friends, this was the add I got when I posted a house to rent here in MA, be careful is a SCAM, never send any information overseas unless you REALLY know with whom you are dealing....

Did not get called, but instead everything went through email, the first being almost exactly like the one listed here.  Different name - Preston and Natalia Warsh, working for the Navy in Woodstock, UK.  44 70-319903942.  This scam is alive and well

Also received similar email when I posted an apt in San Francisco on Craigslist.

I became suspicious after noticing that the email was sent to: another email address in another state.

I think the angle may be something to do with revealing a bank routing number while fishing for information such as your bank acct number, full name and soc security number.
Maybe it's collecting email addresses and selling them to marketers.

Same organization.  Dr. Eamon Cox from UK (Pharmacist, wife/daughter, international study, needs rental).  Unfortunately, I gave him my address.  But, I spotted something odd in his email trail: lack of questions answered and some info that did not correlate.  I googled "Dr. Eamon Cox, Pharmacist" and found this site.

Thanks for the heads up.  Now I want to prosecute.
