- TDI got this call form this # last nite & they hang up when machine comes on. After googling the # & I see what it is. I was ready for them w/ caller ID. I keep a whistle by my house phone, I pick up the phone, don't say a word, to see if it's a real person or a computer dialing, a woman coem son saying "hello' very loudly. She got a loud whistle in her ear. I LOVED it. Told her not to call this # again. We'll see. try it people, get a whistle. Feels greats...gets out some tension or stress you may be feeling in your ligfe. If only temporary.

- kI wouldn't answer the phone when they called because of all that I read on here. I finally decided to call them when they called my place of business. Surprisingly they were very nice to me. I don't remember the ladys name but she was very helpful. Even the manager I spoke to was very nice. And no, I don't work for them.

- JoshHey there the person that posted as a collector. DCS can lick my balls. THey keep calling my house looking for someone that has moved from here. I very kindly explained to them that this person had moved and they were very nice to me on the phone. 3 calls everday for the next 3 months for the same person, i kept telling them that person moved a long time ago. They got very rude with me on the phone, I then talked to a supervisor who was a dick. You know what...[***] DCS.
- JustinThey called my work telephone and I didn't recognize the # (but I never get calls like this at work) so I answered - they already had knowledge of my SS#, the amount I owed on a student loan, and they said they were going to set up for wage garnishment if I didn't make arrangements immediately for payment. There this guy was asking me in front of my associates where I worked and how much I made per year, etc. How can they garnish my wages when they don't even know where I work? I told him it was inappropriate to discuss at work and he said it WAS appropriate because I had not made any payments. Can't I sue these people for harassing me at work?

- J Youngcalls and calls. never leaves a message
- WhiteReceived 2 calls from this number. They did not leave a voice message. I do not answer calls from numbers that I do not know. People can do too many things with an open telephone line. It does not take much to Leave a message especially if you want information on a person or an attempt to collect funds.
- MikeI am 15, I gave the person my address and phone number and my name and DOB I feel like a moron for giving them it all but for some reason i thought the cops would come because they were looking for money what do i do?!
- BBThey repeatedly call my office looking for one of my employees. They try to call with a different angle each time but I can see through their attempts. I have informed them that they are no longer allowed to make these calls to our place of business, but these idiots are too dumb to understand that they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act and and if I wanted to play rough I'd get the call recorded and turn it over to my attorney for a lawsuit under that Act.
I called back and spoke to someone who answered from the number that called and told her that they had been notified previously and that these calls were a disruption in our business day and that per that Act they were in violation. She was a total idiot that went off on me immediately. She wouldn't even listen to me. Wow! What a miserable way to make a living.- Caller: DCS Inc
- JimGreat, a scam company dealing in student loans. I need that like I need a hole in the head. Checked the number and did not answer. Thanks for your help guys!
- Sarah from IllinoisWOW! So I missed a call from this number and I googled it because it seemed weird to begin with. I found this website and have been reading all of these entries, I even followed the link to this DCS's website which looks really lame and poorly put together. I've made better looking websites in my tech classes. Anywho I decided to call the number back, pressed 0 for op cause there was no way I was giving out my info and a woman answered asking for my SS# or account #. I started to say I don't have an account # and she immediatly sent me to the voicemail of Rose Collins...wtf! No common curtosey to say hold on as she transfers me. Nothing at all! So I didn't leave a message. I am a current student and all my loans are in excellent standing. Also since I'm still a burrower I don't have any outstanding student loans. These people seem phishy, I wouldn't give them ANY info!

- KRMGot a call from this number. It was a lady who asked if I was 'so-and-so', and I told her yes. She asked if I was born in 1983. Told her no. At this point stopped answering questions from her. Started asking her questions, and she told me she was Anita (I think) and she was calling from Oregon. Asked her why she was calling, and she told me it was 'a personal thing'. She sounded friendly and personable, and based on the way she was talking and the questions she was asking, my first impulse was maybe she was researching some sort of a family geneology. Kind of naive for a moment, I know, but then immediately realized she was probably some sort of scamm. Ended conversation.

- Equinox| 1 replyI know of this company. I know some of the people that work there. I do not work for them. The company name is DCS, Inc. They collect on Federal and State debts - mostly student loans. Because these are federal loans they must be paid back and collectors on these types of loans have more power and ability than non-secured credit card loans. They get all their info on people from the loan apps and updates from the federal government. Because they are essentially authorized by the federal government they have access to info areas that regular collections companies, or attorneys do...including facebook accounts, myspace, etc. They are allowed to call on DNC, or "do not call" lists, because they represent a collection for a government authority; are not telemarketing; and the party is either the loan issuee or a person listed on such a loan...so the DNC rules do not apply. They are not required to give out any personal info or even the company name because they are supposed to speak with the loan issuee or other contact on the loan and so no one else has to be given any info about the company or account. It's just the way it is for these types of collections. These kinds of loans are typically not protected against bankruptcies either. Credit cards are a whole different ballgame, however.
