They wanted to survey me re: Bank of America.  I don't do business with BOA so I hung up.

Outsourcing agency Maritz Research. They work for bill collectors. Their job is to validate your name and number under false pretense of doing survey. Then harassing calls will follow from different numbers.

This unfortunate caller must have ESP as to when I am not at home.  Never has left vm.  Caller ID shows Maritz Research.  What they are researching is a mystery to me.  Not interested in taking surveys and will not go out of my way to return the call nor sprint to the phone to answer it.

Ask them if maybe they can refer you to a good shrink who may be able to help you with those "issues".

I got a call too and blocked it cuz i get the call regularly too. Telemarketers are okay if it's a company that has that sort of relationship with me. why is it that when we apply for credit cards that we must get satisfaction survey calls? Had te same prob when i lived overseas. Why would i be happy with them anyway?

You might find it anoying but it is not against the law for a research or suryvey company to call you or those seeking donations for charity or policatical action calls.
Nor is it against the law for a company you have done business with to call you.

Do not report to the national registry calls that they can not do nothing about it is a waste of time for those calls to that are against the law.

And if you what to know what the call is about answer the phone, polity tell them to take you off their list once you know what they want.

I kept getting these same calls every day, several times a day, at any given time UNTIL yesterday when I was finally here and answered quick enough to talk to the person. They said they were doing a survey about my financial accounts.

Well that got me going! I asked what accounts? They said your checking account and other accounts. When I asked why they needed to know my financial situation and asked her what accounts and other  questions she was silent. She had no answers. Throw it back to them. She did NOT represent a credit card company or any place I may have complained about or dealot with. She had no real explanation as to why she was calling me

I RARELY am solicited or get these kinds of calls. I responded to her by telling her to "remove me from your calling list IMMEDIATELY" and "DO NOT" not ever call here again. I told her "I have documented every time they have called" and that "I WILL report them". And oh my will I. I DO NOT fool around with thes kinds of calls.

Hogwash........give NO information. Turn the tables on them and tell them as I did. You should get no more calls!!

They call here about 5-6 times a day.  My telephone system allows mw to block an abusive number, but it still rings once and registers on caller ID but they can not get through.

If Maritz Research is a legitimate company performing a legitimate service then they would leave a message. They don't. Ever. And they call daily. Have been calling my house now for more than three weeks every day and NEVER leaves a message. I work long hours so when I get home and see this company on my caller ID each and every day without leaving a message I have to wonder ... if a matter is important enough to call my home day in and day out for weeks on end is it not important enough to leave a message? This proves the call and company are rubbish.

I kept getting calls too, even at 8:30 in the evening! Through other reply boards I learned it is from http://www.maritz.com/About-Maritz/Contact-Us/Our-Offices.aspx 
and you can call this number - 800-864-8601 - to be be removed from their calling list. It takes up to 3 days to be removed. I am also going to contact Bank of America, as it appears they may be paying for Maritz to make these calls. Good luck to everyone. What an annoyance! Oh, the Federal Do Not Call REgistry still allows these types of calls. You need to opt-out by calling the number above. But, who knows what that really does, in our strange world of no privacy.

Same story - they call in the evenings, and leave no message.  I've even tried grabbing the phone after two rings so I can tell them to put me on their DNC list, but they hang up too fast.I took rozcats advice and contacted them to stop - who knows if it will work.  Anybody who insists that calls like this should be tolerated is way out of line. I have to leave my phone on and check whenever there is a call because of loved ones with medical issues , and every call might be "the call". I also disagree that we shouldn't complain to the Fed DNC. I know lots of pests get around the rules and still torment us, but if we keep complaining and insisting, maybe the laws will be improved eventually and we will all get the consideration and privacy we deserve.

ps. nothing can be done about market research!!!  Its research big companies pay compaines to do and without peoples imput companies will do whatever they want! :)

me too.  my caller ID captured this caller hung up left no message.  all I got was a pre-recorded message "If you would like to make a call, please hang up and try again."  over and over on my voice mail answering machine.  That's disgusting!!  If they call again, I'll report it to both the FCC and the Do Not Call website.

Oops, just to let you all know that I've just called that number this morning and got a pre-recorded message about how to get on their Do Not Call list since they are NOT a telemarketer.  For your information, the number for their Do Not Call list is:  1-800-864-8601.  It will take up to 3 days to take effect.

If only it was that simple.  I am registered on the Do Not Call registry.  This numbered called me anyway.  That registry really does not work as I am being called by telemarketers all the time.
