I also received a call after making a complaint against Bank of America. It seemed legitimate since I had let BofA aware I was very dissatisfied with them. I usually don't answer these calls or take these surveys, but I was so upset with BofA that I took it. The survey took 10 or 15 minutes, and the guy was polite and didn't ask personal questions other than my age and race for their demographics. If I hadn't made a complaint, I would have been very weary of it, so if you haven't complained about a company, I would suggest ignoring the calls or asking them to stop.

They call frequently.  I have stopped answering the phone intentionally, but if I am expecting a real call I may pick up by mistake.  I hope that doesn't signal them to call again, because the DO.\!  As soon as I say "hello" and don't get an immediate answer I hang up.

This was a B.S. survey on a bank I don't use. The guy was polite, but I was very cautious because I get lots of scammers in my line of work (I sell classic truck parts online). I took the survey, but I gave the most outrageous answers and practically acted so stupid the guy couldn't keep from laughing. I got pretty graphic and dirty with my answers; I mean, it was bordering on criminal. Finally, the guy got the clue that I was just trying to screw with them like they screwed with me..... I am thinking of new material for their next call. I have them saved on my ID as "Fools from Virginia".

This is the Deal.  If you answer your phone or call them back, your phone number is put on a list of people who actually answer their phone.  Most people do not answer their phone now days, so a list of people who do answer your phone will be sold off and used for their next company.  So, you will receive a lot more calls to your phone number.

And, Do-not-Call Does-not-work.  These people will just through the fine in the trash can.

I am on the DNC list and they keep calling and calling.  If it makes you feel better to report to the FCC, that's fine.

If it is indeed a survey about BOA, boy are they going to get an earful from me.  BOA should be shut down for their illegal shenanigans.

I am adding this number to my blocked list.  The do not call list is a joke.  doesnt work.  I wish someone would tell my mom that if you answer it sends a signal as a good number----even if you hang up.....

Caller claimed to be from Bank of America and immediately stated it was not a sales call. I don't believe it.

Actually, the "Do Not Call" list only applies to telemarketers. In other words, only when something is being sold. It does not apply to surveys or polls. If you're on the list, the caller can't legally try to sell you anything, but they are allowed to ask your opinions and conduct surveys.

Seriously, people do not bother reading through the other responses before they leave their complaint. Did you just come here to [***] and moan?  What purpose does that serve?  Personally I come to these threads to see info others have gleaned from receiving the same phone call, and I'm glad I did.

I missed a phone call from this company today, probably triggered by a recent series of complaints to Wendy's Restaurants.
That doesn't mean I wanted it or would have responded to it, but I'm glad to know it's not a scam artist or telemarketer.

Thank you VERY MUCH to the people who took the time to research it and post a REASONABLE answer.  The rest of you, you might feel better if you actually took 30 seconds to read these posts before you go screaming in ALL CAPS about reporting someone to the FCC or accusing them of being scammers.  Sheesh.

Received a call from this number today around 8PM. It was a survey concerning my recent car purchase. It took about 3 min. to complete. Asked questions about sale experience and then about 5 questions concerning demographics, which may only be shared "summarily".. whatever that means. They had all of my personal information so I figured it was legit and not a scam deal.

This annoying number shows up on my cell here in Canada.  It has been added to my cell's auto-reject list.  My cell number isn't listed or given out to anyone I do not know, so I think one of two things happened.  1) About 4 months ago, a large number of 'unknown' calls came to both my cell and house phones, then these people start phoning about a month or so later.  Obviously, they got my number from a 'number harvester', which is a dialer program that seeks out phone numbers that do not return an out of service recording.  That is how they get your number, and it's done from overseas over the 'net, so the people that did the dirty work and sold the list are not the people who are phoning now.  2) Sometimes, without your permission, your cell carrier will sell your number (and Name!) to a 'partner', who pays them for that information.  In Canada, it's perfectly legal, as long as it's in the 'terms of service', which most people fail to read.  Usually they restrict that to people who are on monthly plans, because they know they are not dealing with a 'throw away' number or phone.  The cell companies make big dollars off that, which is part of how they subsidize the true costs of providing you a lower price per month on certain plans.  Part of the 'background noise' these days.

For what it's worth, I called BOA to ask if Maritz is working for them. BOA HAS NEVER HEARD OF THEM. Sounds like a phishing expedition. Take the survey and they know you have a BOA account.
I didn't take the survey, but I did confirm in a roundabout way that I have an account there. I'll have to watch my bank statements very closely.

Must be a telemarketer of some sort. They call and never leave a message. Caller ID for this number, 571-431-1960, says Maritz Research. Our number is listed on the Do Not Call (DNC) registry. Apparently, they don't do a good job researching first which number to call.
