- Esq2004 replies to PricillaI'm almost positive Davids gave my # out, because they left a message @ the Office too! & David's is the ONLY place I left my office #!!!!. Thanks everyone!
- JessicaI did also receive this phone call, and we attended the presentation last night. The presentation is actually quite enjoyable because I thought Tom was quite funny and his wife was pleasant.
As far as the prizes they tell you about on the phone, you DO, I repeat DO, get the prizes without having to purchase ANYTHING. I did not feel one time pressured that I have to buy this cookware. They did demonstrations, and actually discussed healthy cooking which I enjoyed listening to.
They did offer more prizes if you did make any type of order, but there was no requirement to purchase anything.
From what I understand, they get these prizes for next to nothing, and it is their way to get engaged couples in to demonstrate their product, which is actually a very good quality product. You get what you pay for. No, they don't have any retail stores, no sales associates on commission, and this allows them to sell the cookware for below retail cost because of their low overhead.
From what I saw, this company seems legit, and the prizes promised over the phone are legit. I have the vouchers sitting next to me right now.
It's worth it to sit though the presentation.- Caller: Cookworld USA
- Jessica.. again| 3 repliesOh and P.S....
As far as what "SCAMMED" was saying, I forgot to mention..
There definitely are 20 locations to choose from for the 3 day/2 night hotel stay..
and yes, the $1000 is $1000 worth of online coupons that you go onto the website and sign up for... go to the website.. grocerycardusa.com.. its self explanitory. And with money as tight as it is for me, it's definitely worth it.
I don't know what the heck this lady was talking about, but doesn't seem like anything that I experienced with the SAME people last night.- Caller: Cookworld USA
- kewlnessbeans15 replies to patty in perry.I bought their cookware and its the best investment ever!!
- LGI just got this call as well - glad i googled it! they called me from 631-271-3792
- Caller: cookworld
- SarahNo idea how they got my number (except that I'm getting married). Also about a prize I won and how they were "only in town for a few days" so I had to call back qucik to claim. Do not fall for this scam
- Sarah replies to PricillaThanks for the info about David's Bridal. That is the only place they MUST have gotten my cell phone number from as I've never been to any Bridal Expos. They will also be getting a call from me. You think they'd be happy with the thousands of dollars of business that they wouldn't need to sell our phone numbers to outside vendors. How annoying!
- MattieI just received a call from this number as well and they left a message. I had my Fiancé call back for me because I was working. The lady he talked to said that we did need to do to the presentation to be able to claim our prize. I think we are going to go and form our own opinion about it and we will make sure and post what happens. He's a salesman himself so we know how not to get scammed..
*I did also try on a dress at David's Bridal and will be receiving a call from me when I get off. Even if we do get the prizes I'm not ok with my number being given out.- Caller: Cookworldusa.com
- Jessica... again replies to Jessica.. again| 2 repliesI wanted to update what has happened ever since the presentation.
I don't think I mentioned this in my last posts, but we did end up purchasing the cheapest package they had available.. which ended up being about $1900 after tax... 8 piece set, plus a full knife set. I have since received the product, and it is definitely the same product they demonstrate at the presentation. (I was a little bit nervous that it would be something different). I know that it is pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for. And let me tell you, these knives are incredible! My mother has a nice chefs knife that she paid almost $200 for, and she used my chefs knife that came in the set, and she said it's way better than hers! I always knew I wanted to have a really nice set of knives, and would love to have good quality pots and pans. These have a lifetime guarantee, so for my fiance and I, it was worth it to invest the money now, and have them forever.. instead of wasting money over the years on multiple sets of lesser quality cookware and knives.
But what really sealed the deal for us was the free cruise offer with any purchase. Tom mentioned this at the end of the presentation.. and everyone in the room responded in doubtful silence. I could tell, everyone thought "yeah right". But, turns out, it's completely legit. We got a voucher for a 5 day/4 night carnival cruise for two. It's an "entry level cabin"..meaning inside, no windows. And it doesn't include airfare or taxes or booking fees. We will end up paying 392.42 in taxes and booking fees. They assign a travel agent to you to arrange the details, and we do plan on upgrading to a different room (another reason for this benefiting the cruise line... upgrades, extending to a longer cruise, etc). You get to pick 1 of 3 ports to sail out of.. Long Beach, California, Miami, Florida, and Port Canaveral, Florida. (There could be other charges also depending on what time of the year you're planning on traveling). We're doing Miami and using our free hotel stay before we start the cruise..Stay in Miami for a couple days before the cruise. Honestly, we wanted to do a cruise for our honeymoon anyway, and this way we will save a lot of money. It's not free, but we will save a lot.
As far as how they get these free trips... go to odenza.com. This is the company they get them from. Its actually a company with "incentive marketing solutions".. Companies buy these travel vouchers from this company to offer them as sales incentives for their customers. With a company like Cookworld, with their cheapest package of cookware being $1800, it is worth it to them to offer these incentives to get the sale..especially with how this economy is. There were two different presentations the night we went, and I think about 15 of 20 couples bought something. You do the math. Do you think all these couples would have purchased something if it weren't for these trips? Probably not. I know we wouldn't have.
Not everything is a scam. Most things are, yes. But this one isn't.
And I am not any type of employee of any of these companies. I'm just a girl who's engaged and got a phone call.. Just like you. Please feel free to email me with any questions.. Jessie1386@gmail.com. I'm a 23 year old girl from Cleveland, Ohio.. I was nervous about all of this being a scam, just like you are (or else you wouldn't be looking at this site). I wanted to provide this information for those of you who are thinking of just dismissing it as a scam. Because I sure am glad that I didn't. I'm so happy with my knives and cookware, and I am so excited we're going to be saving money for our honeymoon. - ames| 1 replydavid's bridal definitely sells your information to other parties, but i guess that's what happens when you sign up on their website. i did so to enter to win a free wedding gown.
anywho, the cooksworld presentation wasn't that bad. i got the same phone call from a gal who told me the same thing about the trip, grocery coupons and discount on cooksworld products.
i just came back from a presentation at the westin hotel today and here's my 2 cents:
you have to pay for parking, tho discount, still $3 for parking *sigh*
you do get a good presentation about some decent products out there
i thought it was interesting
cooksworld products are NOT cheap, starting at $900 for their lowest package
as for the "gifts"
you have to wait for them to send you the 3 day 2 night voucher to your home address
the grocery coupons are done via some online website, it's coupons to use towards your shopping, ie $2 off tide or something similar
if you don't buy anything the day of the presentation, you don't get to come back and redeem the cooksworld discount.
it was informational, but like any sales pitch, not for everyone.- Caller: cooksworld

- ella replies to amesWe just attended a presentation this Saturday at the Westin as well.
The presentation was good, I admit but coming from a culinary background, I did not appreciate the presenter's condescending attitude towards All-Clad or the brands of my knives. For the record, my Shun knives also have lifetime guarantee. We checked out their products, they are decent but not for us. We went to Costco after and guess what, the Kirkland brand pots and pans use the same exact base--the only differences is the overall design and the Cookworld stuff has a whistle on it to let you know when the food is done. For $200, you can get a whole set at Costco that cooks great food just minus the whistle. - FlakaI got the same call, same voicemail and same offers after I signed up with David's Bridal! Glad we googled it before actually wasting our time going down there! I'm definetly calling David's Bridal tomorrow!

- Skeptical replies to jmSo glad I found this site -- I have received 2 calls from 2 different people saying I won a bridal package and to call quick because they could only hold it for a few more days. Now I am getting married and attended a couple bridal expos so wasn't shocked to be receiving telemarketing calls. Figured there had to be some string attached though with getting a free prize.
Anyone randomly calling you and not leaving enough information about the company they are with or specific details is always a red flag in my opinion. There is too much scandal and theivery these days not to be questionable.
I will save my $2,000 in cookware, get a nice set for a few hundred bucks as a wedding gift off my registry and use the money for my honeymoon. - janet replies to deniseLadies.....Thank you... A woman name "Janetta' just call me telling me the same story... im so glad I found out it that it is a BIG SCAM....
- LoriI got one of these calls too. Again I believe throught David's Bridal. They are no longer in PA, I got this call two days ago.
- ronettaMichelle and Arlene called me from this number, invited me to a presentation tonight at 8:30 pm in Richmond at the Comfort Inn in the 8000 block of W. Broad St. in the Jefferson Room. Thanks to these messages, my fiance and I will NOT be attending.

- NikkiThanks for the info. I got a call from Carra and I couldn't understand everything she said including the company she worked for. I'm glad I decided to Google the number first. I see that someone else mentioned David's Bridal. That is where I got my dress from so I wouldn't be surprised if they are the one's selling our information. I've already booked my honeymoon so I'm not interested.
- Joleen replies to SIerra| 1 replyMy call came from Claudia, and the only place I ever submitted my name is on David's Bridal website.... that must be where they got my info.
