Should not answer or picking phone. It's scam

These people have called my 9 year old sons cell phone for months now, when we call and tell them its the wrong number they get upset and very rude to him and myself.  They told us they were a debt collector, and when we told them that were arnt the person they were looking for, they argured with us and tried to convice us that we were them.  They had my 9 yera old in tears, and they lady kept on him.  I just spoke with a Mr. Person (i am sure thats not his name) and he said they couldnt find the phone number in the system so there was no way that they had called him.  When i told them that i had cell phone records, tape recordings and documentaion from AT &T that they had called, he changed his story and said he would take the number off the call list.  I am seriously considering filling a report with the authorities on this one.  I have also sent them a cease and desist letter to the corporate office (fax number 757-321-2504).

They call constantly!  We will send you money when we can.  Calling is not going to magically make money appear and when you harass people it makes them less likely to want to answer the phone when you call non stop.

They are scammers. they are trying to collect on old (past statute of limitation) debts.  I responded in writing (certified return receipt) stating debt was invalid and not to contact me again unless they could send me validation of the debt.They continue to call me I just pick up the phone and hang up without saying anything. I plan on suing them ($1000 for each occurance) since I have the receipt from the post office that they got my letter and by law they are not suppose to contact me unless they can show me the validiation of the debt.  Maybe I will end up getting rich from them. I am keeping a phone log of their calls.

Portfolio Recovery Associates, owned by the master scammer Steven D Fredrickson, might be the biggest scam operation on this planet. Steven D Fraud should be his name. Don't ever communicate with them and NEVER send them any money, or it will only get worse.

I am getting calls from them now on a cell phone number that is unlisted. Wonder how they got it. Anyway, I know they are trying to collect on a debt that is a. outdated and b. was never mine due to identity theft and c. has been removed by the credit reporting agencies because it was proved id theft.
I recommend to you 1. never to answer calls of people you don't know the number. If they are ligit, they will leave a message and 2. if you have a debt that you have not paid on in over 2 years, don't even talk to anyone about it, such as verfying info. They will redate the debt and it will be on your account for 7 more years from that date. You might as well suffer with the lower credit score for 5 years, (which, by the way after 3 years, isn't that big of a drop in score anymore)than to keep talking to them and redating the debt.

I love my new iphone. There is a program called Blacklist, where I can add them to a list, and choose the response (hang up, return a nasty text, busy signal, e.g.) I added to my Blacklist, and they get a friendly hangup every time they call, and I never know they called because it never rings!!

What is the statute of limitations on debt? Any professionals out there who know if a debt becomes "charged off if it goes into bankruptcy?  I paid into a bankruptcy plan for three yeas(was supposed to be 5), but had to come out of it due to illness and unemployment. Now the calls have started again.

The caller hangs up when the phone is answered and does not leave a message.  I am really get tried of these calls.  I have caller ID but the number does not have a name associated with it.

They can "STOP" calling me at my number.
I called back. They are Porfoloio Collection Agency. I don't owe no one nothing. But, the bills I pay on time NOW!!!

I do not know anyone in Minnesota, the phone rings and they do not left a voice mail message so therefor it could not be important.

Got a call from this number tonight. Portfolio Recovery is still at it. Called my number looking for my wife. MY WIFE'S NAME IS NOT LISTED!! Looking for a debt recovery that was taken care of over 12 years ago. The idiot thought she was talking to the husband of record several years ago. He passed away 5 years ago. She has remarried. I think the idiots at Portfolio Scam Recovery just hand out old sheets to whatever simpleton they can con into bothering people late at night. The one that called me tonight got her rights read to her. Old women with gravel-throated voices and think they can con me like some school child should find another venue of revenue.

Looking for Robert Owens, wouldn't even tell me their name at first.

Portfolio Recovery leaves messages that "if this is not so and so do not listen to this message" identifies themselves by name and return the call to 866-929-0529 extension 57007.

Sounds like she has a second grad education and she is doing finance. No doubt can not so much as write a check hersdelf!

I have received the same call many times.  They ask for 'Warren Sater'.  When I respond that they have the wrong number, they ask if I know 'Warren Sater'
