7579613544 keeps calling, leaves no message but the caller I.D. says "NRFOLKZON2" dunno if that's a person's name or what.

They are la-git. Looked them up on the BBB. *sigh* They started calling here. But they can not threten you. You have to look up the rules that creditors has to use. And no I do not work for them. I plan on not answering.

These people are disgusting. No answer when you pick up the phone. They'd better stop calling, since we're on the do not call list.

My husband and I were separated 10 years before he died.....I have no idea what he did those 10 years, but since he died they are trying to collect old debts from me that belonged to him....I have no idea why they are calling me but they are so rude and call over and over and over again....The first call I was caught off guard and ask to speak to me and I acknowledged my name....huge mistake...I am even get text messages on my phone now with unbelievable language....

This number is one of 18 different numbers these bottom feeders have been calling our house from over the past 18 months!  Right now, this is the one they are using,and the vermin called me on it three times yesterday.  They go through phases...sometimes, it is the Tennessee outpost they use, then it might be Kansas, and sometimes they use an Alabama number for Anchor Receivables, which is the same company, and sometimes, of course, home base in Norfolk Virginia.  

Sometimes they call several times a day, each time from a different number.  Most times, they do not identify themselves on the caller ID, although they are going through this phase right now of using this number with the caller ID. Sometimes they use this number without a caller ID! Go figure.  I think they are sorry to find out that by googling a phone number, we can find info on who is calling. They were not counting on that when they devised this scheme to harass people for fabricated amounts due on time-barred unsecured debt.  

I finally had enough and wrote to the state attorney general, with a list of all the numbers they have used, and log of all their calls just since June.  And I gave the attorney general a bit of my opinion regarding the law, which allows this, ought to be ashamed of itself. The bank got not one but two tax write-offs for the old debt, plus the (paltry, granted) income from 'selling' it, after they had written it off.  How the heck can you sell something that does not exist?  Well, if you are a ordinary mortal, you would go to jail for that, but these banks can do it and get away with it, and then let these bottom feeding pond scum harass us for years after ward.  And they are allowed to continue doing this, even though they do not, and cannot, comply with the most basic requirement of the law, which is to provide written proof of the debt, including the debtor's signature on the original document. And they want us to be respectful of their right to do business?  Give me a break.

You are correct.  These folks are a publicly traded company in the business of collecting debt.  Debt that is valid and recent as well as "sleeper debt"  
Do not respond to the calls.  
This company is the worst of the worst.
Once they have pinned an outstanding debt on you it will takes years to shake them.  You will need to check your credit and if they have put a tag on your credit, you will need to begin a long letter writting campaign to shake them off.

Shame on Congress for allowing this type of business to thrive.

I agree with every negative comment here.  I have no idea why they are calling me since I won't answer calls from unrecognized numbers.  Any company that will call multiple times yet refuses to leave a voice mail is clearly not legitimate.  Oh sure, they have a cute little web site about how legitimate they are, but it is as honest as they are.  I don't owe anyone any money - all of my debts are paid - so I assume they are calling for the previous user of my phone number.  I have worked in the telecom industry for more than 5 years and I hope they are braced for what I will do and say if they ever do manage to get in contact with me.

Do not give these scum bags any information!!!   I am filing charges.  They will not stop harassing my 88 yr. old mother-in-law. Refuse to give any information on who they are.  How stupid do they think people are!!

I keep getting calls from Portfolio Recovery, they will NOT leave me alone.

I do not owe them anything, and their pre-recorded messages they leave certainly are not going to get me to call them back!

With everything I've been reading that says they are a scam, I HOPE that someone will shut them down!

I have been filing complaints on the Do Not Call website every time I get one of these calls. I HOPE others will file the complaints as well!

I wish they would leave me alone!

called me three times today but i have this number blocked and nineteen other numbers that they call from.. im not answering-NO MATTER WHAT!  so take a long dive off a short cliff portfolio recovery!!

I get calls from this number all hours of the day and night. I don't have any overdue debts and my name is on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

Wish I had knew his address when I was in New Port News. Might have stopped in and had coffee or SOMETHING.

Over the last couple months I have gotten calls from this bunch. It has been an automated call saying to call some other number. According to the automated message they say their Portfolio Recovery, a debt collector. If that is true I would love to know what debt they think I owe. To date I have received nothing in the mail from them, which is illegal under the FDCPA. They have to notify me by mail that I have 30 days to dispute the debt. I never received that letter. Of course that makes sending a cease and desist a little difficult cause I don't have an account number to reference, and I'm not going to give them personal information in hopes of trying to get them to stop calling.
