Caller ID read UnitedHealthCare.  Since I didn't recognize the phone number, did not pick up.  They did not leave a message.

Getting these calls at 9:01.01 every day! What pests.

I have a parrot and have recorded her voice on my tape recorder. When these pests call me, I answer the phone--BUT start to play my parrot's voice. They keep saying: "Talk louder--I can't hear you."

Wait until my parrot says: "Polly want a cracker?"

    HI-LARIOUS!

While the call may be legitimate, I find it inappropriate for the caller to ask for personally identifying information (PII).  Unfortunately, scam callers can easily mask/fake caller IDs to mimic legitimate businesses, opening the path to identity and financial theft. United Health Care is failing their customers by asking for PII during unsolicited outbound calls - essentially “training” vulnerable populations to let their “guard” down.  UHC needs to stop this practice.

    WORKING FROM HOME
Funny, i was on a call with UMR (third party admisitrator associated with UHC) working from home and using my cell phone because my internet phone is not working. while holding on the UMR call, this number kept calling. i kept ignoring until i answered, very annoyed. It turned out to be the same rep i was talking to. He dropped the call  while i was on hold and called me back to complete my status check. nothing fishy about the call. it was the same guy.

I got a call like that claiming to be from UHC. They knew the doctor I had visited. They asked name and date of birth. Call was breaking up and dropped. Number was restricted. I was awaiting pre autorization for meds and at first thought it was legitimate. Then determined it was a scam.

Received several calls. I let them go to voicemail but they don't leave a message so that makes me suspicious.

    Not in the USA
I received a call from this number on my US number, which I am set to receive even though I do not live in the US. I did not get to answer the call in time, so I called the number in the voicemail message 844752-9443, x164055 to tell them that I am not the person whom they said they were calling. I got their computer which claimed to have found my account from my phone number and wanted my birthdate to confirm identity. Obviously I don’t know their birthdate. Eventually, it connected me to a voicemail but did not let me dial the extension that they had left. I left a message with the name of the person they said they were calling to say that this is not her number and I don’t need their services.

Won’t pick up for unknowns replies to Jersey
Same here if I do not know # I won’t accept the call. They called me 2x no message, next time it will be on block list. If it was them, they would leave a call back # or message. Or they can contact my broker

Same as the other most recent posts.  Several calls from this number claiming to be part of UHC and needing info.   The message left was very "broken English" translation (that could be Apple).
    • Caller: Not identified beyond someone with UHC.

I work for a home health agency and received call from a foreign person who spoke very broken english, he was saying he worked for UHC and wanted to know if we could take a pts ins plan.  When I asked him about the plan he was talking about then he proceeded to say I just want to know if you will take or not, and I said it depends on what plan and also if we have staffing which he had to ask what that word meant.  When I told him we don't always have staffing for certain areas, etc he said then you need to close up and hung up on me.  This cannot be a UHC worker, he was rude and very unprofessional.  The caller ID shows the 763-274-3899 and shows UHC but I strongly believe this is a SCAMMER

Listen ppl and scammer that obviously wrote this.  Yes your correct when I CALL my health care provider I have to verify parts of my info but never the other way around and I was told this by my insurance company that told me FOR SURE that this is a known scammer phone number.!!!!!! They tried calling me two days in a row one day being a SUNDAY LOL (well ya gave up the goods on that one cuz my insurance company AND the company you tried to say you were from (which was a Legitimate dept at my insurance company) ARE NOT OPEN ON SUNDAYS.  Well this FOREIGNER (which my insurance company said they do not outsource to foreign countries) barely spoke English and I barely said hello and both phone calls this women DEMANDED i give her my dr’s phone number.  They weren’t trying to help me They Weren’t doing anything that any of the supposed people  above that I assume are also scammers that are trying to look legitimate and say that there are actual people that have gotten help but yeah they weren’t trying to help me. I can’t believe someone actually had the audacity above to say they help them with their cancer but I guess scammers that will stop at nothing so I shouldn’t be surprised. Do not second-guess yourself anybody please. Post is from 2014 from “a caring nurse” and it’s now 2022 and I can tell you from reading the comments that they’re using different insurance companies because I don’t live anywhere near those people nor do I have that insurance nor does my state offer that insurance. My insurance company logs every single pole that goes out of there a company and they do not call anybody from any numbers other 888 numbers.  They also said they do not allow anyone to have access to any of my information from companies such as the one that there’s nurses claiming to belong to and like I said the person who called me actually said the name of the department that my insurance company does have so they were very easily able to debunk this and let me know that if someone had called from that department it would’ve been logged in their system and they not only don’t see it called once but they don’t see it called twice on either day. The lady actually laughed when I told her one of the days was Sunday. The two calls  I got I don’t know if they were from The same person or not but as I stated above all the woman did was demand that I give her the phone number to my doctors office which I did not do. When I told my insurance company this they told me that they have my doctors office phone number and that if they needed what this scammer supposedly said that they needed they wouldn’t need permission from me to contact the doctor. Do you see everything about this is a scam. I made sure to debunk every possible situation or scenario when talking to my insurance company to make sure that everything was for sure OK. I guess they’re getting pretty desperate since 2014 because they went from supposedly trying to help people to now trying to scare people because these two people tried to say that my insurance was being canceled unless I gave them my doctors phone number and they could call him and confirm that I was still a patient. I mean come on, it didn’t even sound legitimate to me but obviously if someone tells you that it’s going to scare you which is why I called my insurance company but had to wait till the second call Which came on a Monday because the first call came on a Sunday so as I stated my insurance company was closed. They said that my insurance was not in any way shape or form going to be canceled and to block or ignore the phone calls coming from that number and if anyone else called from any other number saying that they were my insurance company to also ignore them. She apologized and said she wasn’t sure why this was happening and I’m sure it has nothing to do with my actual insurance company meaning I don’t think it’s their fault in anyway. I think the scammers just buy a lot of phone numbers and somehow someway they got mine it just kind of freaks me out that they knew who my insurance company was  or at least made a really good guess at the name of the department that was within my insurance company. So again please please please do not fall for this scam if you don’t believe me then call your insurance company yourself and explain the situation and see what they say and if they say it was legitimate trust me the scammers will call you back again but I know they won’t tell you it’s legitimate so is what it is. I wish that something could be done to stop these people it’s absolutely ridiculous that they spend their days scamming people and I’m sure if I was an elderly person and I felt as though I was going to lose my insurance as someone that would need it even more as an older person I probably would have fallen for this just because of the fear that was set but that’s what scammers do. They try and make you scared of a repercussion Like your Amazon account was hacked and if you don’t do such and such your card will be charged $999 or I don’t know I’m just gonna stop here y’all know what I mean. I hope this helps somebody and I hope everyone out there stay safe and God bless
