    ATTENTION ANYONE getting calls from (763) 274-3899 / 763-274-3899

    Hello all you good people!

I am a Registered Nurse at Secure Horizon's AARP or what you may refer to as your Medicare Advantage Plan provided to you by our parent company United Healthcare.  My division is called OptumHealth which means GoodHealth.

I call and speak with many members of our healthplan on daily basis helping them live healthier lives.  We help YOU by assisting in understanding your health conditions, recognize and respond to symptoms, make changes for the better in regards to health and lifestyle, ask your physicians intelligent questions and know/use your healthcare benefits wisely and efficiently.

Our programs are voluntary!  Thank goodness it is still a free country in good ol' USA.  But please don't try to call us back at the 763-274-3899 because your call will not go back to anyone who was really trying to reach you.

If you call the number on your back of your ID card our good folks in member services don't know what all we do.  We are likely care management/case management/disease management/wellness/maybe even prescription solutions (pharmacy benefit management).

The last thing we want is to bug you.  We want you to feel comfortable with who we are and what we do -if you are not then kindly tell us.  We understand skepticism, being safe on the phone with personal information. If you read your benefit booklets you'll see this is part of your insurance though us.

---Keep in mind our calls route though the Midwest for phone savings at the 763-274-3899.  In order for us to reach out to ALL of you part of our process is automated.  If we leave you a message, listen to it to obtain our direct number and call us if you'd like - you may be surprised.

---I always leave my name and my call back phone number as do the other great nurses I work with.  I just thought you ought to know we are real people.

Dear "A Caring Nurse,"  Thank you for your explanation.  In this day and age of so many scams, it's good that someone like you will follow up.  I just received a call saying it was regarding my Secure Horizons update thru UHC and this was the number on my caller i.d. so I "googled" the number and found this website.  Thankfully, I let it go to voice mail so I do have the call-back number.  :-)

I appreciate "A Caring Nurse" for your explanation of these calls but truly, I wonder if you are talking to our doctors, know our medicines...why call out of the blue?  After years of UHC I suddenly got a call...the nurse wanted to know about my health and asked many, I felt, invasive questions.  What prompts you to call a member?

After recieving a phone call from the number listed by everyone on this page and reading the post from "a caring nurse" I did a research and found that optumhealth is not open on Saturday, even though we recieved a call Saturday about 2:15pm. Any legitimate company would never call you then ask for personal non public information. This is totally a phishing expedition and the post "A Caring Nurse" posted is bogus! It is just one of the scammers trying to legitimize their scam. It is outlined within every bank / healthcare company that they will never call you and ask for your personal information. The phone number provided on the optumhealth website has a voicemail message that also asks you to give out your confidential information! WOW why do people still fall for this crap.

As far as I'm concerned this isn't a scam. Every time my son's healthcare plan calls me, it comes through this number. His "case manager" calls to check up on him and make sure he's using all the services he's available for. I'd say they call twice a year or as needed depending what medical emergencies may come up.

They've never asked for any out of the ordinary information.

The call is not a scam. They call to talk about your health. You can decide if you do not want to tell them anything. They talked to me about my breast cancer and sent me literatures. They will give you suggestions regarding what questions to ask your doctor and how you can take care of yourself. They do help me alot.

If it's UHC, they won't ASK you for your SS#, bank account information, or any other info of that kind of sensitivity. However, because Federal law prohibits them from discussing anything about your health without confirming your identity, they WILL provide you with some of your own general information -- your house number or month and date of your birth, for example -- and will ask you to fill in the rest -- your street name, ZIP code, year of your birth -- to satisfy the privacy requirements.
If it's UHC calling, they DO already have that information. They're just asking you to confirm part of it to ensure that they aren't sharing your confidential, federally-protected health information with anyone but you.
You're probably on their call list because you have, or have had, health insurance underwritten by UHC through large employers, Medicare supplemental insurance, or State/Federal agencies. Chances are, they're calling you to tell you about a benefit that's included in the coverage you're already paying for, but that you're not using.
The number that shows up on your caller ID is the number of their outgoing trunk line, probably in Minnesota. The UHC employee who's calling could be anywhere in the world. With about 75000 employees, and hundreds of thousands of outgoing calls per day from a multitude of different divisions, they won't be able to access a record of calling you if you call the UHC toll-free number.
Call your health insurer and start asking questions about your health claims. If they don't require you to answer certain questions to verify your identity, it's a violation of Federal law. That's what UHC is doing when they ask you questions before they discuss your health--protecting your private information.
It's good to be vigilant about protecting your identity, but there's no cause for alarm on this one.

As much as I hate to refute your keen detective work, OptumHealth nurses are on call and available to their patients 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, so it's possible for a UHC employee to call you on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday.  Here's the number for the 24-hour nurse line: 1-888-543-5630.  Give 'em a call at in the middle of a weekend or holiday night if you don't believe it.

Healthcare providers, including health insurance companies, are legally prohibited from discussing your health information with you unless they've confirmed your identity, usually through the exchange of bits and pieces of non-confidential information like your birthdate or address.

If you don't want to take advantage of having a registered nurse as a health coach and advocate, you can certainly reject it, but that doesn't mean it's not legit.

You can be placed on the initial call list for any of several different reasons.  Perhaps you've received a new diagnosis. Maybe your claims include a medicine frequently used to treat an illness like diabetes or heart failure. Perhaps your geographic area was recently included in an existing health coaching program that's expanding. There are MANY call triggers.

The UHC nurses don't speak with your physicians unless you've enrolled in one of their many health coaching types of programs. The UHC nurses will always get your health/medicine history by discussing it directly with you, rather than relying on claims information that can paint an incomplete or inaccurate picture of your health.

I work for this company and it is not a scam.  We do make those calls because we have questions.  You should never feel bad about these calls as we are Hipaa trained and will not give your information to anyone.  The 866 is just a toll free number.  If you ever have a bad feeling and you do not want to give out your info you can always ask for the number to call us back.  I hope this helps.  This is not a Scam!!!   Thank you.

This is not a scam....  i work for this company and that is the number that appears when we call because of the way we work our calls...   Even if you call uhc there are many different branches to this company and by call then 800 they can not see if another branch was the one that called you.  You should ask for the toll free number from the person who called you.  then call the company back.  hope this helps...  This call is not a SCAM!!  hope this helps..  Thank you.

This is a legitimate number. I just got a call via this number from a pharmacist with Prescription Solutions that I have been talking with.
None of the "Call Type" categories apply; that is why I chose "unknown."

My 89 year old mother is distraught that she got a call from this number and the person on the other end told her she needed her DOB, SS#, address and more for the diabetes meter that was mailed to her. When mother shared this with us ... we all were very upset and don't know whether this is an identity theft. Is there a number we can call to talk to someone about it? The number on mother's caller ID was 763-274-3899

It is legitimate.  From UHC, we just had a baby born and she knew everything.  She wanted to provide
support and information.  She was a nurse and she was very informative.  Not a scam, if you don't want
    their help just decline it.

Optum Health is trying to get informaion from our doctors.  Thank God our doctors do not give out information.  Even the doctors office said they were harrassing them.

We are in no way assoicated with UHC.

I don't know this is a scam but it is certainly questionable.  How did they get the information about my husband's resent blood test.

If they are looking for a law suit, they have found one.  I am going to get to the bottom on this.

Do not give them any information.  Just hang up even if they have information on you.

Why don't any of you go to UHC's website and look up optumhealth and call them back directly from the number that UHC gives you?

It seems better than get worked up over a business that is clearly listed in UHC's information as one of their businesses.

Of course, if you don't have UHC healthcare, I don't know why they'd call you.

    This is a safe number.

I have had health issues this year that resulted in three surgeries.  United Health Care has a nurse who calls to answer any questions you may have and to provide support if needed.  This is a wonderful service and the nurse was very helpful when I had questions regarding the healing of the incisions and when and how I should transition to non-narcotic pain medication.  This is the number from which she called.

We had 2 calls from763-274-3899 as well and let it go to voice mail.  They said they were UHC and left an 800 # that turned out to be legitimate for Rx Solutions.  They called us 2 days in a row, I was worried since UHC has my CC on file so I put a block on the card in case UHC had been hacked.  Seems they were not but don't give these people any info.   Is UHC calling from MN? Beats me.  Think I'm going to the police and report it.

UHC and Prescription Solutions are two DIFFERENT companies.  I checked UHC's website and there is no mention of Optum Health OR Prescription Solutions.  BEWARE!

I have gotten calls from UHC for support in the past.  They phone number is usually 800 something AND United Healthcare shows up on the caller ID.

In this day and age, it's hard to trust a lot of things.  Just follow your instincts and make calls.  Do your homework.  The wise ones usually don't get burnt.

    Cheers!
